@@lexburen5932 there are solutions to that, like the Jaguar XK's pop-up bonnet to keep a low profile but also protect pedestrians from hitting the engine in the event of a crash. With an electric drivetrain, the engine will be so small and low, there's no point in making a blob shape when you could have a frooth that's sleek, low and easy to access, maybe even with a clamshell. A Tesla Model S has quite thin looking A- and C-pillars and a low bonnet line, while being one of the safest cars on the road. There will be some compromises, but in a heavy luxury car like this and with continuously improving material properties, they shouldn't be so noticeable. Build a 2 tonne EV using the production techniques of the i3, but with the new current-excited motors and better batteries, style it like a modern E38, and you might end up with an actual Tesla killer. Too bad it'll be too expensive so there's no business case for it... though the Porsche Taycan (arguably a modern 1967 4-door 911) is selling quite well, so that might change.
My uncle owns a successful restaurant, he bought an E38 when it was new and used to drove me and brother around every-time we visit his restaurant. And yes, he still has it till this day and turn it into a weekend car haha. Its the only reason why I’m into BMWs today haha
Du bist nicht aus aachen oder? Der Besitzer eines griechischen Restaurants hier fährt einen Mega geilen E 38 schon seit dem ich Kind war. Bin jetzt 35. grüsse
I owned one. For many years then all the plastics started to disintegrate including wiring. You’ll need new wheel wells and wiring harness minimum. Dump it before it’s too late.
When it was launched way back in 1994 alot of motoring journalists at that time critized bmw for it looking to similar to e32. But after all this time it's design has really stood the test of time. Amazing car. Still have so much fond memories and respect for my former E38 728i. Till this day I cherish the time with it
This is one of the best ever built, I had the pleasure of driving one is quite remarkable car. The Karl Lagerfeld and James Bond was a very nice touch especially when you showed how they have done in the movie.
What a collection! The Lagerfeld is so, so special. Side note, Bond didn't use a Nokia, he had a proprietary (and sadly fictional) Ericsson model JB988.
Had a black 735il in 2010. It was always my dream car because I saw it as a kid in that bond movie. Unfortunately the transmission broke and there were a lot of other problems too. I had to sell it but I’m still in love with this 7 series
I have always owned BMW coupes till now but when I see these 7 series, they still look incredible till now. Their design game was really next level at the time 👌👌
Being part of the classic museum, its obvious that these cars are well looked after and their materials treated frequently hence the plastics are all fine.
Please make a video about E39 M5 and show the one you visited M539 Restorations with in chrome silver shadow paint. This episode was also very well done and fun to watch !
Seriously, if BMW made cars (and videos) like this now, standard will be fine, I'd buy one. I love BMWs of this era. Brilliant video. Brilliant cars. The ultimate driving machines.
BMW, you should continue making parts for classics just like Porsche does. Don't just quit and scrap (discontinue) it. Just produce when someone orders it. It could take a long time for parts delivery, but at least, I'm sure, many classic BMW owners would appreciate it.
Drove a basic 30 year old E30 that was parked out on the street every day of its life, the metallic paint and clearcoat still looked fresh (safe for the dents, scratches and rust spots). The cloth on the driver's seat was gone, but the wheel and all the plastics were in good shape, nothing sticky or worn badly like on my 20 year old Citroën - both with over 200k km.
Legendary piece of German engineering! V12 and rear wheel drive, with nothing but the best of Bavarian luxury, this is a dream car for sure! It's also the car that 2Pac was shot on. Rest in peace for the legend, but like this E38, legends never die.
I love the humour you both have especially in the back of the BMW 7 series just listening to your humour made me subscribe to your channel, very good script and funny keep it up.
I had one of this shape, back in the day. A 730i, it was seriously underpowered ! Currently I have a 2022 740d, which actually makes more power than the 750iL in the video. It goes like hell ! Superb Car.
My dad had this as a 740i with the 4.4 liter naturally aspirated V8 and 286bhp it was the same refurbished 7 series like this first 750iL it was the ultimate car we had… I loved it 😍😍😍
The glorious E38! Thank you for sharing these.
are you going to retrofit rockets to your next e38?
Coooooming up
So cool!
I expected to see you here to be honest
Project Dubai FTW!!
BMWs back then were so perfectly designed. I wish they would take inspiration from that period for their new cars.
its not that they cant design like thy did. but modern regulations prohibits classic design. everything has to be safe wich compromises the design

e39 was designed by a japanese dude
They actually did with the G70, only uglier smh
@@lexburen5932 also countries like China and their taste influence a lot
Oh my. This was a special presentation. A normal 750iL, the Lagerfeld 750iL, *AND* the 007 750iL?! Amazing.
2:59
Ah, that famous German humour we've all heard so much about
🤔😳
i cried from laughing over your comment ofcourse
this is one of the most timeless cars ever built from bmw… please give the designers a big fat „schmatzer“♥️
I totally agree as I get the thumbs up from everybody who see's my year 2000 E38 in Biarritz Blue Metallic.
My uncle owns a successful restaurant, he bought an E38 when it was new and used to drove me and brother around every-time we visit his restaurant. And yes, he still has it till this day and turn it into a weekend car haha. Its the only reason why I’m into BMWs today haha

It’s been 20 years and the E38 is still the best looking design 7 series with the E32 . It will never change
Love the your humor, guys, is it safe to say that it is quite German? The Cleanex joke was as funny as it was unexpected!
This is the third comment in a week that I can't like.
Cuz it already has 69.
I have a 740iL I am restoring, literally in pieces in my garage. A labor of love and not that difficult to wrench on.
E38 best 7-Series ever.
I owned one. For many years then all the plastics started to disintegrate including wiring. You’ll need new wheel wells and wiring harness minimum. Dump it before it’s too late.
Why can’t Bmw design a 7 series as beautiful as the e38.
What a car.

Because good designers left BMW
It's always exciting seeing E38's in such perfect condition, specially ones as unique as these.
Ahhh der Lagerfeld L7 und der Bond 7er. Schön zu sehen, dass die beiden Autos noch existieren und es immernoch gut haben.
This is one of the best ever built, I had the pleasure of driving one is quite remarkable car. The Karl Lagerfeld and James Bond was a very nice touch especially when you showed how they have done in the movie.
The E38 750il is best BMW of all time. This video should have been 1 hr long
Seeing these old classic cars makes me wish BMW would do restomod cars. Fit modern things or engines but make them look old
As a BMW enthusiast and owner, this channel is so rewarding. Keep them coming 👍
Still the best 7 ever made. so glad i have one in my driveway.
What a collection! The Lagerfeld is so, so special.
Side note, Bond didn't use a Nokia, he had a proprietary (and sadly fictional) Ericsson model JB988.
Ah, the beautiful E38! I believe, it was one of the most beautifully designed car of all time. Hope BMW brings back similar design again.
Do you guys have a L7 too? Would be great to see more about one of them!
The e38 is the type of car that never ages
Had a black 735il in 2010. It was always my dream car because I saw it as a kid in that bond movie. Unfortunately the transmission broke and there were a lot of other problems too. I had to sell it but I’m still in love with this 7 series

Most gangster car ever designed. I love it, thinking about buying one eventually. This body is timeless.. what a great piece of automotive history.
Bought one already?
Wow! You never see movie cars where everything actually "works", especially the stunt cars that can actually be driven like that!
So much better looking than the generations that followed. A true classic !
When your 750iL has a TV in a back, a fax machine, a bar and a telephone, that's REAL FUCKING LUXURY.
*Ultimate and most beautiful 7 Series of all times!😍😎👍*
Well done guys.
The BMW 750iL is indeed the big boss!
Next you should do a video about the E32 750IL and the E38 L7.
It was Tomorrow Never Dies that made me love the E38! The luxury of a limo but the handling of a beast!
Being part of the classic museum, its obvious that these cars are well looked after and their materials treated frequently hence the plastics are all fine.
This design aged like a fine wine.
Today's designs will age like beer.
Hahah funny guys! Well done!
I would love to spend some times in BMW vault to play with some of those timeless toys.. definitely cool !
The E38 - Best 7-series ever. Love it.
O jaaaa 🤩 Fury marzeń. Brak słów aby określić piękno tych aut. 👍👍👍
Thank you so much BMW Classic!!! It's always a pleasure 😊
The E38 is peak. It's understated and classy.
One of the most beautiful sedan car ever made ! My favorite, to be honest :)
Please make a video about E39 M5 and show the one you visited M539 Restorations with in chrome silver shadow paint. This episode was also very well done and fun to watch !
Great Episode ! Interesting, Fascinating, Amazing, Great humor andlast but not least, well presented. Thanks Christoph and Inside BMW Group Classic
I have yet to own an E38... Man, they are beautiful cars. Thanks for the video!
Back when the grill and headlights were in line with one another
Style 32 wheels are still amazing and seriously one of the best if not the best original BMW wheels
Wow that 2 tone 7 series is too nice, I can’t believe all the special options it has.
This generation is the best generation of the 7-Series BMW ever made, and thank you for such a rare masterpiece .
THE Best looking 7 Series Ever. Understatement and Elegance. ❤
The best 7 series ever, the design is aged quite well
Love the rapport between you two, more than the cars. But I seriously wanted that Lagerfeld one back in the day.
This is absolutely insane! true genius BMW engineers and their passion! Long Live BMW
This car has a special place in my heart since I saw the Transporter when I was a teenager
You know you’re going to be shown the real deal in luxury vehicles when the presentors themselves have a german accent
funny german accent, speaking in English... vhtf
Super video, danke für den Einblick… und das Ende ist große Klasse😆
What an amazing car, still in my top 3 and will probably never drop out.
Seriously, if BMW made cars (and videos) like this now, standard will be fine, I'd buy one. I love BMWs of this era. Brilliant video. Brilliant cars. The ultimate driving machines.
The e38 has always been my favorite 7 series model. Thanks for this video.
The 750iL and the 850csi are the best BMW's
Great video, keep them coming but maybe up the length? 2 minutes and 12 seconds per car is not a lot.
Absolutely incredible, “sheer driving pleasure”
i miss mine so much, i cant get over the loss

This is how a 7 Series should look like. Bring it back !
This video is a fascinating insight into German humour. Cool car too.
Best BMW ever
2:59 German humor 💪🙏
and of course a 750iL with only a few tkm on the clock is going to feel like new, also stored in a climatised environment …
As owner of one 750i from '01 (one of last E38) must say, even on my 340+ tousand kms car, there are no sticky buttons...
"For today's standard, it feels a bit like, a tank from the past" - deadpan - amazing stuff
Red-White BMW is marvelous!
Legendary piece of German engineering! V12 and rear wheel drive, with nothing but the best of Bavarian luxury, this is a dream car for sure! It's also the car that 2Pac was shot on. Rest in peace for the legend, but like this E38, legends never die.
Finally a video from BMW classic that I have been waiting for. Thanks for the upload.
I have this car! Lovely to see some recognition of a classic!
Whenever I see the 750il I think about James Bond Tomorrow Never Dies
Did anyone else notice the dent next to the 750il logo😁
Der Raketenwerfer hat mich gekillt. obwohl ich nach den Abschminkttüchern dachte, mehr geht nicht :D :D :D
Wow, definitely one if the most enjoyable video's I have ever watched!
I wasnt ready for that Rocket Launcher
should have more details in the title, the Lagerfield and Bond cars are pure gold
I love the humour you both have especially in the back of the BMW 7 series just listening to your humour made me subscribe to your channel, very good script and funny keep it up.
this car is simply the best design ever on 7 series history.
Timeless design 🙌🏼❤️🔥
"it's hard to impress us", but you made it. What a quality car maniac content!
Just got my hands on a mint E38 740iL recently and it is one of the best BMW's I have owned. Truly a top 10 BMW model.
the car been in that museum its whole life
I owned 01’ 750iL and it was gorgeous. A fine memory.
Where has this channel been all my life?!!! Awesome!
amazing cars and well presented
I had one of this shape, back in the day. A 730i, it was seriously underpowered ! Currently I have a 2022 740d, which actually makes more power than the 750iL in the video. It goes like hell ! Superb Car.
750il is the best looking car till date
That James Bond car was crazy.
Still love the e32 750il- The sound when the engine starts up is awesome...
A classic design with great execution.
These cars are too beautiful than present BMW'S
The most beautiful car of all times! E38!!!
Why have I only just found this page? So glad I have now 🙌
For me, it's the best BMW 750 iL ever.
Wonderful video.
I really like the 2 Grey BMW.
🇩🇪🍀🏆🍀🏆🍀🏆🍀🇩🇪
loved the joke about paper tissues. Christoph has got style for sure
My dad had this as a 740i with the 4.4 liter naturally aspirated V8 and 286bhp it was the same refurbished 7 series like this first 750iL it was the ultimate car we had… I loved it 😍😍😍
thank you for doing this BMW classic, make more, wish I had a V12 BMW 750
E23! E23! E23! Do a video on the original 7er.
Early 728 vs late turbo 745i, maybe a SA 745i for good measure.
Das boot! The greatest sporty sedan after the e38 M5. Timeless styling!!!!
After E39 M5 😀. But for me is E38 facelift on top of list. And E39 M5 together with E46 and E30 M3 on second place together
