Nice work. 👍 I owned a 1983 TT600K back around 1989. It wasn't running when I saw it and it was said to have a serious knocking noise from inside the engine, but I bought it since I got it cheaply. Turned out to be something easy to fix: Someone had been inside the engine for some reason and failed to properly tighten the primary drive gear nut. The nut was still in place holding the gear, but was loose enough to allow it to rock back and forth on the crankshaft a few degrees in either direction. Hence, the knocking noise. Once that was fixed, I treated the bike to the usual new tires, new chain and sprockets, new air filter, etc. Man, that was a whole lot of fun riding that big thumper back in the day. One of the perks of that bike was how very easy it was to start - no stubbornness or special starting drill and no wasted time and no frustration. Just push down the kick starter and it started...every time.

Thats what I did to mine Complete Rebuild motor and put new Taper Roller Bearings Trippel clamp ( steering stem) Gives the Bike more stability than ballbearings this works well on all motorcycles, takes a bit of machining to convert sumtimes ?
warm it up to disamble. use the old bearing to hammer it in place. ...i remember, the lower bearing in the frame was a bitch. took a night to grind it out...
Hi again I see the engine is in a mat black ⚫ can you tell me about the pegs stand, wheel hubs is it a seme gloss black . Sorry for all questions just been encouraged to do same rebuild as your high standard ,on my 83 as well. Thanks again
The frame and all black and red parts at 0:40 were given to the powdercoater. Unfortunately, he made the spring black, but hey...for nothing, for a favor. The engine is painted with high-temperature-lacquer-spray. The wheel-hubs were refurbished before that time, so i think they are painted by spray-can.
No, i don't know the code. My powder-coater took a RAL-code which was near the original. There is an app in the playstore called "color harmony". It determines the color of pictures in RAL-codes. Unfortunately not in yamaha-codes. Maybe it will help.
