  • Hi everyone! We use this pathway everyday. The Irish Moss will eventually grow around each stepping stone. I can't wait to watch it grow, giving this area a cottage feel!

Right?! 😩😂 This technique must’ve been popular in the 70’s. 🤷🏻‍♀️We don’t care for it, and are prepping the house for new stucco. Slowly but surely we are getting there. 😃

Your weather sounds similar to ours in South Carolina! Where are you? Just getting an idea of if this moss will grow in my region. Thanks!

I live in Central California. We have summers that can run from May - September. It's 102 today. Very hot with no humidity. The last time we had rain was March. You might have an easier time growing it than I. Thank you for watching. :)

70 days over a hundred.. you must be in Texas? We would get 100 days over 100 last couple years. This year may beat it it’s off to a hot start right out the gate

Hi, just wondering how your moss filled in and is holding up? I just bought a place in zone 9b (Mediterranean climate), and am thinking about chipping out the mortar between the patio flagstones and planting Irish moss, but not sure it can withstand the dry summers...

It is filling in….slowly. This summer will be the true test if it can withstand our summer. Unless it rains, I water it daily. I would say for me, the jury is still out. I will give an update near the end of summer. 😊 Thank you for watching. :)

What brand auger did you buy? We need one and need a strong one with the clay we have here. We have to replace the grass for a 3rd time.

It’s a Power Planter. You can get them online. We picked ours up at the blue big box hardware store. I didn’t realize you guys had clay. 😳 See you soon! 🤗

How long does it take to cover all gaps? And how much do you water them?

There are some spots that almost touch. It's a slow growing plant. This summer we'll see how well they do. Even though they like sun, they do not like a hot/dry climate. We water it daily. Our Japanese Maple has matured quite a bit. Hopefully that will give it reprieve during our hottest months. Thank you for watching.

How’s the Spanish moss doing now?

It's doing well. I think the cool winter/fog weather has helped it grow. :)

@@birdhousegarden great! Good to know. I’ll bring trying it up in Santa Rosa in early Spring to avoid any soil freezing.

Unfortunately it was a complete fail. 😔 Probably due our climate. Over 60 days of 100+ temps with evening lows hovering around 80. Will be filming this spring on a different alternative. Thank you. 😃
