    As a fellow gentleman gamer of senior years, I appreciate your calm delivery, touch of humour and informative analysis. I would however, suggest if possible, an addendum to this video addressing the use of a monitor set up with this rig. Another quality vid, thank you Paul.

      Hi fellow Gentleman gamer. Thank you for your comment. Yes, that's been on my mind a lot lately. I do mostly play in VR, but sadly I cannot livestream a race in VR as it makes my computer break out in a Blue-Screen of death. I think I run out of video memory. The cheapest answer would be to run the sim race on a monitor and live stream it like that. And of course, at the same time I can add a monitor to the rig and create a review.
      I hope to gain some inspiration on what monitor to use when I visit the Sim racing expo in Dortmund in October.

    Thanks so much for this. If only I'd seen it before I bought the Playseat Challenge a month ago! I've been undecided about whether to buy the ART as the Playseat is alright but, being 55 and an old bloke, not really that comfortable after 10-15 minutes. After watching your video I have just ordered the ART with the XL RS seat. Can't wait!! 🙂 Thanks again

      Hi, thank you for commenting and I am glad this video was of help to you. To be honest, I wish I had seen my video before I bought the deckchair sim. LOL, but hey, life is a journey so what can you do?
      Let me know how things work out for you and the ART. It's a bit fiddly to setup, and also, needs some time before you find the right position for the chair, and the angle of the pedals and the wheel. So it's not a five minute job, but once you have it sorted out, you will probably only need some fine tuning before it become super comfortable.
      I would say the ART can be a bit low, for older users, which I find a bit of a problem for getting in and out, but once I am in there, I can stay there for as long as the battery on my VR headset lasts :) Some here who have commented, told me they have placed the whole rig on a metal or wooden stand to raise it a bit. I haven't gone that far yet, as I am managing, but it might be something to think about.

    • @TCRLarson
      @TCRLarson Год назад

      @@OlderGamersPerspective I've now got the rig set up and, after the Playseat Challenge, WOW! What a difference. I'm glad I went for the XL RS seat, it's so comfortable. One thing that did surprise me, as you mentioned, is how low it is. I'm thinking about raising it up but it's not a priority. I've got the wheel and pedals to my liking after some adjustment, and am now looking forward to being able to race without getting back ache after fifteen minutes! Thanks again 🙂

    • @OlderGamersPerspective
      @OlderGamersPerspective  Год назад

      @@TCRLarson Hey, I am so glad it worked out well for you. It's a great rig, but you might find that after a week or so you need to make minor adjustments, just to get it that sweet spot. The lowness can be an issue, but only when getting in and out :) Enjoy your rig. What do you have as a wheel and pedals?

    • @TCRLarson
      @TCRLarson Год назад

      @@OlderGamersPerspective Thanks 🙂 Having played for three hours straight last night (something that just would not be possible for me in the Playseat) I do need to make minor adjustments to where my pedals are...I'm finding my left leg (braking) is aching a bit as I need to angle it just a little too much to the right to be comfortable on the brake pedal. I'm currently using a G29 with upgraded brake pedal spring from MVH Studios. I need to find a way to mount the pedals slightly to the right and it'll be perfect. I was a little concerned about the wheel position as up and down adjustment means the wheel also moves closer or further away but this isn't a problem after all. I've also changed the angle of the wheel deck, raising it up slightly. Now I've got the ART I'm saving for a DD wheel bundle. I only really play GT7 on console so I think my choice of these will be limited but hopefully Fanatec or Moza. I've never tried a DD wheel or a load cell brake pedal so I can't wait 🙂

    • @OlderGamersPerspective
      @OlderGamersPerspective  Год назад +1

      @@TCRLarson I had something similar and I found taking the tilt down slightly on the pedals (I think to it's lowest) and taking the chair back another notch, worked for me, but each of us is different :)
      GT7 is Playstation only? In that case, Fanatec is I think your best bet as Moza doesn't officially work with the PS.

    I very recently purchased the GT Omega Art rig as i needed to be able to adjust the pedal plate due to my chronic back condition i needed to be able to have my pedals almost flat and not high or at an angle as this seemed to pull on lower back and the Art rig was just perfect for this im 62 yrs of age have been gaming and sim racing for many years . I have a Thrustmaster TGT Wheel and load cell pedals i am 5ft 6" and weigh 10 stone i have not experienced any flex in the Art rig whatsoever !! Even so i did purchase the wheel plate support bars ready for the new release of thrustmasters direct drive wheel for the ps5 in november this year , my only gripe with this Art rig is i also purchased the support bars for the handbrake mount to which i have the thrustmaster sparco handbrake on but it will only fit up to the mount if you have the handbrake mount set right back and bolted into the rig at the holes furthest back !! which then positions my handbrake too far back i have mine bolted into the holes on the rig nearest the front and is the perfect position for me !! thats the only real issue i have although theres almost no flex in the handbrake mount when im pulling the handbrake on in game so i dont really need the support mounts i just feel its a waste of money for me when you cant fit them !! I purchased this rig without a seat as i already had one from my last older rig from gt omega for £179.00 The rig is really really good and im very very pleased with it !!

      @OlderGamersPerspective  3 месяца назад

      Hi, glad to hear the Art rig is working with you and is allowing you to sim race with a back condition. I also have some back issues, and so far, apart from getting in and out of the rig (it is very low) I have been fine.
      The handbrake you mention is interesting as I have been thinking about getting a handbrake for my rig for rally driving, but I am unsure what to get. What do you have and can you recommend it? Also a good tip about the handbrake mount, I'll make sure this is something that I can use before I buy it.
      I also had a similar purchase regret with my flight sim additions to this rig, but that's mostly because I don't get much time to do flight siming... BUt hey ho, it's there in the future if I need it.

    • @tb6539
      @tb6539 3 месяца назад

      Hi thanks for your reply i personally have and highly recommend the thrustmaster sparco replica handbrake its a very solid premium handbrake / gear shifter you can use as either its a hefty piece of kit and looks totally awesome !! it mounts straight onto the art handbrake mount and if you have the thrustmaster 7 speed gear shifter that actually comes with a bracket to mount to the side of the sparco handbrake. The sparco handbrake is very expensive at around £249.00 but its well worth the price and adds that extra immersion when playing rally games you can adjust the sensitivity of the handbrake in game menu some people have two of these one as the handbrake and one as the sequential gear box !! i will be getting another one too hope this helps in your decision making thanks terry

    • @OlderGamersPerspective
      @OlderGamersPerspective  3 месяца назад

      @@tb6539 That is a lot more than I wanted to pay, but if it can double as a sequential shifter as well, that does make it tempting. I will have to look into the reviews. Thank you for the tip.

      Hi, thank you for commenting and subbing and liking :) Good to meet a fellow older gamer. Yes, the cockpit really does need a lift off the floor, just enough so that I don't thud down so much, or have to scramble out with the help of the dog. And yes, that will be easier on my knees. Just need to find time to do it :) With the Dortmund sim racing expo in just under two weeks, and the release of the Quest 3 in just over one week, I am pretty sure that's not going to happen this month :)

      The GT Omega, with this chair I bought, are light years away from the deckchair sim racing seats in terms of comfort. I really couldn't get on with the Next Level deckchair one I tried and sent it straight back. Since I bought the GT Omega ART, I have never looked back.
