Remember one of the first episodes, when James talks about that food in the seventies was mostly distinguished by colour? The same goes for jam. In the seventies (and eighties), there usually was yellow jam and red jam. Nobody needed to know what fruit was in there. Mostly it was sugar, anyway....
Let's face it James could literally set a camera up in his garden and make watching grass grow compelling.

I have to say that the 70’s sandwich series has been absolutely hysterical. I am afraid, however, that the true genius of it is probably lost on those who were not born in the 1960-1970 range. Thanks for some great laughs on this episode and the others. On the very day that I watched the cheese sarnie episode, I did in fact find that same cheese grater in the kitchen drawer.

My mom used sugar and chocolate sprinkles (cake decoration) instead of plain sugar. That was in the 80s.
