he just means in the FOOTY/classics. Those are indys. Whats more insane is wes kremer/hsu were on royal so they got footy and hammers riding royals...with the other obvious major rippers being VA and GUY. That blows my mind the most Id never skate royals after my experience with evos years back. All the royals ive tried from friends set ups and i just cant believe some GOATS rode royals in their hammers
Could’ve been John was high during this? Either way it seems the Indy 159 trucks are the most versatile. I’ve seen a Andrew Cannon from the Santa Cruz channel skate wide raging boards with 159‘s
hewitt switched from 8.5 and 169s to 8.38 and 159s and its been what i ride for years. Just this last year ive gotten some venture 6.1s. Still i love my 8.38 pointed nose/tail flat with 159 indys. Im compelled to try some twin tail 8.5s since they nose/tail is closer to an 8.38 tail size. Plus im still on 159 stage x and i like the 53mm height so the forged plate is closer to that range. Just 94a bottom, 92a top indy conicals, cant afford bones bushings when they need to be replaced so often i might as well get titanium trucks instead with what id spend on bones bushings filling the quiver over a year of skating...just not worth it TBH. But the 159 standards are quite versatile with the extra holes on the non forged plates, out of respect my next indys will surely be the 159 PH stage XI. Cant afford titaniums when im stealing bones bushings from my quiver just to keep my main setup going. LOL it really made me a fan of the indy conical bushings bc i love stage 9 i pretty much learned how to truely skate on stage 9s.
Because he said he switches the titanium hanger to the hollow hanger, which defeats the purpose because the forged baseplate is the same in both the hollow and titanium trucks according to what people commented.
the axle height clearance on the forged is also closer to the stage 9/X. Since the XI standard is 55mm. Not sure how it affects turning or how it feels between the stage X turning and stage XI. Only difference in stage X from stage 9 was the solid base plate and change from conical bushings in stage 9. I run conicals bc i learned/progressed on stage 9s. Id consider the new 159 mids or 159 forged hollows with conical bushings. Once i need to replace my 159 stage x standards. Then again the extra holes are nice on standards for riding different WB on 8.8-9.25 shapes. I do love how versatile the 159 standard is for me/my quiver.
i mean i run 8.38 on 159 indy for years, used to run 8" 139s. Then went to 8.13 with 149 thunders. Once i understood it was all about wider boards but pointed/tapered nose/tail. I was able to really get used to running 159 indys with 8.38. being comfortable with 159s is what got me into riding shaped boards and 8.8-9.25 that typical slappy/pool board shape. Now im also riding 6.1 ventures. Idk i havent ridden a flush setup since the 8" board 139 days sum 10 years ago. To me it got too expensive when every few months i wanted to ride 8.25 or 8 or 8.13 back n fourth wondering if i needed proper width trucks or to try non indys like venture 5.6 or venture 5.8. Then i rode the 149 thunders with 8.38 for a small window and my friend gave me the 159s bc they said they were too big for them....and i loved it. Conical fulls and radil fulls only for me too with the wide hangers its just an amazing setup. Whats funny is nyjah is the one that got me onto riding 149s from indy 139s bc he said bigger hangers helped him with fullcabs, which for me was true. on 8"-8.13 range. And once i saw riley was running 169s on 8.5 bc of the lock-in/extra hanger....is when i was like oh this 8.38 159 stuff is going to work. Indys nose and tail slide when the plate locks in so well it makes me not want to skate any other truck. For me the bigger hanger really helps with my nose/tail slides and popping out. And being able to bs 360 on pyramids/flat w.o feeling like my back foot/pop is going to mush/out before i actually pop. The 6.1 ventures have a really ideal pop feel for bs airs 180s half cabs and 360/full cabs, and bigspins, they just dont ride as well/ideal as indys for carving or high speed/landing from transfers
@@timburrow2996 plus thunders esp titaniums will just crack on the hanger from crooks so theyre basically for a park only/ledge only quiver setup. I dont throw $$$ at my quiver setups theyre like the garbage pale kids/frankenstein/bargain bin snag setups with 5+ year old wheels bearings etc. Just got a second set of 6.1 ventures bc theyre 20$ from zoomies figured why not i get to add to my quiver and the shop takes a loss while DLX got their profit. IF im not gonna shop local. If im buying 60$ forged hollow 159s or PH 159 standards bc more holes means more activities. Then thats going to be local. The same way i got the kader 6.1s when they first hit and venture finally started making 8.75 axles when they were hot. Indys esp standards on transition with conical full or radial full wheels...are just un beaten board/surface feel and speed/stability for me. Ive skated 149 thunder titaniums.......they feel like youre skating a toy/tech deck when trying to bs air or bs transfer. Landing on the ground also makes the board feel like a toy after an air/transfer. Weight aspect trucks have their own realm/area of use. If thiago can sw fs nose a ledge that high indys are LIGHT enough. If you or me a mere amateur etc. wants to practice kickflip bs tails or bigspin front blunt on a box/ledge....or in the park...yeah 148/149 thunder titaniums at their 90$ price point are "ideal"...with some core wheels while youre at the "light weight" aspect..if not a deck with tech/inserts for lightweight and long lasting pop...if youre LEGIT about this nonsense. I mean riding an 8.8-9.25 lucero shape is what it is shaving off 6 oz from your trucks so you can flip it better doesnt mean much to me...if i cant comfortably blast a bs air MAN style the way we've all learned on indy standards. Infact venture 6.1s feel even more glorius to blast a bs air/ollie with than my indy 159 standards. Only problem i have with the STAGE XI standard is that i ride conical bushings and grew up on stage 9. So the stage XI standard is taller than what im used to and conical bushings like the stage 9 as well as stage 9/X height. BUt it just means i dont have to ride risers or can ride 56mm+ wheels w.o risers more with the 55mm indys. So even then the standards have their advantages over the forged baseplate
All these years and this is the first time I've seen someone 5050 the top of a divider like that. Royals for life btw! They came up with a new design!
This is too good. They cut him saying "titanium baseplate", and that John Cardiel skates Indy's.
What’s wrong with the cardiel thing? He on aces or some racial stuff?
@eVerProductions1 what made you think racial stuff
And they're not titaniums at all bc the axle is hollow. So they're just normal hollows lol
@@stschannelt1476 the og indy badge🥴 you didn’t hear about them removing it because people complained about “racism”?

Fun fact the forged hollows are actually lighter than the titanium if you weigh them.
No way
titanium also grinds a lot slower and stickier than the normal hollows, prob why he was only skating the baseplates in this.
@@noluck8250the baseplates are exactly the same 😂 They are Forged just like with the Forged Hollows. Only the axle is Titanium instead of Hollow.
