Hi both we have been to Scotland many times and we have found out that DONT wear Aftershave or Perfume as you will get attacked by Midges.! I think God put midges in Scotland so it would never become over populated! I suffer dreadfully but they seem to leave my husband alone.Yes we also went on the Calendonian McBrayne Ferry it's great! I love your videos and this one was special to me, since Isle of Skye is a place I've always wanted to go to, but will never get to see in person. Thank you for taking me along! I had to laugh when you said how long 6 hours of driving felt to you . Here in the USA, a 10 or 12 hour drive in one day is considered par for the course when traveling, since distances are so great here.
Thanks so much! Oh I know but it can be super exhausting to drive in the UK because on our way to Skye we had to drive on narrow country lanes for quite a while which takes a lot of concentration. We only stayed there for the weekend.

That walk up over the rocks must have been good for your muscles in your legs! I should think they were acing by the evening? Love your Hard Rock Cafe Tea shirt - I can remember going there to eat back in the 70s, and having an original Tea shirt from then! Your choice of music is always perfect. As for midges, I used to do archaeology and all the archaeologists on the digs wore the head nets. They are wide enough to drape over the brim of a hat so you don't feel claustrophobic. They are lightweight to carry. Skin So Softly by Avon is supposed to deter them. But a handy head net is a huge relief if they are swarming. In Scotland the midges are known to stop trains.

I’am taking my mum on the Jacobite steam train this summer, can’t wait for that. So funny watching you with the midges 😅they are bad at this time of year, my husband always struggles with them too. I loved the cute wee cat 🐈⬛ at the end.

What a fantastic journey you and Joerg took in Skye. Those darn midges!! I can’t believe the ferry ride became a whale watch too!! Wonderful.
Your choice of music is always perfect. As for midges, I used to do archaeology and all the archaeologists on the digs wore the head nets. They are wide enough to drape over the brim of a hat so you don't feel claustrophobic. They are lightweight to carry. Skin So Softly by Avon is supposed to deter them. But a handy head net is a huge relief if they are swarming. In Scotland the midges are known to stop trains.

😢 Midge deterrent apply Citronella Essential Oil to your skin. They also dont like Peppermint Oil, Lavender, Eucalyptus. Beautiful scenery!
