Just found your channel through this video.
I was there for this show too… a part of the New Jersey Southern/Combined Ntrak layout in the Mallory building. Our clubs go up with a layout every year, and I rarely get to see much of it because I’m always at the layout! Thanks for a nice summary video. It’s a truly jaw dropping experience the first time you go.
I ALSO took a detour up to East Deerfield to look at that yard. I’d seen it years ago, but wanted to get another look at it post merger. It used to be a Guilford/Pan Am yard, but after the purchase by CSX, it apparently has gone to a new RR, Berkshire Eastern (BERX), which now services the Patriot Corridor. That was a former Pan Am/NS partnership, but the line is now jointly owned by CSX and NS. There really was some crazy variety of Patch Out there. I wish I’d seen that BAYL former CN unit. Nice catch there.
You’ve got a cool channel and I am now subscribed! 😊👍👍
Ps: how was that Kirkland whiskey? I was thinking of trying their Gin. Their wine was actually pretty good at a more than fair price.

The Kirkland has been good to me so far 😉

Where you in the Young building Saturday morning? You look familiar, it was my first time there. A whole lot of eye candy 😊.

Nice video. This was also my first year attending and shot a ton of video there (which is on my channel). It is truly an experience to see all the manufacturer's (both large and small) displaying their products. The layouts were all incredible. I am planning to go again in 2025. It is a bit of an investment of time and treasure, but the ideas one walks away with are priceless.

It's the best video I have seen so far describing the show, well done! I have not gone yet, I was wondering if it was worth it not able to see exactly what was there. You convinced me ;) Hopefully the Canadian dollar will go up to lower the cost...

Great coverage of the show. Looked like so much fun. Thank you for the food pics. My wife is so glad they brought back the Dutchie. I really liked the “No Drooling” sign. Haha, as if I’d follow that ask. I won’t touch, ask dumb questions, nor will I steal. But don’t drool? Sorry, no can do. 🤤

Thanks for a different view of the show. I've been the last two years (traveling from California) and have barely seen half of the show between the two trips since I've been working in the MRC booth both years. Lots of very interesting sights that I've missed, maybe next year I'll escape the booth and explore the better living center finally.

    • @cpwhiskycreek

Sounds like a common theme for many of the vendors.

I'd imagine so. We will have more news on the MRC Nexxt system soon, the Throttle and Gateway are going out to testers this month (meeting one club on Feb 10 for testing). The CS will be going through testing next month!

it was great seeing you at the show.. for sure a costly trip, but everyone has to do it once. and ya. 4 or 5 years do it again. that was my fourth time going, 3 years between the first two trips and then down with miniprints for the last 2 years.

Loved the video but drop the distracting terrible music next time. I’d rather hear you clearly and the sounds of the trains running. Thanks for taking the time to video so much.

At 14:01 on your video you showed the GM Fishbowl bus that was on display in the parking lot. I spotted it in a distance on your video when you first arrived at the show. I figured you'd never mention it nor show a close-up photo of it and for showing it I thank you. I couldn't read the name of the bus company painted on the side. Do you recall what it was? Any idea who brought the bus to the train show? I have a collection of vintage buses {transits and a suburban - gasoline and diesel} and electric trolley coaches from the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's but I don't own a Fishbowl. Several have been saved, including a beautifully restored one owned by a friend of mine who's in the used bus business. It looks and runs like brand new.
And yes, I have a nice collection of model trains, mostly O and G scale. To me, HO is too small, but I have some. I also have a large collection of model buses, trolley coaches and street cars. I even have model bus terminals, including a mint Keystone Toy Company terminal from the early 1950's. I even have the original box. I bought it from a guy on E-Bay who's mother had it stored in her attic for years. The terminal had belonged to his late father and he wanted it to have a good home.
The Keystone bus terminal has a very interesting story. Seventy-one years ago, I was a seven year old kid. My father took me to a big toy store and I saw the awesome large terminal, complete with a bus. I begged my father to buy it for me, but it was an expensive toy. My mother was pregnant with my brother and my father needed every cent he had and simply couldn't afford it. I remember crying when I couldn't get it. But I always remembered it, for many years. Finding one that isn't broken these days or missing the bus is impossible, let alone in mint condition in the original box. So decades later, I finally got the bus terminal. Interesting that I've always been interested in trains, buses, trolleys, subway trains and mass transit all of my life, And I'm the only one in my family that ever had any interest in it. I guess you could say that I'm a life-long transit fanatic, someone who is extremely enthusiastic about it. I've been all over North America, including Canada, riding and filming transit systems. And I rode many long since gone famous named trains over the years.

Connecticut Railway and Lighting was the company. Heath did an in depth review inside and interview you might like ruclips.net/video/WnPlKvgv220/видео.htmlsi=gcZiiEdeVp0weWGs

Thanks for shooting the video and presenting it here. I hoped we could go but had to miss it. I have to admit it though, your title makes it sound like the show was a bad experience.

    • @cpwhiskycreek

The bad thing is the cost, which depending on how you do it could be a lot cheaper then how I did it

Thanks for the great overview of the show. Would cost me quite a bit to fly out there from the west coast but maybe one day. Attended our local model railroad show and that was pretty good - easy to lose your money though! And I do the same as you: skip any vendors that don't seem to want to support us N scalers.

I `m in NH, all the sights spoke of Springfield, BUT never mentioned the state. I thought it was Virginia, Ohio, or GOD knows ware. Just train layouts, no venders or vintage used trains for sale? I guess I've not been missing anything.
