I’ve always found my best way is to set long term goals and never weigh myself. Losing weight takes time and seeing little progress for the first few weeks (by far the most difficult time) is deeply discouraging. Let time pass and eventually you’ll see the difference in your clothes and hear people comment on how good you look. To keep the weight off long term requires a change in mindset about what to eat, and replacing carbs with a healthier version can make such a difference on its own.
I tried changing my diets and exercise every week, but nothing works. I keep gaining weight. I'm never going to lose the weight! It's hopeless! I'm a failure in losing weight! Don't say I can try it again because I can't! I quit!😠😭
What helps me stay on course is to write on a wall calendar all the days I did great. Then, when I'm feeling like giving in and having something I shouldn't eat, I look at the calendar and see how well I've done, and I always am reminded that it isn't worth basically "ruining" what I've already accomplished.

This comes at the perfect time! I was just saying to myself this morning "What's the point" when it comes to a healthy lifestyle. Everything is at a plateau right now. Thank you, Dani, for helping me to stay on track. I appreciate you!☺
I started eating healthy, walking 30 minutes a day and doing a workout. I wake up very sore every morning and I really needed a motivation. Thank you🥰🥰
I was ready to quit. I started calorie counting in December and saw some results. SO the last 31 days I made a challenge to do 45 minutes of movement everyday. I've lost 15lbs total. The goal ended yesterday and I only missed two days of working out. But I definitely slipped on the eating. I was so disappointed. Scared I was going to gain weight back plus some. So I typed in weight loss motivation and this popped up. You really hit the nail on the head. I'm not going to quit. I think I just needed a couple of days to figure out what exactly want my journey to look like. Thank you SO much!
Thanks for your inspiration. I have been quitting for my weight loss journey and gain more weight, I think now it’s time to change, I’ll come here after my result
I can attest that The Don't Diet course is AMAZING! Dani's videos are SO inspiring and thought-provoking. Not only for working towards your weight and health goals but also for learning about yourself, what motivates you and demotivates you, and how to be kinder to yourself. Thank you Dani for all you do. You've got a loyal fan here! XO
The fact that I want to click of this videos really shows how much of a quitter I am. I’ve been struggling with weight loss and horrible eating habits. Food is my comfort and I really need to change that.
I'm right there with you. I don't want to do this, I NEED to do this. If not for my current self, for my future self. To give her the best possible life.
I have been thinking to request that you might do a video on this exact topic! I had been following a lifestyle change that started by watching all of your videos several months ago, but fell wildly off the wagon the last week. Yesterday was rock bottom. To see this video this morning has given me the hope and motivation and permission to forgive myself and not quit, but get back on track. I appreciate you SO much, Dani!
I am so glad I have found you!! I have dieted all my life. I have reached the point where I am so discouraged. Your videos have given me a new way to think about the weight loss process. I am committed to doing this permanently this time. I want to make real changes instead of yoyo dieting. I can relate to everything you say. I will be watching all of your videos. Thank you so much for giving me back hope that I can succeed.
Thank you! I've been on my journey for 4 months and I haven't seen the scale move so I started binge eating and I was fed up with myself today , I was getting ready to walk out of the gym and just quit. Thank you 😭
If you're going to the gym, the scale not moving could be from muscle gain rather than a lack of fat loss. Look at other ways you're improving, are you getting stronger? Are your exercises getting easier? The more muscle you gain the easier it is to lose fat in the future
This is the single best piece of advice I’ve heard. Instead of making the cycle of failure and new resolutions easier through continuous practice pick a new weight loss strategy which will become easy with practice. When you’re at the point where you have to make a decision if you’re gonna win or fail, just think about how much easier it will be the next time you need to exercise control.
Hi Dani, I'm finally catching up on your wonderful videos! I love that you said, "Trade criticism for curiosity!" And be kind to yourself! This video is very encouraging and empowering! Definitely will rewatch this again! Thank you Dani💜
I love this. I am in the midst of a very successful weight loss journey and I've plateaued. I just took 5 days off and went on vacation. Now I'm back on it and hoping this has given me the break I need to restart my weight loss progress. I'm trying hard not to quit but search deep for more motivation. This has helped greatly. Thank you!
I was stuck trying to loose those last ‘10 lbs’ for over a year and a half , first because the weight wouldn’t budge, then because of binge episodes that became more and more recurrent and close together. Now those last 10 lbs became 17 lbs and I am feeling totally lost… totally unmotivated and scared. It took me almost three years of total commitment to a diet and exercise routine to loose 75 lbs ( I am a very small person so this was a lot to loose for someone my size). Now all the drive to keep all this going is also totally depleted. I am working 40h a week in an office full of unhealthy, obese people who eat all day long too. I never give into that kind of stuff but after being around them for so long I am loosing my focus on my goals. It took me so long to get to where I was at, and now, in a blink of eye I am seeing everything crumbling real quick right before my eyes and I feel totally powerless to make it stop. I am devastated…
I find that constantly weighing yourself is a BIG demotivator. There are so many things that can cause our weight to fluctuate, so instead focus on internal changes. Do you feel better/stronger? Do you feel energized? Etc. The external changes come with time
Tomorrow I will be going back to the gym! Before the first lockdown (in the uk) I was disciplined and motivated to reach my goal. Now my clothes are snug and I really do not want to weigh myself 😭!
Have you ever seen anything from TeamRH .. a husband and wife there in the UK I've been following ... Richie is VERY blunt, he doesn't push purchases in fact he does have a group who will help you with your diet but he believes and preaches Caloric Deficit achieving it by weighing and journalling your food and daily doing 15,000 steps ... no other exercise necessary .... He and his wife are wonderful motivators ... just thought I'd open the way to you if it helps. Good luck.
Thank you so much for this! I needed to hear every last bit of this video. I've been yo-yo dieting all my life. And as of the start of June kicked myself, I've got down from 16st 5lbs to 13st 8lbs. I still have a long way to go, and have felt defeated seeing that I've slimmed up on my arms and legs, but my stomach is still nowhere near. At this point it'd be easy to quit, and I've been trying to find excuses to stop trying. This video has gotten through to me more than my friends and family have. I appreciate you so much! I hope this video has helped others as much as it has me :)
Happy Monday! Sharing some weight loss motivation for those working on their health and weight loss goals. Looking forward to your thoughts and questions :). The Don't Diet opens again soon, hope to see you there - > thedontdiet.com/
Amazing video! It’s so true weight loss is such a mental mind set process over anything else! It’s so easy to quick but to push thru and not have to restart over and over is the best thing to do. Thank you ❤️🙏🏼
Dani, Dani, DANI!! Wow! You really topped yourself with this "lesson", and I loved every minute of it! Funny how sometimes, certain things just show up at the right time, isn't it? I will absolutely add today's tips to my "jump start" for this Spring, anda mazing year ahead. The "being kind and gentle to yourself" is HUGE, and so very important, OMG! I appreciate very much your tip regarding, when necessary, give yourself a break, and then get back into the groove... How long one goes for a break, and how often, can be quite defeating if not kept in check, don't you think? I can't help but wonder, what constitutes a bonafide break, and how close to "giving up" this would, or could be. Any thoughts to expand on this one important element would be quite helpful to all, I'm sure. Stay healthy, you look fab, and stay Blessed, and THANK YOU, Craiger. P.S. I am also taking your good, very kind words here, and incorporating them towards my new move to a new real estate company... I took a leap of faith, uncomfortable as it may be, but was like, why not? After the usual suspects (negative thoughts, what ifs, etc.) I can't help but think, and certainly owe it to myself to instead, say to myself, "Okayyy, what IF I should succeed, what IF I do produce results, etc..." Reminds me of my FAVORITE quote, by tennis great, Arthur Ashe: "Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can." Cheers
Great thoughts, Craig! Thanks for sharing. As for the break... ask yourself... what feels right. And also remember, when we give ourselves permission to take a break - there' no going into F-it mode because we are not quitting and beating ourselves up. Make sense?
A person should set his goals as early as he can and devote all his energy and talent to getting there. With enough effort, he may achieve it. Or he may find something that is even more rewarding. But in the end, no matter what the outcome, he will know he has been alive.
So true. I ordered his lovely pants but it did not fit. I kept it as my motivation to lose the weight. I tried it on again a few days ago and it went all the way up but could not get it buttoned. I felt good that I lost inches but was still being so hard on myself. I swear I am my worst critic😒
Hey you need not to worry I also put on 17 kg in this lockdown and 3 months back when Emirates started hiring cabin crew (which is my dream job) I got desperate about it and lost 13 kgs in months. U just have to follow a particular routine and be consistent
One thing that has helped me in the last few weeks, is I wake up and call my self a nasty fat gross monster. The rest of the day I don’t feel like eating. I’m practically starving myself and remember this, don’t wake up and call yourself a beautiful person. Don’t wake up and say my body is perfect. Wake up and say the opposite. It has helped me lose a ton of weight recently.
Wow this was right on time!! Thank you! Love the take a break. Though I am not needing a break currently, I love the change in pressure! (Which I did need) I have been doing intermittent fasting for 7 weeks and absolutely love the flexibility but also want it to go fast. I am proud of myself for pushing through because looking back it has went fast 😃.
I do simple workouts for 10-20 minutes a day only but still people say im going too slow and its not gonna get me anywhere but your words helped so much thanks
Damn dani i couldn't agree more this is exactly what i always do I've tried like a million times and after a bit i quit 😥im motivated now, wish me luck this time

This is just what I needed to hear today. I've been struggling to manage, not only weight-loss, but college, finances and my disease. I feel like this can be applied to many aspects of someone's life. Thank you for making videos that are realistic and educational. It really shows that you care about the well-being of others. ♥️
During then lock down when covid hit my country. I lost atleast 50lb. My God I felt so great. I was so confident of my body because i felt really good. But, then school started and now I stress eat. I already gain back atleast 20lb. I needed to hear this. I will start working out again as of tomorrow. Thanks. Oh I love you recipe I am making your banana muffins right now for my son snack tomorrow for school.
I love that comment, "you only fail when you quit"... so I haven't failed because I'm still going even though the outcome is slow, I haven't quit so I haven't failed.
Just what I needed to hear today, thanks so much Dani!! Love your videos, and the recipes you offer to us!! Have you ever done an exercise video on your channel? It would be an honor to work out with you!!! You are very motivating and cheerful, I bet you would be great at it!!! Much love to you and your family, God Bless🥰
It's day 9 and I did complete my today's target of 3000 skips a day but I feel so low. I want to quit but I won't. My new target is completing my tomorrow's workout and not quit
for sure i need to take a break. i dont diet i just watch what i eat. i am known for working out every day for an hour, hour and a half plus once a week cooking, yard work, house work. i always felt i would get lazy if i didnt workout every day. the last two weeks i am lucky to work out 3 to 4 times a week. and it actually is nice.
Honestly. I’m going to start exercising without weighing myself eating healthy and not counting calories. I want to lose weight I want to be skinny I want to hit my goal but these weight trackers and expectations etc weight me down so tough. I want to do this without quitting without getting depressed. I’ve quit weight loss 100s of times and I need this time to push through. For my mental health and self image and happiness.
Love your channel thanks for the motivation and encouragement. It is truly an up and down battle. I work out 4 times a week at least but sometimes we get to much information and then we become frustrated instead of figuring out what works for me.
I can 100% relate. I am working on some fitness goals myself and still haven't cracked the code :). Giving myself the grace and space to keep experimenting.
ardio... I only workout for 30 minutes a day. Many people tell me if I'm going slow like that I'll never get to my goal. I'm still not giving up or speed up so thanks for the motivational words.
I can reach my goal. I find it hard to keep it off. 3/5 years later I’m back to my over weight self. Thinking maybe it won’t come back. Love your ideas. Maintenance is very hard. I’m 67 and hopefully this is the last time I have to diet. I’m trying to create life time habits.
Before covid I was able to lose 12kgs, I was feeling so healthy and good with myself. After a couple years I got lazier and lazier. I slowly started to gain the weight back, I was feeling good anyways but lately I gained even more and I can feel I'm not that strong anymore, and food gives me mood changes and makes me even more lazy. I wanna go back but I feel like I can't make it again, because of my mental health. I will try to go slowly and be good to myself.
I loved this video and I'm going to continue to try to lose weight. but a part of me feels like it's too late for me and I've been wasting my whole life being overweight
It's never too late! C'mon! You can do it and you deserve it, don't let anyone or anything stop you, better late than never🙌💪 LOTS OF MOTIVATION FOR YOU
I have lost 20 lb and now I’m 168lb I have improved my quality of live significantly. My motivation goes down because I don’t understand if I get further life improvement.
hello mam... Thanks for uploading such amazing content. I'd however like to expand a bit upon my problem. I've been into a weight loss journey since more than 2 years now and I haven't quit even once, sure I do take time off following all the doubts about myself that are in my head. At that time when I'm taking time off of my deiting/workout regimes, I go into a revenge mode or what people usually call rebellious behaviour. I eat a lot and stop being physically active altogether. There are often times where even my personal hygiene would take a huge dump and its breaking to the core. Whatever level of success I accomplish during dieting or working out totally fades away over the course of giving up "temporarily" and sometimes I weigh more than I did before starting again. This year has especially been a rocky one, first three months I was doing OMAD and was consistent and motivated until I decided to treat one day as a cheat day. After that very day life has never been the same however there was a time during April-May when I was eating a lot of junkfood but was regularly working out and therefore achieved my lowest weight. Due to some personal reasons, I had to stop the workouts and simulatenously my college reopened and the schedule got messed up. In June, I completed my major. Was back home for further studies' preparations and this very part demands staying at home for more than a year which ultimately means no extra steps/physical movements out of home. I have however still tried to get hold of the right track many times over the past few months and have time and again failed because of the voices inside my head.. Also I feel I have a BED because the addiction of food and sugar is real. The whole September I tried to do OMAD and succeeded, was also skipping ropes and walking long miles the same month but the progress wasn't very impressive and that put me off the weight loss treadmill. I thought and planned more so that I'd have one cheat day and jump right back in but I couldn't. Days passed by and I obviously kept giving myself apt excuses. Fast forward to November, I have been 5 days in again into the weight loss thingy, again with OMAD and consistent one hour fast paced walks (bcs in the name of workouts , thats the maximum I can do with regards to my current schedule) , I have had putting off thoughts many times but still I am going strong until now. Your video spoke to me in a lot of elaborate ways. Thanks a ton, I'll try implementing your suggestions
We must focus on our health and if we don't, we will see the outcome sooner than it supposed to. We get older and our health deteriorates naturally, but why not to take care of it now.
I have lost 63 pounds since 9/15/22. SW: 280. CW: 217. GW: 180. More than halfway there! My guy is taking me to Jamaica as a reward for my hard work. Then, I am going to reward myself with a breast reduction and tummy tuck. Lol
Ive been trying to loose weight since I was 8. I'm 15 now and this year I'm convinced will be my year(so far 1 inch off my waist, 3 off my stomach and 2 off my arms and legs in a month. Its not more because i gave up the last week of February, idk why i just wasnt feeling happy.). I am a medium, some days I'm huge some days I look ok. I have lost so much hope since I've started, so glad I found this video. I really don't want to feel unsuccessful and quit again, it's been 7 yrs... :/
I have a younger daughter and on my weight loss journey I had to understand that although I am on this journey my daughter wouldn't be going on this journey with me . So today she asked me for some soda and I allowed it but now it is in house saying drink me DRINK ME . I'm not much of a soda drinker but today it really tempted me . So I thought, I don't want to do this diet anymore . Then I RUclipsd what to do when u want to quit ur diet . And I found this video. I took what you said into consideration and one thing that really marinated was "be gentle to yourself " i allow one cheat day out of the week and I thought that would be enough but here this soda is looking at me. So I told myself drink one bottle of water and then go ahead . At least if you are are dehydrated you will have the water and this will allow u to drink less soda so . I drank the water and did some laundry . I know this won't help others with the temptation but I feel if I wasn't gracious to myself I would have let it torcher me. Long story short my body was just thirsty and I didn't even want the soda 🤷🏽♀️ I guess this was also a learning experience
Exactly. Don’t change the goal keep the timeline. Never set weight loss goal as an overnight process! Your entire video is so true!! Love your cooking recipes as well. Side bar. Is it possible to list foods that are worth buying organic and ones where are okay not to. Thanks!
Me and food have a difficult relation, I love food so much and I have a huge appetite, me a 96KG person can eat the same quantity as a 130-140KG friend. Right now I am sticking to my diet, and believe the mental and physical battles are real. I either break it or it breaks me, and ain't nothing gonna break me as long as I am breathing. Keep going strong, you'll reach it!

Brilliant! Best weight loss motivation talk I've seen, makes a lot of sense. Really makes you want to go out and do it and not quit.
Hi Keisha! I'm so glad it resonated and was helpful! Thanks for taking the time to let me know :)
First time seeing this video, and I needed to see this video today! I was feeling like quitting today. But, now, I'm more motivated by watching this!
Was searching for something and ended here.. really glad my search ended here... This encouraged me in restarting my weight loss journey...
Thank you!
Don't say you got off of your journey. 😃 It's a lifestyle it never stops you don't ever get off of it and restart. Hope that helps your mindset
Perfect! Enjoy your workout!
Good luck.
@@yvonnedavison2180 never heard of them but I’ll check them out. Thank you 🤗.
Thank you that was helpful.
Much love and blessings to you all ❤️
Happy Monday! Sharing some weight loss motivation for those working on their health and weight loss goals. Looking forward to your thoughts and questions :). The Don't Diet opens again soon, hope to see you there - > thedontdiet.com/
OK great
I needed this thank you
Amazing video!
Make sense?
@@CleanandDeliciousDani Yes, absolutely! Perfect... And, I totally get your point. Thanks Dani! Craiger
This helped me thank you
Thank you for this, it’s exactly what I needed right now
Thank you so much for making me realize so many things I didn't know about myself

A person should set his goals as early as he can and devote all his energy and talent to getting there. With enough effort, he may achieve it. Or he may find something that is even more rewarding. But in the end, no matter what the outcome, he will know he has been alive.
So much wisdom here... love this :)

Wtf?🙁
been here, done it. :'
I know this is about weight loss, but it's so helpful for me to apply to other areas of my life. Thank you!
I agree! It really applies to any goal you may have.
Wow this was right on time!! Thank you! Love the take a break. Though I am not needing a break currently, I love the change in pressure! (Which I did need)
I have been doing intermittent fasting for 7 weeks and absolutely love the flexibility but also want it to go fast. I am proud of myself for pushing through because looking back it has went fast 😃.
You are so wise and kind, Dani. Thank you. ❤️
this lady is such a sweetheart
Yes ofcourse ! Some time to achieve your goal then do estimate your goal not time because some time to achieve your goal it's time
I do simple workouts for 10-20 minutes a day only but still people say im going too slow and its not gonna get me anywhere but your words helped so much thanks
This isn't true I'm starting with 20 mins. You have to start somewhere and as we go along it will be easier to add more time to the work outs.
Trust me 20 min is btr than no minutes at all
you're doing great.. hope you never let the voices of other people become your own
I think it’s great that you’re doing those workouts!😊
this is just what I needed... I have fallen off the track in the past few months and now I need to get back on...
Damn dani i couldn't agree more this is exactly what i always do I've tried like a million times and after a bit i quit 😥im motivated now, wish me luck this time
Wow. This was comprehensive. Thank you for the advice-gold! ✨️

This is just what I needed to hear today. I've been struggling to manage, not only weight-loss, but college, finances and my disease. I feel like this can be applied to many aspects of someone's life.
Thank you for making videos that are realistic and educational. It really shows that you care about the well-being of others. ♥️
It's my pleasure! I'm so glad the videos are helpful. Thanks for watching and for sharing.
Wise words and well said
Good analogy with the baby crawling. At that age, you cannot keep us down. At what point do we start giving up?
During then lock down when covid hit my country. I lost atleast 50lb. My God I felt so great. I was so confident of my body because i felt really good. But, then school started and now I stress eat. I already gain back atleast 20lb. I needed to hear this. I will start working out again as of tomorrow. Thanks. Oh I love you recipe I am making your banana muffins right now for my son snack tomorrow for school.
Thank you. This was very helpful. I'm going to come back to this video every time I feel like quitting.
I love that comment, "you only fail when you quit"... so I haven't failed because I'm still going even though the outcome is slow, I haven't quit so I haven't failed.
This is so me I try to get out of that habit of quitting.
Thank you Dani, extending the time frame is definitely something I think would benefit me 💕
I found that helpful in my journey as well :). Glad it resonated.
I like your hair, Dani. It looks amazing. Thanks for your videos. Simple and friendly 👍👏😍
Thank you this video helped me I always find a way to quite and now in going to try harder not to quite thank you for this video
I'm glad it is helpful, Joanne. :)
It really is thank you agen :)
Thank you for motivate me and giving tips for weight loss journey
This is so good and the best motivation video ever please reply a big fan
Thanks for sharing this ❤️
Just what I needed to hear today, thanks so much Dani!! Love your videos, and the recipes you offer to us!! Have you ever done an exercise video on your channel? It would be an honor to work out with you!!! You are very motivating and cheerful, I bet you would be great at it!!! Much love to you and your family, God Bless🥰
I actually haven't but perhaps I'll have to consider that :)
Same here. I'm a failure for not losing weight.😭
My weight loss goals are on hold while the kids are home for summer break...I am working on maintaining the 10 pounds that I have lost!
Makes perfect sense
I have the hardest time dealing with mood swings during my weightloss programm.
I‘m doing this intermittend fasting thing.
Thank you, Dany for this video! It was exactly what I needed. Thank you very much ☺️
Your hair and makeup are on point Dani. Your videos are so practical and encouraging.

Listen and watch Dani Spies.Period . Conversation over!
LOL, your comments always make me laugh :). Thanks for the ongoing support!
I loved this video and I'm going to continue to try to lose weight. but a part of me feels like it's too late for me and I've been wasting my whole life being overweight
It's never too late! C'mon! You can do it and you deserve it, don't let anyone or anything stop you, better late than never🙌💪
LOTS OF MOTIVATION FOR YOU
I have lost 20 lb and now I’m 168lb I have improved my quality of live significantly.
Lol
This is practical advice for anything in life! Love it!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching.
Thanks so much. This is what I really need to hear today.❤️
Hello sir
Thanks. Just the message I needed today.
I need this motivation.thanks for sharing
Long story short my body was just thirsty and I didn't even want the soda 🤷🏽♀️ I guess this was also a learning experience
happy for you
Thanks. I needed to hear this.💯
Thanks Dani, this was very insightful.
So glad to hear that! Thanks for watching.
Exactly. Don’t change the goal keep the timeline. Never set weight loss goal as an overnight process! Your entire video is so true!! Love your cooking recipes as well. Side bar. Is it possible to list foods that are worth buying organic and ones where are okay not to. Thanks!
Thanks, Kamla! I'm so glad the video resonated and was helpful!
Keep going strong, you'll reach it!
nothing but lots of respect and love for you bud
@@you_are_your_sunshine Thanks a million times man!
