I love that even though this is a monologue lip sync, Monet still managed to do that thing where she starts walking towards the back of the stage and then does a dramatic turn to the camera 😂 Monet is one of my all time favorite contestants on Drag Race

Literally every gay should know this monologue it’s absolutely iconic… even I knew all the words so I’m not surprised they do too. I’m just surprised it took so long to finally do this on drag race given lots of drag queens perform this number.
When Monet threw her gloves in perfect punctuation to the monologue I damn near died. What a show she put on with this!
I literally watch this repeatedly for this moment and for her expression on the word "flame". She gave me EVERYTHING I needed!

You guys understand if we ALL constantly ask the producers for the same thing over and over again, they’re going to eventually give it to us? Can we make this a cult thing to the point where they have no choice in a year or two….
I’d like to think they’re gonna start doing more of this monologue lip syncs peppered throughout the regular seasons too. You can’t High kick or watermelon your way out of learning every breath and pause with something like this. Props to Jinkx and Monet for killing this.
Not for regular seasons. the mindset of BTM2's and top2's are very different. With the former basically setting the queens up for a fumble imo

Jinkx killed it like she usually does...but Monet, every single beat, every single gesture...it was delicious. I'm a staunch Jinkx fan...Monet took this lipsync overwhelmingly. This season is my favourite seasonnnnnnn. This cast is my favourite castttttt.

This whole episode was like having a serious hallucination: so the drag queens made tik tok dances, one did an actual dance and another made a sandwich, they both won and after doing art history and black history as runways they just recited a scene from a movie in full silence and one of them won ten thousand dollars

Monet made such interesting choices here- the moving back to the stage, walking away and ‘ now you do’ was so beautifully done! Jinkx did the performance in the face more than the body- I felt that Monet’s read better because of the physicalities. Very well performed from either one regardless

This monologue is actually a staple in many local drag shows. Local drag performers also weave in spoken bits into their lip sync songs to make them more interesting and to add humor. I'm glad that Drag Race is finally doing stuff like this. It expands the idea of what a lip sync is and can be to the mainstream audience. Good job!

I saw Juno Birch a couple weeks ago. She did a ton of monologue cut ins and movie dialogue. Completely agree with you. This type of draft has been missing for a long time.

Well, slaying the competition is another thing. I don't see anyone slaying the season but Monet is probably one of the 4 finalists along with Jinkx, Jaida and The Vivienne.

It was SOOOOOO GOOOD! I can't stop watching!! When Monet started clapping and when Jinkx caught the baton, Monet's demonstration of flames, baton on fire, how they both delivered "the night the light went out in Georgia" line. So many iconic moments. I could go on and on!! More spoken word lipsyncs please!!

While Jinx did a spectacular job at this performance, Monet stapled, marked, chopped, aced and SLAYEEEEDDED this performance! This is definitely one of the best lip sync performances we’ve seen so far in the show!!!!

Im glad they're bringing the traditional pageant talents and lip syncs to their platform. These are some of my favorites, especially when it turns into a musical at some parts lol
How did Monet manage to take that final “Well, now you do” and somehow channel Sheryl Lee Ralph with her face?! She really managed to take the whole thing and change it up rather than just acting it.

I know this is overstated but this lipsync is legit one of my all time favorites. The way Monét owned the stage, twisted the meaning of the words, pointed at Jynx in the end, talked about being congenial pointed at herself... Top 2 best lipsyncs of this season alongside the Week 1 lipsync.

I can’t believe they didn’t do this before!!! it should’ve happen a long time ago because spoken word is so common on drag performances. I’m patiently waiting for the “This Stuff” (Blue Sweater) Monologue on the devils wear Prada or Maleficent’s Curse by Angelina Jolie. This really showcases the real talent to do a lipsync and having acting and memory skills. It’s just so hard it’s so good. Monet KILLED IT!!

I love Jinx, but Monet killed this. Her movements felt sharper and each of them punctuated her sentence (like air quotes for sister, gesturing to herself for congeniality, that baton was on fire, the clapping for ovation) instead of feeling like arm waving to keep it interesting and her expressions matched the tone far better (that "FLAMES" punctuation was so good), Jinx's little smile I think threw it off for me. I'm so genuinely impressed with how well she pulled off this monologue.
When Ru said "spoken word lipsync" I had my doubts, but oh my god this was incredible - Monet killed it and Jinkx really held her own! I need to see someone lip sync to the courtroom scene from Legally Blonde - or the Blue Sweater scene from Devil wears Prada!

Monet gave me Sheryl Lee Ralph! Best lip sync in history and it was the first. I don't know how many times I've watched this over and over. I'll say this, monet is one of the greatest contestants to grace this show.
Both of them gave great performances, but I felt Monet used every opportunity to tell the story and gave the necessary peaks and valleys of the monologue. I could hardly take my eyes off her.
I am in love with Jinkx and her AMAZING acting skills, but Monet's performance was completely electrifying and I don't know how she did that.

This is my favourite Julia Sugarbaker monologue (tied with her scathing rebuke of Ray Don) and both of them did it justice but Monet was hands down amazing. Well deserved win!
