good video brother. question...bought truck last year and had it registered with dmv and paid taxed on it already since i was non cdl. just got cdl and trying to figure out all this ifta and irp. is there anyway for me to get refunded for the taxes already paid? also what all do i need to switch the plates to apportioned now? thanks
Very straightforward. Thanks for the info. Just bought a dually in New Mexico and working to get the apportion plate for my California company that I’ve just registered as a foreign entity here in NM. Sold all diesels and am now looking to start running hotshot from Cali to Texas. Also, just got my authority to start my freight brokerage firm. Any advice on hotshotting? Appreciate it!
Yeap me too... I already got my plates and I'm waiting in my 40ft trailer plates... So I need to know what I need to do and I'm in California where's everything is difficult 🤦🏾♀️
No. You just need the title number. I had to submit the title bc I just bought the vehicle and never had it titled. But you’ve already done that through your bank. Just get the title document number. You’ll need it for the IRP application
Question: does it have to be under my name? I have a driver who is financing his own vehicle and under my authority, could I still get apportioned plates?
I'm also looking to register my vehicle the same as a work truck. Do you have to have a CDL qualification to register as apportioned in your state? What wheel/tire combo do you have to not affect your weight rating.
There’s no CDL requirement but your truck does have to register above a certain weight limit. They didn’t ask about my wheel/tire combo at all when I went for registration

You have to do the title work at the DMV. I had to 1st transfer the title. On the IRP application they ask for a “Texas title document number”. Once you apply for the title at the DMV they’ll give you the number you need for the IRP then you do registration through IRP office
I was trying to get my apportion tags but I don’t have the tittle due to its finance and they still want the tittle, so I ask if I could get them a copy of it and I was told no it had to be the original, and I know it’s impossible to get it since the bank has it and there’s no way they will send it unless paid off, so your saying I can go to dmv and ask for the tittle # and that should work, by the way am in North Carolina any advice from anybody would be helpful thanks
Did you get the information you needed because I am financing my 2023 GMC Sierra and GM FINANCIAL said they can't give me the title let alone a copy lol

unless you buy the truck new from the dealer the dealer gives you a dealer verification reciet and your good to go and show mc vehical reg office that
if I am still making payments on the truck do i still need to submit the Title, whats the process on that?

how much weight do you load in your trailer at 40,000?
