Great videos! Everytime I watch them, I feel like going in the garage in my building and fixing someone's car. 😀 Thank you for being a awesome teacher!!
I am normally an American classic guy, but I love this Saab. The Morris Minor, Cortina/Anglia and the Volvo PV544 also have a place in my heart. The razor blade tip is great. I can’t wait for the next segment of this series. 👍
Loving this one a lot, Brian. We’ve owned several SAABs with my blue GLE 99 in 1978 our first. Haha, I recall a 96 service manual with a picture captioned “Removing the motor” ... two guys were picking the engine up out of the bay with their hands.
Awesome Brian! As a swede I might looking forward to this a little more LOL. Not many of these left now even here in Sweden. When it's such of a common car they get more neglected as the years go. Then many gets to value these cars when it's almost to late. Seems to be in amazing condition the Saab you are working on. Looking forward to see the finished results when you get it perfected! And thanks for takeing us a long on the ride when you do the work on it. Saab started with manufacturing airplanes and does so even today. If you imagine to put wings on it around or little behind the front wheels. You see how much of the body looks like an airplane body. The wind resistance in the windtunnels was very low at that time cause of the great aerodynamics. Mercedes Benz has been focusing in that part in the later years and has about the lowest values today.
Another great video Brain! Thanks again for those awesome detailing tips, I’ve definitely learned a lot from you. I’ve seen dozens of Saab 96 at various Saab owners events but rarely did I see one in such a prestige condition. Can’t wait to see the finished result!
It’s beyond me why as I watch the video two people disliked the video 🤷🏼♂️What is wrong with people?Brian goes above and beyond to deliver excellent informative content. I feel if you don’t like the content then just don’t watch it why dislike 🤷🏼♂️I learned so much from Brian and to see a few dislikes bothers me. I guess there is always a few people who just are immature and disrespectful.
Just got into dealing a few years ago, thanks for all your good info across so many channels and thank you even more for killer products, opti gloss coat and opti bond will be here tomorrow!
It's looking a lot like a 66 car or even 67 , definitely the v4 option was not offered until 66, the lighter two stroke unit was balanced to the car, fitting ford's v4 upped the power , but creates a sway when pasing 60mph , not the best match. Love the polishing and techniques here , will follow this, keep it coming ..
Hello Brian, Theron here of 937Clean. At the end of your video you make a comment ...and I'm paraphrasing. The combo (pad/DA/compound)that you used... even though it gave you an excellent result, it took to long. My question to you is what is to long? Of course nothing is going to beat a rotary.
Good job brotha! Looks like that machine needs to be a sander, that thing is like watching paint dry on a cold day. What is your plans on topping it with?
Brian, I just bought a 92 miata, I did a lite cut and buff with a older harber freight da buffer. I used a Griots micro fiber correting pad and griots complete compound. Then I used a off brand black finish pad and TW polish compound. It looks realy good in the shade but in the sun the bumpers still had swirl marks. So I bought some Meguiars fine cut cleaner I had to realy work it to cut through the swirls but it did. The paint seems to be very hard should I try Meguiars medium cut compound or would you suggest something different. And the paint is single stage.
You sure like that Eurofiber 50/50, how do you feel it compares to say a Griot Garage white foam pad? I know generally that microfiber is more aggressive than foam but would you say it is noticeable?
This is the series I have been waiting for because I have a car with single stage. Do you take paint depth readings before and after? I know every paint is different, but I am curious to know how much paint is removed. I can't justify the $100+ for a depth gauge so I guess I'll check with a local body shop to see if they'll let me rent one for 15 minutes. :)
Time to break out the 20 pound early 80's rotary and the big old woolly! Just kidding, well unless my kid mouths off and there is a boat that needs brightened up!
That is definitely NOT a 1963. That front end style was introduced in 1965, the V4 was added in 1967. I had a '64, a '65 and a '67 V4 so I a m very familiar with them.
Many rare and exciting cars to come! Stay tuned!
awesome

Interesting car and thanks for taking us along for the ride (sorry couldn't resist the pun) 👍✌️🇺🇸
I learned to drive in a 1970 Saab 95 wagon. Good times.
So much knowledge casually exchanged. I Pick it up like a sponge 🧽 Thanks Brian
Love these type of videos Brian. It's like Christmas every time you upload them. 🖒😃
Love watching your series whatever you do ,especially this as I owned one of those cars ,your work is excellent Iam sure this will look stunning
I love watching these!

Damn that thing looks good! Also, nice work as always, love seeing the before and after. It's amazing the difference!
Very nice. This car will look spectacular when completed.
Duuuude! Thank you for showing this amazing car brand!
I love how at first it looks like nothing is needed until the actual work begins.
The Ford V4 was not offered in Saab until at least mid 1966. Ford DID Test the V4 in modified Saab 96s before introducing it.
Awesome Brian!

Beautiful little car. Looking forward to the results.

I dont mind...but they dont event have the balls to indicate what was so displeasurable about the video.
Great video
That color is awesome 👌🏼😎
Looks great sir.
Beautiful Saab 96v4 Deluxe this is a 1968 model not 1963 which was a two stroke bull nosed 96 .My Grand father had the same car in the UK .Great job!!
Cool car!

It took too many passes...raising temps in a small area, putting a ton of stress on the old paint.
SAAB FOR THE WIN!!!
Do you sometimes get a one stage coated car, that was coated with a clear coat [maybe later in the cars life?]
Sometimes they have been switched over to a 3 stage paint job.
Good job brotha! Looks like that machine needs to be a sander, that thing is like watching paint dry on a cold day. What is your plans on topping it with?
An acrylic like Klasse High gloss.
@@apexdetail85 Would you think
Duragloss 111 would give similar results on that paint color?
From V48s to V4s. Love the old Saabs. A lot of fun engineering.
Will you wet sand the entire paint on this car?
Yes...to cut to the chase and not spend hours and hours on a DA.

Try 3D ACA 500
I watched your review on 3d 500 it was awsome. I'll keep looking on line for it , thank you so much.
You sure like that Eurofiber 50/50, how do you feel it compares to say a Griot Garage white foam pad? I know generally that microfiber is more aggressive than foam but would you say it is noticeable?
It is the most versatile pad available. I like it a bit better than the GG.
@@apexdetail85 I was afraid of that. Now I have to get over to Amazon 😁

Yes...I will show that in the next installment.
What type of sprayer are you using for the wash. I just use a pesticide sprayer but yours looks better
Marolex. Here’s a the link to a review Brian did a few months ago: ruclips.net/video/_fl2mARnIjc/видео.html
Marolex Sprayers...they are GREAT! luxurymicrofiberstore.com/
How do you find businesses like this in your area? What does something like this cost?
Did the pad turn gray since it’s single stage paint?
Yes...It will need to be cleaned every pass.
👍
We Americans love V8s, V6s, and V-twins, why did the 4 cylinder get skipped?
We like POWER!😜👍
Time to break out the 20 pound early 80's rotary and the big old woolly! Just kidding, well unless my kid mouths off and there is a boat that needs brightened up!
😂 Thanks goodness those days are over with!
What we are looking at is a 1968 Saab not 1963!
This is a 68, not a 63, but nice video.
This is a 68.
That is definitely NOT a 1963. That front end style was introduced in 1965, the V4 was added in 1967. I had a '64, a '65 and a '67 V4 so I a m very familiar with them.
Regristration and ins. cards must have a missprint
@@apexdetail85 Maybe a '68?
Looking at some other Saab’s from that decade....I think you hit the bullseye at 68’👍🏻
Can't be 1960. That front started 1967.
This can NOT be a 63. It is a 68. V4' did NOT Come until -67.
