As a healthcare professional id like to say you Sir are a legend. Simple straight talking
This video has been extremely helpful during my recovery from prostatectomy surgery. Performed your pelvic floor in conjunction with Kegel exercises daily. Eating right and exercising (2.5 mi brisk walk daily). In five months I have went from 300+ ml leakage to now 17 ml daily. I am very confident within a few more months will be continent .
One of the best videos about kegels I've seen, very grateful to have learned some progressions for the exercise!
Ron in New York here. Thank you David. This is the best explanation on the web by far. Helps a lot!
3 points
1 - this guy is hilarious while divulging some very very useful information.
2 - he is Ozzy
3 - he looks like an older version of Glen McGrath the piegon.
Thank you sir.
Thanks for the upload David. It's been of great value.
This is an excellent, excellent video. Very clearly explained. It is nice to see a description of the pelvic floor catered to men. More importantly, I love how you gave exercises at the end to strengthen the pelvic floor that go beyond the traditional Kegel exercises.
Thanks for such a wonderful video!
Will give it a try...Many thanks for taking the time to post this
Thanks David. That was the most informative and easy to understand exercise program that i have found so far.I had prostate surgery in january 2012,and have had 'dribble' problems ever since. You have given me great encouragement that i might be able to stop this embarrassing problem. Kind regards Dave in the UK
Hi David. I have gone thru few videos on this subject but yours is the best and simple way to explain Pelvic Floor Muscle Exercises. Even the demonstration of the exercises further clarifies everything. Thank you. Also thanks to Charles for uploading this highly useful video.
Dawin
Thank you for this free information much appreciated
By far the best description and range of exercises of 5 pelvic floor videos I have watched.
I like his style of explaining these exercises. There are likely a bunch more you can do, but this keeps it simple so that maybe you'll do them.
Thanks for your post Ivar. Glad this video provided you with some help and advice. Good luck!
Thank you so much david!! god bless you !!! your video is very clear and informative and definetly ettective
Thank you David. You have created wealth for so many thousands.
Thanks David. Great video. very helpful
Dear David, I am very impressed with the quality of your communication skills and completing this video which has the clarity and focus to transmit information. You take a serious and sometimes complicated issue and transmit this knowledge with out frivolity, verbosity or trivialization. Bravo!
I had the pleasure of meting and sitting down with David for about 3 hours, and his knowledge and understanding of the prostate cancer is invaluable . He told me the good , the bad & the ugly about the before & after operation & no bullshit .. , great man to speak to his video is very help full..
Thanks David, just found your video, I will begin on the exercises immediately, very clear video - to the point and and easy to understand. I hope they work for me - having a lot of issues with my bladder at the moment . I wear a pad (only at night) I seem to wake in time, couple of times a night, but when I start traveling to the toilet my bladder does not hold, and I wet the pad, sometimes worst than others. This happens about one night a week or so I hope the exercise work _ Thanks again.
Your explanation is the clearest I've found - I wasn't doing step one at around 2:25 thanks
Thanks David...very helpful indeed and excellent explanation.
Thank you so much for the information I look forward to trying it
Having just had my prostate removed I found this video very helpful, thank you.
Thank you, David for the very concise and detailed description of how to do Kegel exercises . I haven’t had surgery , but I’m assuming my prostate is enlarged because of the difficulty I have ( and dribble ) in urinating . I currently take Tamsulosin and plan to augment treatment using your guide to these exercises . Well-done , Chap ; I truly appreciate your efforts . 🙏🏽. George Lewis, Sr. in the Dominican Republic
David- very well presented and user-friendly program for me as I am post radical robotic prostatectomy and was unsure how and when I might be able to curtail the incontinence seen as I bend at the waist, cough , sneeze, or simply fatigue, or when still semi-somnolent at night but need a trip to the bathroom to void. Sometimes that trip can be associated with the incontinence
great video ! thank you !
Excellent instruction - thanks Dave
Gracias por la información...voy a practicarlo...👍👏👏
Thank you David.
I found your video when generally searching for advice on pelvic floor strengthening exercises...really excellent and all the way from the other side of the world ! I am very satisfied with my progress in regaining bladder control, after a Laparoscopic Radical Prostatectomy in August. I started working hard on the exercises in May prior to my op. and gradually built them up again post op.I am now close to complete control. Very many thanks again for making this information available to me.

Thank you ! Educative and helpful / great for showing the exercises too . 😉👍
Thanks for your feedback Magali
I've just had the TURP procedure but incontinence is currently proving to be an after-effect. This video is REALLY useful. Many thanks.
AlanSturgess I hope that things settle soon and glad to hear that the tips in this video are helping. Incontinence after a TURP is usually due to an overactive bladder and settles with time. If it persists talk to your dr about your options.
David Many thanks for the clear and detailed explanation of the exercises. Much appreciated
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for your help - it was very helpful
Wonderful Doc!!!! your best
I too just had my prostate removed and this video was incredibly helpful. Very clear and thoughtful presentation. You would fortunate to be nursed by Mr Hughes.
How are you doing now
Thank you for this. Already seeing a difference.
BPH? I'm starting to notice it as well. I was getting up to pee 3-5 times a night.
Amazing, I can try that, thank you Sir,
Best explanation so far of all clips I have seen, many thanks. Ian
Glad it was helpful👌🏻
Thanks Dave will give it a go prior to the old laser and hope for the best .
A very nice and proper video.
Thank you.
Thank you very much for your service and great advice Doctor .
It's my pleasure
Great advice! Thank you.
David, nice job. I am both an NP and a prostate cancer survivor, I like the way you presented the exercises and your information . It will be helpful to many men.
Thanks Ja.
Best video. Three weeks out of surgery. I believe with following your video I’ll be good to go. Thank you from the Chicago suburbs.
Great news Ken!! Glad to hear that u r doing well👌🏻
Thank you for explaining in details. Doctors talk about kegel exercise which only reduces liking
Thank you David. Your video was incredibly helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for that. I am here as i have overactive bladder which is making my life a nightmare at times esp travel. I gave an expert what amounted to a week of my wages , to no result, and she didn't give me the exercises you have given us free here. Every blessing from Ireland!
great stuff. I thank you so much.
Thats a brilliant way to describe it, close lift and clamp
Thx for that and glad it made sense!
Very good explanation.
Thanks David. Great video. Very helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you .i am going to do that now on .
Jay Josh good luck!
Brilliant! Complete and thorough. I wish I found you first. Thank You.
Michael J.E. Slavick III 一a great presentation. I am wondering if sexual activity especially oral sex is also a good pelvic flor exercise
Very nice instructional video. I am two weeks post op and it will come in very handy. Thank you
Your welcome👍🏻
Thank you for sharing this video with me and many others. Much appreciated!
Look forward to doing these exercises David - love the Aussie humour!!!
good luck! I hope they help with your progress. All the best👍🏻
Thank you Sir and Many Thanks from Canada!!!
You are very welcome, hope all is good over there! Good luck
After 1 week of having a TURP operation I started the Pelvic Exercises and one week later it started to work and now I am back to normal. Excellent video!
How much did it take to get to normal?
An excellent video /tutorial for men (or women) to strengthen the pelvic floor muscles before having and after having surgery especially like me a prostate procedure. David has a way of putting the information across and I found it so easy to follow. The hardest bit is remembering to do the exercises - I try whenever I think about them and whatever I am doing.
Thx for your feedback John. Good luck👌🏻
@@TheProstateClinicTPC Thanks mate it is by Thulium laser which I see is one of the latest techniques so heres hoping those exercises will be helpful.😀
Brilliant- thanks, David. I’m due to have a prostatectomy in the next two weeks and this is the most straightforward description of pelvic floor exercises I’ve seen. 👍
Good luck Ian👌🏻
@@TheProstateClinicTPC Thank you! I’ll let you know how my recovery goes!
Really well explained
Great information. Great exercise. Thanks for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it
I’ve just had the catheter removed this morning. David Hughes was recommended by my prostate clinic. I’ll do his exercises and report in a few weeks!!
Good Luck Gary!
Thank you for sharing the advice, this is such an important topic for men and sometimes the focus is very much on women. You explain the exercises really well.
I'm a cancer patient. Recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. Soon they will remove my prostate. I think this is a good exercise. Seem to me it's not only works for your bladder it also work's for your to get rid of the body fats as well
I LOVE YOU DAVID ... THANKS A LOT. i have recently had my prostate removed . since starting your program in the ist month i had 3 nights where i did not have to get up during the night to go to the bathroom for the ist time in decades !!! for the 2nd month i had 4 nights of uninterupted sleep and now for the 3rd month i have had 12 nights. just wonderful.
the day time leaking has not changed very much BUT 5 days ago i talked to a guy who said his urologist said to practice stopping and starting the urine flow 10 x a day. this has seemed to switch something on in my body and i am now getting rapidly improving day time leakage results. ......................... many thanks from new zealand.
Glad to hear that things are improving! Good luck
Hi David. I have just had a bladder neck incision and TURP procedure and found the information in your video very helpful, thank you. Maybe my procedures could have been avoided / postponed if I’d had information about these exercises earlier. The UK NHS gives very limited information. It's a shame they don't give out copies of your video as I'm sure lots of people with urinary problems would find it helpful.
How’re you doing now?
However thank you for putting this video out, there is a lack of information out there for men and also a misunderstanding of the need for men to do these exercises. Even if you havnt had surgery- strengthening these muscles brings better control and an increased response in your sex life.
Superb Illustrations..Much Appreciated
Thank you! Cheers!
great video. am at 9 weeks post surgery and still struggling. guess slight improvement but feels like never going to get there. is there a timeline ?
Biggest take away... do Close, lift, clamp exercise 10 times a day... high frequency was an eye opener..... Thx
Thanks for all of your comments. So glad that the video has been of so much use to so many people.

I'm looking for other people that use the crunch
I have not Had surgery, But complete in cognates
Great video, I guess I been doing them wrong the last two months. I had a TURP procedure and I been leaking ever since. Do you feel this will help my situation too. I think it would since I still have my prostate, I had this procedure January of 2022. I guess if I hear it from you or someone else that's dealing with this. It would put my mind at ease and I would know down the line, this will help me from leaking. Thank you for the video, it was excellent
Many Thanks Doctor !
Most welcome!
Where did you see a Dr. ? He said right at the beginning hes à nurse
Thanks sir
Greetings
Great quality
Thanks
These exercises are great for opening up the hips - thanks a lot for sharing!
The AbStand we carry is perfect for someone at the office that wants to work their abs. Hope you'll come check us out!
I've been advised I have to do these with HOLEP laser surgery coming up for benign prostate Hyperplasia. Let's hope it works. Thanks for posting. I'm in the UK.
@Ken Stott You'll be ok but remember there are side effects. It takes a while to get over. I was in surgery for 2.5 hours. Make sure you drink plenty of water. Good luck
gr8 Sir... thanx a;ot
Excellent.. thanks. Also works with BPH it seems. Helps me.
Thx for the feedback. Good luck👌🏻
Thank you. I used this in preparation for my surgery for about a month. I'm 2 days past my catheter removal and at about 95% continent. Exceptions are a certain movement or a sudden cough or sneeze..thx!!
That's awesome news! So glad to hear that this video was of benefit for you. Good Luck
super info thak u sir
Your welcome glad it was helpful!
do you do all three of these exercises the first group close lift clamp, then sit ups, then and cough and chair or do you alternate them?
Great advice
Thx Jeff👌🏻
hello, I talk about mens issues including mens health, i would like to ask if these exercises are effective for prostatitis and if so would you consider discussing it with me sometime?
Thank you for making this video. I think you should make an app! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for the idea! Working on developing this channel atm but maybe one day!
Is urination while standing is okay in prostate ?
Hello Sir keep doing what u r doing, U r doing a great JOB.
Thanks Cassandra for your positive comment! Good luck
Thanks so much for posting this. I’ve got my op in a few weeks so am starting these exercises in ernest. Very well explained throughout.
Glad it was helpful!
Good stuff
Just watched your informative video. I hope it helps with my leakage. Cheers
Good luck!
Excellent teacher thank you! Question: how long does it take to reach the point where the leakage is only occasional? And is it possible to reach a point where the leakage virtually never happens?
It depends on the individual. There are certain criteria which influence the speed with which men recover following surgery. These include age of the man at the time of surgery, size of prostate, where nerve sparing was performed and on surgeon technique. Hope you are doing well.
@@TheProstateClinicTPC Is anyone researching in detail why some men never recover after prostate surgery their continence or erectal function even with nerve sparing? (Even with aggressive rehab)
Doctors say things like “it just kicks in” which is not medical language. Their state of knowledge is embarrassing.
Someone must be researching this no?
Thank you.
Good introduction, pelvic floor exercises were simple and well explained.
Not sure that crunches especially obliques are really going to be a priority or going to work directly for PC muscles.
The muscles you need to work with the 'team' of pelvic floor muscles are the TA which is a deep muscle that wraps around the 'waist' inserts/ originates from the ribs and spine to pelvis.
However thank you for putting this video out, there is a lack of information out there for men and also a misunderstanding of the need for men to do these exercises. Even if you havnt had surgery- strengthening these muscles brings better control and an increased response in your sex life.
Also check out Pilates exercies but beware there is a lot of rubbish out there in the pilates world too
great video thank you can you tell when i can start the crunch floor exorcize, I am tree weeks out of the OP thank you brian
Hi Brian, I recommend to my patients to start the crunches 6 weeks following the robotic approach. Ask your doctor when he/she is happy for you to start these exercises. Good luck!
Hey Charles, one little issues, i have done what you have told me too. However i cannot urinate anymore. Its been 6weeks now with no flow of wee. How do i over some this?
Thanks for your time. Jeff
