      I'm not sure if you can still buy it but their is a graphic novel called Clerks the comic books that continues the story of the first clerks movie. Their is also another graphic novel called Chasing Dogma it's basically Jay And Silent Bob strike back but it connects what happened after Mallrats to the beginning of Dogma.

    The film was shot in 21 days (with two "pick-up" days). The Quick Stop convenience store, located at 58 Leonard Avenue in Leonardo, New Jersey, where Smith worked, was the primary setting for the film. This was the epitome of an independent film, really a student film made on a shoestring budget and a prayer.

    Primate! My friend, you are in for a WONDERFUL journey down this rabbit hole. I haven't read other comments yet, (and I'm still at the beginning of the video)... but in case no one has mentioned it yet, it's best to go through these in release order (shown below). You'll notice two of the recurring characters (Jay and Silent Bob) had a cameo in the movie "Grandma's Boy". There are some related "cartoon" movies/shows but I'm not sure if they are actually good, or even related to the movies except for having character names involved.
    Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Clerks II, Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, Clerks III.

A mixed store in Savannah GA [ aka 'Home Run Video' ]... primarily VHS Rentals (+adult), Comic Books (+w subscriptions), and Magazines (normal + high end) sales. I did get to wait on Kevin Spacey, Joie /Joy & August(us) Coppola [Nick Cage's parents], and random other actors. But mostly locals ( of which some were infamous... see 'Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil' - directed by Clint Eastwood... fun times ).

Closest I got to those people is visiting the comic shop a few times in Red Bank, NJ { grew up around / worked in RB... used to buy comics at the RB mini-mall.. next to the diner, Elsie's subs, the Monarch thrift store, and Count Basie Theatre }

  • @shakezoola1114

    Probably best he didn't go with the "alternate" or "full" ending. Small amount of footage would have taken this from a slice of life comedy to a much darker place. It makes sense with the student film aspect of it but I wonder if it would have resonated the same with the masses into Smiths future. If you're curious I'm sure you can find the alternate ending somewhere. It's a bonus feature on the disk. There was also a pretty funny animated Clerks show with the same actors but it was short lived as it belonged 10 years in the future on Adult Swim not freakin ABC. Too spicy for 90s network Tv sadly.

    • @mgordon1100

      Mallrats is a day or two before clerks. One, Jay and Silent Bob can't be in two places at the same time. Two, Dante and Randal go to the funeral for the girl who died a day before Mallrats takes place. Timeline: Julie, Dante's ex GF, dies. The next day, TS's GF Brandi has to step into the dating show for her. Presumably the next day, or more likely two days later, Dante and Randal crash the wake for Julie in Clerks.

    • @NathanClarkNateMan010276
      @NathanClarkNateMan010276 3 месяца назад

      @@mgordon1100 you're right Mallrats has to take place before Clerks. Do the rest of the movies go in chronological order when they were released? Pretty sure Chasing Amy was a few years after Clerks and Dogma is immediately after Chasing Amy.

    • @mgordon1100
      @mgordon1100 3 месяца назад

      @@NathanClarkNateMan010276 You are correct. At the end of Jay and Silent Bob's scene in Chasing Amy, Jay mentions that they are going to Chicago. That's Dogma. While the comic book was never discussed in Dogma, presumably Banky made the movie deal during this time, which leads us into Strikes Back.
      Clerks II is pretty much Dante's own story with little references, but it's clearly the next chronologically because Jay and Silent Bob save the Quick Stop with their movie royalty money.
      The final two movies also are chronological. Their ages show this, with the inclusion of Jay's and Boo Boo Kitty Fcks daughter (Reboot). Then the final movie Clerks III is the closure to the whole universe.
