I went to a musical theatre camp one year where after auditioning, this was the song I was placed in. My duet partner was another female. Then my partner for the life of her couldn’t remember what order the lyrics went (we had another verse thrown in ours as well) so the leader of our small group was like “hey you’re just going to sing the first line of every verse to.” You had a 12 year old alto and a 16 year old soprano trying to best each other in a small college stage room and it’s apparent that neither of us had much voice lessons at that point. I started voice lessons like three weeks prior to the camp and when I came back and showed my coach the video of us. She said, “it was actually really good. But that last note was terrible.”
For the most part, I think of April as a lesbian who would end up with Cassandra, but I would not mind it if Rise April and Donnie ended up getting together because they really do have such an amazing amount of chemistry in their relationship, which is a big step up from their 2012 counterparts.
