This song is truly a masterpiece, a classic. It's rawness, cord progressions, production, feeling and message all combined. This is the first DC Talk song I ever heard, and it was a 4 or 5 years before I became a Christian. There was something about Christian music that wasn't present in worldly music, and I could sense it even though I wasn't saved. At that time I just moved to the US and I didn't have any friends and was bullied at school. This music as well as the kindness of many Christians from churches had a big impact on my life. My first impression was that Kevin Max's voice sounds like Freddy Mercury, which I was a fan of, the way he does the vibrato and everything. I'm surprised they didn't make more songs like this. (If you know any, let me know) I'm also surprised that it doesn't have more views. This will always be on my list of best songs of all time.

I personally love the minor/major back and forth in the progressions...made this one of my musical formative albums that shaped my tastes and such with music....borrowed chords are awesome and major/minor mixing is also awesome, it's just kind of refreshing that once you're into music as a possible outlet that you see songs and other pieces differently than when you did when you first listened

A friend of mine that had albums out back in the 80’s Kevin Paige sang this song where he was the music director at Lindenwood Christian church in Memphis, Tn. It gave me chills the only time I heard him play it. That was like 20 years ago and I had forgotten about it. I remembered it out of the blue and looked it up in here. I played a song by the same title by Crowder. That was not what I remembered at all. I scrolled down convinced that Crowder song was not what I remembered. Only one entry for DC Talk and this Red Letters but it is most definitely it. I’m not a huge fan of Cont Christian but this song is great.

So if you want to reject the evidence for Jesus existing, then you would have to reject the evidence for every person who lived in antiquity
