I'm going to pause and reply to things you say along the way. First off loved the intro and I'm sure MMM would too!
The light moving across the ceiling during the SN dance practice wasn't an effect - it was reflecting off a friendship ring that Wheein was wearing. After 5 years I'm a bit foggy on which ring it was but I think it was the ring Moonbyul had made for all the members. Wheein & Hwasa also have friendship rings but I think they made them later. A moomoo will probably correct me on this.
Mamamoo dance practices are always chaotic. 🤣 Starry Night is one of the songs where they incorporated sign language into the choreo. They sign "The stars are shining." Wheein knows enough sign language to communicate with hearing impaired fans at fanmeets.
I love the concert arrangement of Egotistic, which is called the Blistering Sun version for good reason. MMM often remixes or rearranges their hit songs for concerts, award shows and other special events, sometimes in completely different genres than the original. Like the year-end 2016 KBS Song Festival when they did a short dixieland jazz version of You're the Best over a pre-recorded instrumental track followed by a rock version of Decalcomanie with a live band who later became their label mates Onewe (one of the best k-bands imo). Anyway, back to Egotistic. Their 2019 concert tour was called 4 Seasons F/W (Fall/Winter) and it was the culmination of their year long four album series called 4 Season 4 Color. The 4 Seasons F/W concerts ran over 4 hours and are spectacular from beginning to end. You've already seen a few clips like the finale of Solar's 20 minute solo stage where she ended her cover of BTS's Fire by ripping off her shirt and tossing it to the audience. Talk about burning down the house. A yt jazz guitar teacher posted a question asking if we could go back in time and see any concert ever done what would it be? I thought of Ellington at Carnegie Hall or Coltrane at the Village Vanguard and a few others but my answer was Mamamoo's 4 Seaons F/W concert in Seoul, 2019.
This is getting long so I'm not going to write an essay on the 4 Season 4 Color project. Here are a few basics: each album had a theme season & color, each member was assigned a color and performed a self-composed solo song on "her" album, each title track explored a stage of love in a four part relationship cycle. Starry Night and Egotistic were the first two title tracks in the series. A breakdown:
Spring/Yellow album: Yellow Flower, title track Starry Night. Stage: Attraction. Solo song: Hwasa's Be Calm.
Summer/Red album: Red Moon, title track Egotistic. Stage: Passion. Solo song: Moonbyul's Selfish (feat Red Velvet's Seulgi).
Fall/Blue album: Blue;S, title track Wind Flower. Stage: Heartbreak. Solo song: Solar's Hello.
Winter/White album: White Wind, title track Gogobebe. Stage: Innocence/Unattached. Solo song: Wheein's 25.
The 4 Season 4 Color series is the most complex, ambitious project ever done by a girl group. If you want an intro to the main concepts and cyclical symbolism used throughout the series check out Paint Me, which is the theme song for 4S4C and is one of Mamamoo's main vocal masterpieces. Btw, they opened the 4 Seasons F/W concerts with a jaw-dropping rearragement of Paint Me.
