- New innovations are hard to come by in the world of effects pedals. However, I think we might be on to something here.
0:00 Happy Mother's Day!
0:30 Where has Brad been?
1:00 When are you making Modulation Pedals?
1:40 Thanks Juan!
2:58 Analog with Digital Control
5:30 SO MANY LED's (new pedal)

The way you describe focusing on creating a user interface for digital control of analog circuits feels like you were reading my mind. Been workshopping a similar idea for awhile. Can't wait to see what the final product looks like!
These are fantastic episodes Brad! Thanks to you and your team for putting them together. I love playing through my GB every chance I get - what a marvelous pedal it is!
Excellent video! Thank you for sharing your new ideas with us!
YES! MODULATION! You guys have mastered the dirt landscape and I’m excited to see what’s next.
So are we! Things look very bright!
Y’all are taking over my board right now! Replaced two fuzzes with the modular FUZZ and not two days later got a Bloom v2. Both are completely fantastic pedals and are my favorites that I’ve ever owned
Analog time/mod effects + Digital/Midi control = Yes please. Stoked!
I have a prism pedal and I have to say it's awesome. Great job !
I love overdrive pedals that run tubes at proper voltages. I love having different peamps on my pedal board. Then I can get a bunch of colors at a gig
5:30 - looks like Tron meets 90’s car stereos. Love it
Brother I can't wait to add a Jackson Audio Echoplex style delay beside my Bloom and Golden Boy!!!!!!
Also thanks for the quick fix and return on my Golden Boy as well!!!! You're all the best!!!
I’m so super pumped for the new modulation. I’ve been gonna “ask Brad” about if you were ever going to get into that area, and if you are doing it in a new way.... I’m extra pumped. And if you need to see how it will work into an old Tweed Deluxe, come up to TUL and I can hook you up. Lol.
Only 4 years, and such an amazing array of killer products...
That modulation pedal should be called something like “Night Rider” 😃
I love that! :)
@@JacksonAudio That modulation pedal should be called "PSYCHEDELIA" Inspired with Tame Impala's Sound
Looks AMAZING
Can’t wait to get one! Love my Bloom & Prism! Got a great pedal idea. I’ll DM yall & would love to get a half stack out of the deal. Haha! & the #2 production pedal. Lol.
ooooo i hope it has harmonic trem and rotary!
if it does this will totally replace the mobious on my board!
That's a Great idea: Being to Control ANALOG SIGNAL PATH - EFFECTS, with Digital Precision, especially having PRESETS, for Live Playback. I'm currently going to add, Keeley Dark Side, and later, a bit, the Darwin Prince PULSE, and I will definitely use them Both, for different Parts, etc. Gilmour to Hendrix, etc. Along with Your FUZZ. I Love Variety of Modulation Effects.
Great content! Hey, any chance of a dumble style pedal or module for the Asabi?
I have that same Starbucks mug.
I just got it on a trip in St. Louis! Love it!
5:30 wow..... I want that.
You remind me of the CEO at the company I work for. You have a clear passion and belief in what you're doing, and delivering a quality product to the customer, and I imagine that inspires the people around you to do more / want to succeed. Also it's healthy to know when to step away or pass it on. I bought the Golden Boy last fall and it has been cemented to my board ever since. It's quiet on high gain, fantastic low gain / edge of break up and I love the 3-band for differences between guitars or amps. The boost side is just brilliant with the different eq options. Throw the treble boost at my Marshall 1987 or into a high gain amptweaker pedal and it roars! For this new design, did you start with a circuit in mind, a sound in your head, or with wanting a live solution for players? It seems like maybe you started with a sound in mind and it blossomed into that cool project
So kind of you Andy. :) For this new project, we started with a great core sound and asked the question, "wouldn't it be cool if...." From there on it's an endless source of ideas. The trick is stopping at a reasonable point. ;)
I worked with a guitarist who used an Echoplex live all the time. Never had issues with it. Worked great all the time.
Very cool!
I love it. That thing looks like a Neon Demon, which is my vote for a name btw.
Simple/Fun question: Who or what determines the logo and color of your pedal enclosures? A golden color for the “golden boy” seems natural but there are certain colors in the pedal world that take your mind to an iconic pedal (green = TS, Orange = Phase 90 etc). I’m just wondering how much thought actually goes into the logos/color?
I know what you're talking about. When you said Mark Knopfler is your hero as much as Michael Jordan, It was like me saying the same thing. I only play the guitar today, because Mark Knopfler. Musicians are my real heroes too
100%!!
This is cool! Similar to a lot of ideas I’ve had (pots or rotary encoders sticking through a circuit board with leds, etc), but am very slow to implement because of the day job.
Speaking of, are those rotary encoders or 360 degree pots?
Regular pots. :)
How much does cost to the consumer factor into designing a pedal? New subscriber, binge watching past videos lol
Another question, what is a pedal another company released that you wish you would have thought of?
TUBE SCREAMER!!! 😂
Hey Brad. I have a question about your pedals that feature the gain cycling.
Is there anyway you could develop a small add-on 4 button switch which would enable you to randomly access each of the four gain cycles? My rationale is that I play plenty of songs where I might want to jump from the lowest gain setting into the highest.
Thank you. Enjoyed the episode.
I have a question - When manufacturers release an affordable line of pedals that sound as good as their core line, I always wonder why they didn’t start with those in the first place. Can you tell me what dictates product placement and pricing for Jackson Audio given that I’ve just heard you say that you are a player-centric organization?
Pedals I’m eyeing - the asabi and the bloom.
Great question! It’s all factors. How long did it take to develop. Material costs. How long it will take to manufacture and how does that relate to the shops hourly rate to stay in business. All of those things factor into how a product gets priced. If there is a lower priced offering, one of the things that I just mentioned has to shift to account for it.
Dude! Can’t wait! I love all your work.
Question: would you compare the Bella star to the JHS kilt?
And why do people like the broken arrow more than the golden boy or like the golden boy more than the broken arrow? I feel like both have 2 distinct sounds but people are very biased towards one of them. I rarely see someone with both 🤔 (except for me lol)
Thanks guys!
Would love to pick up a modular fuzz soon 😉
I have both and they do sound different
@@kevindefishy do you have a favorite? I have both. The BA sounds more open while the GB feels tighter and brighter
@@nickrocker123 I think BA is also my fav because it doesn’t sound as thin as GB although both pedals have their place depending on the song. Just deciding which midi to get now.
@@kevindefishy which midi switcher?
That modulation pedal should be called "PSYCHEDELIA" Inspired with Tame Impala's Sound
I love it! :)
Do you think the next wave in over drive pedals are going to be remakes of the greats from all the different companies?
So will there be elements of live programmable motion sequence / automations for adding to creating patches.
Not sure I understand the question. Are you asking if there will be lightshows when creating patches?
@@JacksonAudio apart from the light show 😅, will you be able to have a mode to record live automations of parameter movements/tweaks to store within a patch, to extend the sound of the pedal, e.g tweaking the knob between two note vales like 8T/16 , then freak the tone control...recorded modulations that make the pedal parameters Dynamic. Make a pedal called “ Sergeant Peppers Lonely Heart Lights Band “
I thought one of the cool newer pedals was the Earthquaker Device Interstellar
I get it’s just filters, but it has a cool vibe.
Now that the New Wave is out can you say if the device in this video was an early version of it or is this something still to come? I only ask because the New Wave looks nothing like what’s in the video.
True! Think of that pedal in this video as a concept car. You shoot for the moon and learn as much as you can. Not all of it is practical much less the biggest question of all. Are you people going to buy it?
When designing a new pedal format, how do you go about balancing usability with functionality? Often times complex pedals require menu diving, but y'all don't and yet everything makes perfect since. Simply wonderful. If you happen to choose this comment, I would greatly appreciate a Golden Boy! Thanks!
That's always a balancing act for sure. We have some stuff that will have menus etc coming but for now we have purposefully tried to keep things simple and intuitive. Thanks so much for the kind words!
What was the last great song you heard that inspired a pedal design?
Modular modulation pedal. 🙂
Is like Chase bliss automatone format with Leds instead of faders?
Yes I suppose you could say that. They are both used to indicate positions when a preset is recalled.
On the topic of heroes and collabs, if you could work with anyone (alive or not, real or fictional), who would you choose and why?
But is it going to hit the market?
Wish someone would come up with a wah with the ability to have a cocked wah preset.
That's a great idea!
Would love to see a delay from you guys or a chorus! I think you would kill those two.
Whats this like a multi effect deal?
PITCH CHANGE!! Is what you are looking for in your question;. MODULATED STEREO PITCH CHANGE!!! :) Please make that pedeal and I'd be happy to make a demo for you on my youtube channel : )
From a players standpoint...I want small multi-effects pedals that give me the classic sounds with truly simple interfaces. A Mod pedal with 6 classic tones - 3 switches/2 banks...done. A delay pedal with 6 classic delays, not useless "weird shit". I have rebuilt my pedalboard so many times over the last three years...I keep going back to...simple...classic...best sounds. Think user, not effect. Make effects targeted to the user market...
"This... is Jackson audio"
This....is CNN. ;)
Analog reverb? That’s not gonna fit in a pedal that size 😂
Is it stereo output?
Indeed!
@@JacksonAudio awesome I want one!
@@bradleystereoguitaramplifi9616 So do I! :)

soooooooo don't blow $$$$$$ on a walrus M1 just yet...
Love "demos" of gear which never feature the gear. 🤔😴
