Blues legend Buddy Guy did his rendition in the late 60’s which this SRV version is basically a cover of 🔥

A lot of the great guitarists looked up to Buddy Guy and watched him play.. SRV, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton and many more.. Saw Buddy front row in 2013 OMG ❤

They were in fact great friends@@johnconnell5086 and Buddy Guy received some royalties after Stevie recorded Mary Had a Little Lamb. I think he always appreciated SRV for that and Stevie showed off his range in this rendition...just compare it to Texas Flood and you have a pantheon of creativity.

Agree. And I think Stevie's solo after Reece's solo at about the 2:00 mark is just classic SRV. Gives me shivers every time I hear it.

SRV used the heaviest strings on his guitar which makes you appreciate that his 'shred' capabilities were still on par with the virtuoso shredders. It makes my fingers hurt just thinking about it. No one like Stevie.

You may appreciate "Ain't Gone n' Give Up on Love" Live @ the Capital Theatre...SRV writing, singing, playing peak.
No behind-the-back stuff, just straight grown-folks music...but brings his voice into the spotlight and a solo that's eye-watering. There' s a little acknowledgement smile of the applause that is rare & endearing.
.A real 'purity' test that is a focus on real blues...and the complete package he delivers.

I treasure that smile that was captured. It's so gratifying to see that he really felt connected and appreciative of the responses of the audience members to everything he gave and meant in the song. Yes, Stevie... you touch our souls. We're with you. Love you forever.

Excellent reaction Maddie. If you want to see his greatest masterpiece that you will always want to listen too when you need comfort or healing from any type of bad vibes then please react to his
"Riviera Paradise" live in Austin Texas. Then and only then will you know how amazing he truly was and what we're all missing out on? Its the tune God invented him for to create and leave to us all for all time. I kid you not. And you get blessed with an extra solo thrown in for nothing but I won't say from who? Its a surprise just for you? Oh and your duet back an forth was on point. If you want to hear a guitar actually speak then listen to him playing Leave my little girl alone. Epic.

Was delighted to see you circling back to Stevie Ray but this version is almost boring compared to Austin City Limits 1989🎸🎶. It is longer with 🔥 🎸solos plus Reese Wynans on the piano adds so much with his fantastic solos. Any song performed at ACL 1989 is 🔥 as well as from the Capitol Theatre 1985 which also features Reese. Reese joined DT in August 1985 and added so much‼️ The arrangement for this song originally came from Buddy Guy, one of Stevie's musical influences and good friends. You owe it to yourself to watch the high energy and awesome version, trust me‼️✌️💙. Thanks for bringing this today Maddy‼️ loving your channel🎶

Please, I would love for you to react to 'The Band' that consisted of Levon Helms (vocals and drums, etc), Rick Danko (vocals and bass, etc), Robbie Robertson (guitar), Richard Manuel (vocals and piano, etc), and Garth Hudson (organ etc). Started together as Ronnie Hawkins backing band. They broke out on their own, introducing us to a new experience called 'Americana' music. The played Woodstock (69) and were asked by Bob Dylan to back him with a transition from his folk style to a electric style music. The Band call it quits with a lavish farewell show at San Francisco's Winterland Ballroom on Nov. 25, 1976. Filmed by Martin Scorsese, this documentary features standout performances by rock legends such as Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, Joni Mitchell and Muddy Waters, as well as interviews tracing the group's history and discussing road life.
The top songs that I recommend to reacts to are from The Last Waltz:
    1. Up on Cripple Creek 2. The Shape I'm in
    3. Who do you love, with R. Hawkins
    4. Don't do it
    And many, many, many others.

Love SRV. For a great guitar sound on acoustic guitar, check out the Australian, Tommy Emmanuel. It's an old song but his version of Classical Gas is pretty good. Glen Campbell, Roy Clark and Chet Atkins weren't slouches either. :-)
