I just tried to copy and paste the icon from finder into illustrator as described in your video and the picture doesn't copy over. In illustrator it gives me the error message, "Quicktime and a decompressor are needed to see this picture." I have Quicktime installed? Do you have any idea what's wrong?

That’s strange. What kind of image are you saving in illustrator?

@@CrusoeDesignCo I don’t get to the point to save it. Just copying the icon image from the finder window (get info) and pasting in illustrator causes the error message. I want to get the original icon size in illustrator to use as a template. I found a work around though. It will paste into photoshop, then I re-save and export to illustrator. I’m still using CS3.

@@Silentpartner2176 interesting. Maybe it’s because of the older software. Glad you found a work around though!!

HELP! So after the Catina update, all of my Icons are gone! Now they're all a logo of a white sheet of paper with an "A" Shaped out of a pencil and paper. How do I get my icons back? please help I have over 30 adobe apps that I cant use. It's been like this for a minute, I searched everywhere no success, none of the apps can be opened either I cant edit or anything! Thanks in advance

Hey Kamryn! I would try calling Apple support. If it removed your custom icons, you'd have to manually replace them I suppose. However the apps should still open. If they are not opening, that is likely a larger problem from the update. Try searching the app using Spotlight and see if it opens. Other than that, you'll definitely need to contact support. Custom icons shouldn't have anything to do with this.

@@CrusoeDesignCo THANKS SO Much! I rewatched your video at a slower speed and found the solution to my problem!! My icons were “outdated” all I had to do was search in Finder and replace the 2020 icons with the 2021 updates now they all open! Again thanks so much!
