So glad that Nick brought back the iconic logo. As a nod to our childhood growing up with the great nicktoons like Danny Phantom, Jimmy Neutron, and The Fairly Oddparents. Happy that it’s back.
That’s actually kind of funny because I just recreated the splat logo in Photoshop today, and yet, I thought of bringing combining it with the current Nickelodeon logo’s font yesterday before I started making it. Did I just predict the future and not realize it?
I hope they bring back the splat logo because this will make any other episode feel like an old episodes. especially with the older episodes of SpongeBob, the last time I saw the splat logo 5 years old. And if they bring back the splat logo it will be a nice nostalgic feel to any show. Fingers crossed
I loved how it was made into various shapes and sizes. I was upset when Nickelodeon stopped doing that around 2003 or 2004, although they did continue to use the light bulb logo.
I know it’s been a while guys. I gotta admit though. Many of their old animated shows rock. Why can’t they make some of the same stuff as they used to? Other than beinging back some of their old shows like Invader Zim, Rocco’s Modern Life and Hey Arnold!
I already thought it would be a nice idea if Nickelodeon brought back the splat albeit with their current custom font instead of the original balloon one. The splat was so iconic. It could be molded for any occasion to fit in each show’s logo. The new one looked good on it’s own but feels pretty weak and standard compared to the old one. Without the splat, things felt empty on the brand but this is a ray of hope.
I kinda liked the font on that newer logo, and I’m glad that that remains. Though I still think the splat should be wider to match the width of the name.
I honestly think the modern font references the early 80's nickelodeon font, as they are both very similar In fact I saw a NickMania video from 1984 that has that font orange, and it looks very close to the modern day font
When I was a kid in the late 2000s when they changed their logo in 2009 I thought it looked awesome though I have nothing against the 2003 splat logo even though I was 1 in 2003 when that logo happened since I was born in 2002 and I was 7 in 2009 since I didn’t even know that the Nick logo changed in 2003 since I was a baby but I do know that Nick changed their logo since I was 7 in 2009 and I think it looked amazing even without the splat, I think they both looked cool🙂
A good start I guess, but what kept the old in my head was how different it could become. It's wasn't always a splat. Also those awesome little bumpers with the different types of music and animation styles.
I hope Cartoon Network follows suit and does the same thing with their logo by bringing back the original Cartoon Network logo I grew up as a kid with.
The checkerboard logo still exists, just with a different font, nothing much else different 🤷♂ They could be using the logo as the main one though, Who knows.
I’m glad Nickelodeon is bringing old and new at the same time. But we can all agree that the original splat will always be a memory of nostalgia for 80s, 90s, and even early 2000s kids.
While Nickelodeon is not the same now as it used to be, it's nice to know that they went back a bit to an era that helped shape so many childhoods, including my own.
@Ricardo Pratt welp, the South African version of Disney Channel did a rebrand, two months after Disney+ launched in the country (in 2022). It's the same logo as the American version, but with one major difference: the Mickey Mouse ears are no longer present on the i in Disney.
Add to the fact they kept renewing SpongeBob and Fairly Odd Parents, and in run both shows eventually nosedived. Hell, even the last couple seasons of Rugrats saw a massive dive in quality (for me it was around the time of the 2003 “Go Wild” movie , I didn’t mind when the show introduced Dil and Kimi, but by 2003-04 it was obvious they were running out of ideas).
I was born in 2007, I still remember the 2010s nick logo but seeing you guys happy that the splat is back, it makes me feel new to this returning golden era logo I got used to the 2010s logo and now that the splat is back, I don't know what to say other than "Huh?"
Have you seen many of the classics such as Wild Thornberry’s, the original Rugrats, or My Life as a Teenage Robot? I highly recommend them, they were a part of my childhood growing up.
I want the splat logo to come back, I was only 7 when the logo changed, we still had the childhood there, but when about a decade pass, i felt like it was no longer nostalgic
Okay, that combo honestly goes quite hard. Seriously, it almost feels like this is how it should've been from the start... if the start were 2009, anyway.
I think we are entering a new era for animation, with dreamworks and now Nickelodeon retuning to their roots and the things that made them good in the first place, I can tell they are starting to care more
Wow I didn't think Nick would bring back the Splat logo as it's pretty dope and nostalgic to many! The fact that they mixed it with the new logo is just awesome!
Nickelodeon finally decided to do the one thing they should've kept in the first place... Bringing back the splat logo Even though it's not as classic as the old logo but now it finally screams Nickelodeon
I am glad they are bringing back the orange splat. It is smart they are combining the modern logo and the good old days logo and mix them together. Even though I have not watched nick in years, are they going back to their roots?
I’m so glad Nickelodeon’s bringing their old 90’s logo it makes me think of my childhood. I hope they bring back the old bumper and also the old theme song I’ve been watching the documentary called the orange years which is about 90s nickelodeon and it helps me learn about the old nickelodeon. I know Nickelodeon‘s birthday will be April 1, which is their anniversary and I want to say I’m thankful AndAnd proud to be a 90s Nick kid I love Nickelodeon
this is basically what i've been wanting ever since the logo change in 2009 really. i liked the new font and logo animations and stuff, but the splat was still too iconic to throw away.
They need to make that fullscreen. I hate it when networks condense the closing credits so badly that they have to reduce the logos to tiny screens. I know they primarily do it because of the extra commercial time, but there's an easy way to solve that problem; DON'T air so many commercials! I remember when I was 12 years old TVLand brought back The Beverly Hillbillies in syndication for the time in years. After only the first one or two weeks, they completely cut-out the outro for an above-screen promo with the credits in a black bar, followed by the Filmways and Viacom "Wigga-Wigga" (on B&W episodes) or "V of Steel" (on color episodes) logos in a tiny box. At first, as a kid and logo nerd, I thought TVLand was just doing that to conspire against the logo community (even though I didn't know CLG yet) so they wouldn't upload their airings of logos on YT. And I maybe partially right depending on who's doing it.
I actually never got to explore the 90s-09 era because I was born in 2011. I know what the splat logo looks like, It’s just I’ve never seen it as a watermark on TV. And I might get to experience it for real!
I wonder if this will be the new logo for the corner of the screen that would be cool I never got to experience the splat logo I was born 2006 and it went away in 2009 and I was only 2 years old so the one I remember is the one that they used for the 2010s maybe this a start of new logo for the 2020s that would be cool, if they are changing there logo I think Nick Jr should too just add cyan splat on the side and boom there’s Nick Jr’s new logo, this will be interesting.
I highly doubt the main channel would rerun those shows again. Considering that these shows ran for only 1 season. As for Making Fiends, it only aired on Nicktoons with just 6 episodes. The other 3 shows though, the last time Nickelodeon reran those shows was like back in November 2007(this was around the time where every 1st episode of their Nicktoons in order was being aired). I’m not sure if Mr.Meaty was part of that Thanksgiving marathon but I do remember it did stop airing sometime in 2007. Probably Nicktoons would rerun them again. Now if the main Nickelodeon channel was to air an old Nicktoon, it’ll probably be Rugrats considered it did air on there here and there a couple years back. Even in the early 10s and a few times 2018. Avatar; TLA did surprisingly return to the main Nickelodeon channel back in 2020 but it was only for a day. I don’t know about the other Nicktoons returning to the main channel but it’ll be cool to see Jimmy Neutron, MLAATR and Danny Phantom make a comeback to give the viewers a mixture of new and old content.
@channel undergoing refresh Well it’s technically more of a live action Nicktoon and of course with the complaints people had with the show back when it aired, it only lasted like 2 years mainly on Nicktoons and it just vanished after like 2009 or 2010💀🤣
Well at least it's somewhat of the old logo. But it's still cool though. Now the should start either playing some throwback show like the Original Rugrats, Hey Arnold, The Wild Thronberrys, Rocket Power, Doug, etc. Or Bring Back Nick Rewind. Or Something.
2:07 The (Orange) Splat looks a bit digital but wasn't as 2D like they did back in the past, like the 1990s for example. The New Logo with Nickelodeon with the returning comeback of the Splat. The Nickelodeon Logo wasn't self-centered inside the Orange Splat like they did from 1984-2009 (Way Back). Anyways, Some people may find nostaglia, while some [other] people find this disappointing (for Orange Splat Revival).
Nickelodeon has always been So Special to me, except I’ve never gotten into any of their old shows when I was little. And I used watch those newer like The Thundermas, Henry Danger, and School of Rock (2016 version). But now that I’m 18 I’m actually starting to get into their old school goodies and I love it! I have been waiting for this for as long as I can remember. Pretty much ever since it changed. I really hope they might alter it a bit later on to make it look just a little more like the original splat because this still looks really corporate and simplified, but even if not, I'm happy that it's back. I also really hope they get more cartoons aside from The Loud House and their millions of unfaithful SpongeBob spinoffs. I miss quality NickToons, not just an orange and green dumpster fire. That would mean more to me than just the logo, they've gotta live up to the splat, not just have the splat. But hopefully this will be a step in the right direction? Either way, excited to see where Nickelodeon goes in 2023.
It feels like a mix of the old 90s and modern logos. That's all well and good but what Nickelodeon needs is a 24/7 retro channel. They have plenty of shows and hours they can fill up day to day. And bring back the old bumpers in between commercials.
Fix up Nicktoons! I don’t know why Spongebob, The Loud House, Alvin & The Chipmunks are the only shows on the block right now. TMNT(2012) and Fairly Oddparents do air sometimes but still. What they need to do with Nicktoons is cut down on those damn SpongeBob airings. They got a library of shows to air. Danny Phantom, Avatar; TLA, Harvey Beaks, Tuff Puppy, MLAATR, Hey Arnold, Rugrats, It’s Pony, Jimmy Neutron, etc. Give these some air to breathe lol.

Exactly it was like back then Nick cared about SpongeBob but didn’t “only” care about SpongeBob

Even My life as a teenage robot either too

I always thought they could combine the Nickelodeon logos. Like we’d have the Splat but with the font of the Modern logo.
Real bro
Agreed.
Agreed.
I’ve always thought that would be a good idea. It would be both modern and nostalgic at the same time.

@@AvalancheTV yes I do remember the laughing kids and that weird face made of paper with the weird robotic voice
I think Nick will put the new splat logo on their channels after the kids choice awards airs. Because right now nicks branding is all KCA
I was 7 years old when the changed the logo back in 2009
BOOM! Nothing happened. Everything after KCA stays the same.
The one thing that we can agree with is that the old logo is very nostalgic.

Not only that, but it fits the brand too

I’m glad they brought back the splat logo cause it’s most iconic and noticeable for their company since 1980s. Gives me back so much nostalgic vibes.

I already thought it would be a nice idea if Nickelodeon brought back the splat albeit with their current custom font instead of the original balloon one.

I agree, the new logo just felt bland and boring…
Yep. That orange logo of their been around for so long.
Just as I started rewatching Making Fiends, this had to happen!
I wish Nick would acknowledge that show...
Wow, the splat logo looks great! Thank you nice for bringing back

I have waited so long for this logo to come back. Thank you Nick.
