- A nothing match for Scunthorpe United, a massive match for Bristol Rovers. They needed to win and swing a goal difference of 5 goals for automatic promotion. A very young Scunthorpe side was on display, against a high flying Rovers side that have been impressive. Rovers dominated if you didn’t know by looking at the score line of 7-0. Hit by a pyro, racist Gas kicked out (he’ll be gutted he missed that - oh well) Hope the books thrown at him. Enjoy League 1 Gas and anyone know how to get to Eastleigh? 🤷🏻♂️
Tranmere Fan here, saw the Gas & Iron play at our ground (Prenton Park) this season and well done to both sets of fans for their sportsmanship and coming in such big numbers for an away day. Congratulations to Bristol Rovers, what a season for you. Commiserations to Scunthorpe, hate to see clubs like yours relegated to the conference, we'll miss you next season and good luck for promotion which we know ourselves is possible if you keep the squad together and the fans behind you. Our philosophy when we were in the conference was "3 points at home and a point away guarantees promotion from the conference" as consistency/continuity of performance is everything at that level. Hope both sets of fans have a great summer.

In all fairness as bad as we’ve been, the supporters have been great considering what’s happened. Also the last League game for however long probably swayed a few too. Cheers for the kind words and good luck next season 👍🏼

Great support from scunthorpe yesterday. Really sorry that both you and oldham are going down - 2 proper football clubs. Rovers fans look back on our season in national league through rose-tinted glasses. It's true we had a great year - visiting places we've never been - but it was only great because we only had one year there. Good luck
Gashead here and I gotta say fair play to you lot for traveling all the way down for what was essentially a nothing game and taking the loss on the chin, obviously it was a amazing day for us and not so good for you lot but it's good to see it from the other side and at least you a good day out, commiserations and good luck for next season 👍
To address the ‘quietness’ in the first half, it was due to Northampton being 3 up in 20 mins which made all rovers fans feel gutted as we felt we had to rely on a barrow triumph. Fair play to the Scunthorpe fans who traveled down

All the lads and lasses that traveled down are legends, no short journey and after the season Scunny have had. Being a Barnsley fan I can relate this season it’s no fun watching defeat after defeat, hoping you bounce back at the first attempt Scunthorpe should be a league club, best of luck next season.

A smashing video for all sorts of reasons. Scunthorpe being relegated out of the football league is bad enough, but to suffer a defeat like that makes it even worse. I have to admit that Rovers did a magnificent job at your expense today, and I’m saying that as a lifelong Bristol City fan.
What annoys me though is that on TV this morning all I heard about was the Premiership. No mention of Rovers terrific leap into the division above or your slip into non-league football. Football at a lower level is far more important to most people than those who dictate the game would have us believe.
I hope the Iron bounce back because the league is a poorer place without teams like yours. Well done to you for showing us what you and your fellow supporters felt like on the last day of the town’s team in the football league, but I hope it’s not too long before you’re back.

Just have to echo what everyone else has said here. Brilliant video, great support on a day that must have been tough for you but you're a total credit and really wish Scunny all the very best next season.
And to echo another Gashead, our time in the National League had real fond memories for me actually after the hammer blow of relegation. Playing Halifax Town on an utter turnip patch at the Shay and seeing Ellis Harrison score the Gas goal of the season will always be up there.
Really hope you sort your infrastructure out and get back up first time. It's not easy but not impossible. Really genuinely wish you the best as Gasheads know that feeling only too well of what you felt.
Cheers Chris, yes lots needs changing behind the scenes. The fear for some, is we won’t have a ground to start next season in. As relegation has been confirmed a while now, I’ve got my head round that we’ll be in NL. So I’m looking forward to seeing what it has to offer. I’m not expecting it to be easy at all. It was a great day for the Gas. I was in the Thatchers End. Yet it is sad to lose the Iron to non-league when there are plenty of poorly supported smaller teams punching well above their weight including Morecambe, Cheltenham and Vegan Rovers (FGR). Bounce back quickly - the league needs you.
To be already demoted and follow your team with the manner you did is what a true football fan is.
Unlike the ejected fan from us, I hope he never gets inside the ground again.

really enjoyed your videos this season. Will watch out for them next season. National league was a horrible pill to swallow at first, but became one of my favorite seasons watching Rovers. We eventually got our team back and came back stronger. Hope you do to. All the best for next year.

Well the lad who scored the OG and was subbed off in 26th min or so (his first start) has been released. We do have some good young lads and that experience, they’ll hopefully learn from and push forward. We need some experience too and players that want to play for the shirt, otherwise it could be another long season.

Was a weird game to be at bouncing pre match feeling we had a chance and then Northampton get a goal early then 2 then 3 and we all felt quite awkward. We got up to 3-0 but it felt nothing more than a testimonial as we needed 7 ffs 😂 and then each goal the belief was building but what a day, what a season. Fair play to Scunny though and good luck in the conference its a rough time and hard league but it is possible to bounce back.

I’m a gas head and I was in the opposite end and it was an absolutely unreal day, most surreal feeling ever! 8 years back we got relegated to conference so we’ve been there mate but all the best in conference, hope you guys bounce back!
Yes was quite some game of football. Not the first time we’d been tonked this season 🤦🏻 Guess the other games didn’t quite have the same outcome though haha Will live long in the memory that’s for sure. Good luck next season and as for bouncing back, I think it will be a while.

Don’t look at it as non league because in reality it’s just League 3.
When we went to the National League we thought we were just going to bounce back and we struggled for the first couple of months before reality sunk in and we had to go through the play offs to get back up.
You just need to respect the teams down there and do a professional job and I’m sure it won’t be long before you are back up. Good luck 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Brilliant and touching video and the other side to our amazing day 😊 but we were relegated out of the football league in 2014 and it was horrible But we had an amazing season going to grounds we had never been too meeting fans we never have met .
We were lucky and bounced straight back and fingers crossed you guys will do the same 😊

Always good to see things from a different perspective. As for bouncing back, it may be a while. We need to sort out our off field problems first, ideally a new owner coming in 🤞🏼 I’ll be happy not to be relegated again next season. At the beginning of the season the mood at Rovers was not that different to yours now . Turning that disastrous start into promotion took determination, good management and character; the game yesterday got us across the line, it's not THE reason Rovers have gone up.
