  • I waited almost a year to attend the 2017 World EXPO in Astana and finally made it there! The 2017 World EXPO in Astana was very interesting and a lot of fun! Each country was different and had their own way of conveying their new green technologies. If you are in Astana during the 2017 EXPO, you must visit it!
Welcome to my channel! I'm Patrick and this is Patmax Adventures! I'm originally from California and have been living abroad for the past four years. I decided to start this channel to share my experiences and passion for travel with others. My goal with this channel is to share and show as much as I can of the World. My focus will always be on the culture, food and of course the local people of everywhere I travel to! I'm an optimist and always try to highlight the positives of a place rather than just the negatives.Though I will also be bluntly honest at times too! If you love travel and exploring far away places, then you found the right place!
Join me in living every moment to the Max!! ^^

Thank you! We made it to 1,000! You could spend a whole week there. There was so much to see and I filmed much more than I showed. I was there for ten hours and was a bit tired by the end of the video haha.

Would LOVE to see some of those ten hours, especially the pavilion interiors. First Expo I have missed since 1992 due to health so you are helping me to experience it vicariously. Thanks for this and future travel vids, Pat!!!

I also waited over a year to attend Expo 2017! It was my first time out of the US and I have been studying world fairs for over 12 years. While I didn't get to see the Korean or Chinese pavilions because of queues, I visited most other countries and loved all their displays. Nur Alem was by far the highlight of the Exposition and I'm glad that it will remain once the fair closed as the Museum of Future Energy. I posted many of my photos on my flickr and Instagram accounts @joetherocketman

Looks like you walked into an episode of Star Trek!
There are lots of example of using alternative energy in the future.
I especially liked the floor you were walking on that was made of glass.

Yeah there was! It was very interesting and so much to see. I wasn't able to see everything, but what I saw was pretty cool.

@@PatMaxAdventures I believe the "weather" device is actually a model of the inside of the ITER Tokamak that is being built in France for fusion energy.

Wow, that looked like a lot of fun. I could have spent at least a week there. I've been thinking that, it seems that the so-called Third World countries, like China, India, and Kazakhstan, have played catch-up with the West, and have even surpassed the West, at least in some things. Maybe certain countries "had to" suffer what they did during the previous half millennium, in order to exorcise the bad things. I think that Astana itself symbolizes all this: it's essentially a new city that was able to take advantage of the latest technology, while not being encumbered by its past, as say New York City is. Also, my impression is that Kazakhstan's skies are mostly brilliant blue.

Wow. You picked a really awesome world travel after teaching in South Korea. I guess you were teaching English? Was there a golden triangle you put your hand into in the top area of that huge globe after the glass walkway? Did you notice that odd pyramid in Astana? What a most strange city.

Astana looks good I plan to fly with air Astana I can fly via London for 700 euroa. Via Budapest with wizzair it might be cheaper but it would take 34 hours and I would be stuck in airport for 20 hours I would rather pay 500 euros extra it's much faster
