Coverage of the midnight celebrations in New York, Washington DC, Miami Beach, Toronto, Easter Island and Peru (using the international broadcast feed) by ABC Australia as part of the international broadcast of '2000 Today' which involved segments from over 60 countries worldwide. The ABC was the Australian broadcaster, which provided several segments for the international broadcast. The program was an international consortium led by the BBC in the United Kingdom and WGBH in the United States
This part of the ABC broadcast was hosted by George Negus, who had just finished as host as ABC's Foreign Correspondent at the time. Negus then handed over to Peter Thompson and Kathy Bowlen toward the end of this segment.

thank you for posting this. i have been collecting videos of the millennium celebrations for years. i taped a few myself. always looking for more, cetian places more than others but its quite a list. perhaps i could talk to you about it?
