One of my heroes. K'naan is a special artist. A few just shine brighter and we have to appreciate them whilst they are amongst us. Keep on shining K'naan!
I was luck enough to tour with this genius whilst he was the opening act for Xavier Rudd. That was over 15 years ago now. Such a blessed moment in my life
+andrewsmith373 K'naan rocks. One of the greatest poets. But don't want to compare. Not with Drake or anyone. All have a place. That said, K'naan is special. Very special.
When i heard this song as a kid i was in the darkest place. Life was shit. Knaan helped me pull through. Im welling up listening to this rn. Bro thank you
I noticed that K'naan never recorded a mindless or meaningless song unlike most of the music in the radio today. he just does more love songs than back in the days, but still he's one of the best and a very conscious poet.
forget the pop sound everyone else's got. Please Knaan, Oh Please, Make More Music Like This!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! keep the african roots sound and the poetic lyrics. luv this song forever, and luv the intro, "until the lion learns to speak."
I'm glad my Detroit alternative rock station recognized his talent and aired if rap gets jealous from the troubadour album....and i was eager enough to hear more of him and learn more from him to go backwards in time to discover the crown jewels of a dusty foot philosopher.
amazing, i cant find the right words to describe this beautiful song. this is one of the greatest rap songs ever, period! and i agree with you guys, he should do a whole album together with matisyahu.
very real artist this should take up radio airplay but people want simple minds and thats sad when k'naan has a million times more talent than anything ive heard on the radio
hip-hop isn't just about about guns it's about are struggle. So from afrika bambaataa to tupac to nas to will smith(old music) and now Knaan it's all in the game. Peace to my brothers in america; peace to my brothers in south america(you know who you are); peace to the aborigines in Australia; peace to the aborigines on the earth(they know the have no original people; peace to the brother and sisters in the motherland(from morocco to Nigeria and from Somalia to south africa). Peace to all black
Other then Wavin Flag...this just happens to be the tune I chose to check K'naan out...I dig it,man...From an old canadian white girl....Peace and Love to all!!!
The world needs more knaans instead of paris hiltons knaan has been through so much but instead of sitting there and living life through he's fighting against whats happening in african countries the only way he know how...music all i want to say is Knaan you are a legend.
I loved him on TV In The Radio where he went hard on Wales track, this dude is easily one of the saviors for hip-hop, Lupe, Wale, J-Cole, Wiz Khalifa, etc.
I've listened to this 4x in a row now.. I listen to it everyday. I miss my people, I'm not going to snow anybody but it tears me up every time. I no longer find myself in the corner huddlin' with those angry men but the last one standing is the only one strugglin', it fucking sucks. I miss y'all...
God this is a breath of fresh air. I'm so tired of main stream rap. It always about drugs sex and money. This is like older rap, where they actually made music about something passionate, and something that mattered, not just about their "Cash money"/"Money in the bank" Seriously, this is one of the best rap songs I've heard.
Its honestly such a shame to see a song like this not get many views. He deserves more. Much more..
😮oh no doubt brother more and more luv
WORD, I remember this. Alwayz loved it even today. I'm 50 so this is da type of music I want to hear. Btw can you hear where Eminem got his style from
I'm here today wondering the same thing!
One of my heroes. K'naan is a special artist. A few just shine brighter and we have to appreciate them whilst they are amongst us. Keep on shining K'naan!

He's a genius, a poet, a survivor, is one of those singers who not only sing, but actually say something.
I was luck enough to tour with this genius whilst he was the opening act for Xavier Rudd. That was over 15 years ago now. Such a blessed moment in my life
