When a gravelbike is very stiff I believe its because its meant to accellerate very fast on tarmac, and this is a good thing for commuting on mixed surface. Fast accelation is fun and I presume you have to sacrify some compliance and comfort to get that. My gravelbike is the opposite, heavier with lefty and kingpin damping. Both bikes are cool, but different. This stiffnes is positioning the Colnago G4 x between my superstiff and fast Wilier Gran Tourismo roadbike and my gravelbike. Not a bad position.
U do know that its not a colnago frame, its a scam that its that expensive. Its never been in a colnago factory - its a fugazi that its so expensive for what it is. This has nothing to do with the pogy race bike. It’s a marketing stunt to make u thing that the stiffness was needed. No it’s not - it’s stiff because it’s build in a sweatshop factory. Sorry Colnago - back in day its a dream bike - now its a too expensive knockoff design bike :( sorry for the rant here boys and girls. It’s too much.
Any video of it doing trails and getting muddy, what’s it capable of. We need it tested to the limit. Still, no in-frame storage like my trek checkpoint at half the price 😂 also let’s see the other side once you talk about the logo. Com’n man, you killing us here!
Hot take: extremely high-end drop bar bikes like this need to stop providing provisions for mechanical drivetrains. Almost no one is going to be building up this frame with a mechanical groupset and eliminating these provisions will make the frames simpler.
I'm not a fan of the logo cut in half....the top tube looks way too high....frame looks like a generic Chinese frame but with less tire clearance. Yoeleo G21 comes to mind.
Both are pretty stiff race bikes. The Crux is lighter and has space for wider tyres. That latter point helps to offset the frame stiffness on chunkier gravel. The Canyon has a nicely integrated front end which seem to be what most people like these days and as it takes some tube shapes from the V4Rs, it might be more aero. Personally I prefer the Crux, especially if you can get one on a discount.
Hummmm considering you can get a sram red group set currently at retail for little a little under 2k if you look around (and they will paying less than that i'm sure) and those wheels for around 850 rrp (again they'll be getting them fair bit cheaper there "cheap" wheels) .I fail to see how they arrived at 9k figure for that bike. you mean tell me that frame and handle bar comb cost 7k there ore there about's? thats 2k more than a C68 frame set. Come on! you'd have to be a mug to by this off the peg
Yet another gravel bike fail with it's stupid 71.9° HTA and 73.0° STA and too short front center and wheelbase. You shoud try a proper race bike like 2023 UCI Gravel WC winning Merida Silex II CF2 piloted to victory by Matej Mohorič. His race bike has 69.5° HTA and 75.0° STA and much longer fc and wb.
They are basocally using race bike frames, super stiff and aggressive, with ture clearance, and they call them gravel race. They are just heaby race bikes. Ridiculous
@@bikeradar geez, I was keeping my money in my pocket for the time being but you've just spoiled that Liam. Thanks to you both, I'll still be looking forward to that review! (And buying it in the meantime lol)
Can a bike be too stiff? What do you think of Colnago's latest gravel bike?
nah, just makes the rider harder.
I Suppose that stiffnes can be forgiven with soft inflatet 45 mm tubeless tyres.
too stiff? youre just weak, just ride some cross bike or something
When we're paying so much for the brand name, I wouldn't want the logo cut in half.
The cut logo is a feature of the yellow color scheme only. The green and blue have the full logo 🙂↔️
@@colnagoTV Have always dreamed of owning a Colnago, but would have to start doing banks "Point Break' style to get one. Would defo go full logo.
This is a bike thief's bike. Market segmentation is very specific.
0:19 - a nine grands gravel bike?!
Don't tell me about the crisis in the industry anymore, please! :)
It's top of the range - have you seen what you can pay for a watch?
There are plenty of other gravel bikes in the $2K-3K range.
@@petersouthernboy6327 yep, £2k will get a gravel bike with a carbon frame & Force 1 groupset.
it's a Colnago, its a premium brand, always has been always will be
I agree with all of you, guys!
Just noticed the industry condition is far from catastrophic!
2 new gravel releases in one day, welldone guys. I think I'll choose the Aspero.
The new aspero is SOOOOOO SLICK ! it’s beautiful
This new Colnago is essentially a copy of the original Aspero. The new Aspero looks even better and it’s half the price.
I guess 11 mins isn't long enough to show us the non drive side?
😂
😬🙂↔️🤦♂️
😂
when you finally saw it, was there a big surprise you weren’t expecting?
Who cares?

Looks lovely, although I'm out at 9k 😂
Gotta say... I love the look of it.
Gravel racers in the States are going wider with tires. You’d better be able to take a 50mm.
Definitely the way the market is going

Facts, and the Yoeleo fits 53c tires. I’d rather get one of those
I wonder what Ernesto himself thinks of that cut off logo 😅
How would you compare this new G4-X to Crux, please?

What pedals are those you're using?
They are the Look X-Track Carbon. Mighty fine pedals too. Liam
logo looks cool, something different

just hilarious. who is this bike for??
It’s for you. In the sense that it is intended as a price anchor (not a selling item) to make you happier about spending $3000 dollars on your bike.
Italian manufacturing 😂 (talking about those plastic parts)
It's a Culnagu
Where can I find the review of the other guy? I think he's a better rider than this guy.

I second that. Seems like for hilly riding light mtb HT frame with rigid fork is the best choice.
9000+ dollar for a bike with zipp 303s wheels? Might as well set your money on fire...
One point I don’t like so much about this fabulous nice good stiff gravel race bike…
the price.
Is the price stiffer than the bike?
Even Colnago's market of dentist won't give this a second look. Stoopid money is drying up.
bike industry has ruined the gravel spirit. more aero more stiffnes more shit
how quickly we forget our steel frame stiffness, at 71, I am not a yuppy softie
🤣🤣🤣🤣$9,750 🤣🤣🤣🤣 They cut the logo - they should also cut the price 👍💯😎
Canyon cut the bottom of their logo off, Colnago cut the top of their logo off. Not a fan of either.
The cut logo is a feature of the yellow color scheme only. The green and blue have the full logo 🙂↔️

This is also what i’m thinking. Use anything on the inventory slap them all together and call it a day.
These makes sense, people who want to win do not care about comfort! Me on the other hand please add suspension.
If half the price of the bike is for the logo, it's somehow consistent if you only get half a logo.
Those poor finishing touches are not acceptable on a 9000 bike at all!
Love the colour! Great review.
Thanks for watching!
Looks like its a fantastic roadbike that also can cope with som gravel and dirt roads.
3:38 into the video. Lots of sealant coming out around the side walls.
They were set up right before we took the bike for the rainy pack shots
So it's another road biased Gravel race bike, hence the stiffness......For Adventures/Bikepacking, then this isn't the bike for you.....
In Germany you can buy a CRUX EXPERT RIVAL AXS w. Roval Carbon Wheels für 3999€ / 4299€ 😀Sorry, Colnago...
Looks very much like a copy of a BMC Kaius..
Another Cervelo Aspero copy; for twice the price.
great
You mean to say, this is a commercial.
Not in any way a commercial. Colnago aren’t paying us and they have no control over what I say. Liam
Any chance you lads could review that van Rysel helmet? Cheers
Yes, we'll be reviewing the helmet so stay tuned on BikeRadar.com. Thanks for watching! Felix
As Felix says, a full review is coming from Simon. But there’s no way I’m ever paying £250+ for a helmet again. This is fantastic. Liam

A 'general rider' buying a bike at that price 😂😂muppet.
