  • I hired 3 ghostwriters from fiverr to write 3 different early reader chapter books for me. So, how did they do?
    Well let’s jump right into it.
    Grammarly: kwheelerbooks.com/grammarly
    🔴 Links to the ghostwriters I used in this video:
    Krista Watkins: kwheelerbooks.com/Krista
    IamGrace_Writer: kwheelerbooks.com/iamgrace
    Chloe_Writes: kwheelerbooks.com/Chloe
    First, here’s how I go about checking the ghostwriter’s work.
    - Run it through a plagiarism checker - I use grammarly’s plagiarism checker.
    - Now, plagiarists have gotten good at finding ways to work around plagiarism checkers. They’ve found a way to insert hidden characters within a plagiarized document so it will no longer flag that word.
    So the next step I do is copy all the text(ctrl A, Ctrl C), I then open up a new word file, paste it in(ctrl v). Next I save the file as a txt file.
    - Now, when I open up that txt file any special characters should stand out.
    - After I’ve confirmed the writing isn’t plagiarized then I start reading the manuscript
    - In addition to noting any changes, I ask myself; Did they fulfill the gig? # of words, Topic, guidelines sent?
    So, here’s how they did.
    Let me start off by saying that all 3 stories submitted passed both of my plagiarism checks, which was a huge relief so I could go on to actually reading the content.
    So what’s next? Honestly, my plan was to pick one of these stories and hire 3 editors to edit them for me. But after reading all 3 stories, I really like them all and I think all 3 have amazing potential. So, instead, I’m going to hire 3 editors, 1 for each story.
    Now if you’d like to check out any of these sellers, I’ve included links in the description below. Wondering how I found these 3 amazing ghostwriters? Check out this video right here and I’ll show you how I decided who to hire, the specs I gave them and how I actually submitted the orders.

      Yeah, I love writing, but I write in the genres I know and enjoy, like children's books and YA. That said, I know there are other genres that are begging for content and can be quite lucrative, so for those genres, I hire ghostwriters.
      This gives me the ability to tap into profitable niches while still focusing my time on what I enjoy writing the most.

      Just like any freelance platform that offers little prerequisites to become a seller, there are going to be some negative experiences.

    call me crazy, but you can't call yourself an author if you have a ghost writer and give them basically no direction other than a vague topic like mystery.

    • @KeithWheelerBooks
      @KeithWheelerBooks  2 года назад +7

      I understand where you’re coming from and I don’t disagree. When I work with a ghostwriter, I’m not the author, I’m basically the publisher.
      Also, to be clear I don’t typically recommend giving the ghostwriter such little guidance. I was doing for the sake of the video to see what kind of quality story they could come up with on their own. Basically. I was test driving these ghostwriters for the viewers. If they weren’t good, I’m wasting my money, not yours. Luckily, they all turned out pretty darn good!

    Hey I have a question I've been thinking about hiring a writer to write my story for me so should I hire a ghostwriter or a creative writer. And should I have a outline for it and a rough draft of my writing. Or should I just have the outline for my book and give it to the Ghost writer.

    • @KeithWheelerBooks
      @KeithWheelerBooks  2 года назад +4

      Ghostwriter means they’re writing for you without their name on the final work. Creative writer is a type of writer, typically used for fiction.
      So, if you’re referring to Fiverr topics, I’d go with ghostwriter and make sure you’re clear on your overall goal.
      As far as how much to provide them, that all depends on how much control you want over your book.
      If you want more control, then you’ll want to provide more info(ie a rough draft or detailed outline with character descriptions, etc). If you just have a topic in mind, then you can just share the broad ideas and let them come up with the rest.
      At the end of the day, it’s your book, but understand that the less guidance you give, the more creative control you’re giving your writer.

      I can’t make any promises for these projects, but Email me at kwheelerbooks@gmail.com and I’ll see if it’ll be a good fit.
