Still, i enjoy watching you cook. Hell, i enjoyed watching you judge. You were by far the kindest judge on cutthroat kitchen, you seemed more a good teacher than a judge. And i like that.

Love your step by step guide to cooking authentic tasty dishes. Love this dish. Cook it tomorrow night for dinner.

    I would argue the best "comfort noodle dish" is chicken noodle soup. I swear by that stuff when i am sick or feeling sick. The good old Jewish penicillin. Even if it doesn't help, it's easy to eat, nutritious, and just comforting.

    if you're not used to fish sauce or decide to buy it for the first time to make this recipe, please TASTE IT first before dumping it in. fish sauces vary in taste not just from brand to brand but from country to country. if you taste it and it seems too strong, start with a lot less and taste your dish while cooking. you can always add more fish sauce later, but good luck trying to remove it.
    the brand he's using is three crabs viet hong fish sauce. this is a pretty affordable brand with a smooth and well-balanced flavor. it's on the milder side so 3 tablespoons of this isn't unreasonable (unless you're really not into fishy flavors in which case start with less than half).

      @@m.theresa1385 but looking at the end result
      i don’t see enough. I want 50% broccoli
      25% protein and 25% carb.
      Also the broccoli seems wilted not
      firm or snappy enough. But that’s
      how I make anyway.

    • @m.theresa1385
      @m.theresa1385 2 года назад

      @@Jimfromearthoo7 too funny! When I order takeout I always ask for crunchy vegetables, especially when I order string beans. Here I guess it’d have been crunchier if it wasn’t pre-steamed and just added to the wok, though it’d then have sprung water into the sauce. Home woks don’t get as hot as those in restaurants to burn off the steam.

    Not sure why Jet continues to mispronounce “phad” but it’s pronounced “pod” NOT “pad”. Americans have a poor record in honouring the correct pronunciation of foreign words but the correct pronunciation of the THAI word for fried is “POD”.

    • @BryoMoss
      @BryoMoss 2 года назад +1

      “Pad” (ผัด) in Pad Thai should be pronounced the same way people pronounce “But” or “Cut”
      Most of the letter A in Thai word are pronounce “Ah” and not “Ae”
      “Pod” sound like ปอด which means lungs
