1984 was the first year for rectangular shaped headlamps on Freightliner cabover semis. If I'm not mistaking I believe 1999 was the last year for rectangular shaped headlamps before they went to the Argosy models in 2000 which have single round shaped headlamps instead of dual ones.
My Freight is 93' 104 " cab.with premium diamond tuck cloth interior.. . 425 Cat.. 13sp/24.5 T/R.. Just over 200" W/B.. I'm in very very slow restoration process.. Mack has coe truck with hydraulic cab lift.. Called "power-packer".. It's next on my list... Great COE collection man.. When you getting k100e BJ bear.. Or maybe covert one of yours to aerodyne???

I love watching people get them old cabovers and restore them I've always loved them cause that's what my dad drove for along time and I use to go out with him on the weekend and summer when I was out of school loved seeing different places and the mountains I miss that witch buddy of mine drives big truck to but its a long nose Pete stand up sleeper and I just now started watching ur videos and I done see Im going to like them cause I see more than one cabover so I'll be watching more of them

If only that truck could talk, I'll bet it could tell some stories. Those "Tennessee Steel Haulers" used to bring steel to our yard sometimes, and some of those guys were straight up outlaws...
Except I’m a mechanic and he isn’t and my trucks will all run Candy will be running this weekend if all the parts arrive. I pulled the engine out of Dee Dee yesterday and it will have the 8v92 in it relatively soon
@@JamesPretty He has 2 that run a KW100E and a Pete 362, He is not a professional mechanic but he tries hard and that is a big big plus in my book, I would help a guy like him anytime.
Lots of Bugs in there. Best time I’ve found for getting rid of them is middle of the night. Yep Frieghtshaker put that plate of steel on front middle and back panel above the cab mounts to give it extra strength in those areas. Helped with cracking at those points is what I was told by an old timer long ago. That 8v92 should fit right in that chassis you should have the necessary mounts if you need them on your other chassis. Doesn’t look like your missing that many pieces at least. Get some of the inside work done and it’ll be good! Be careful working with that cab held up that way tho!
Served my time on the hot wash haha ,only way for them manky honeys. Ole diesel steam cleaners. Freightliner looks great too why hi delores! A great addition for sure .

You can get hydraulic jacks with the electronic option for dump trailers. They come with handles for maunal pumping or the electronic pump. Cool truck. Gotta love the Freightliner cabby's. 70 series 12v70? or 12v71? 70 would be a 4 stroker though... 8V92 be 2 stroke and a time tested motor. See them in the old Buses a lot :-)

I'm looking at buying an 84 single axle freightliner cabover with the cummins big cam. Are they any good? Any common issues? I want to hotshot with it
I’m not a fan of Cummins engines. I have four of them now in various stages are tear down. I guess it’s just personal preference
so what's the long term plans for the cabovers to work a couple or all of them or hobby play toys? I'd like to get me one some day hopefully
