I vividly remember watching this game with my mom last night and was like "LeBron needs to be more aggressive or we're not coming back" at the end of the 3rd. I was absolutely flabbergasted when we started the 4th on a 21-0 run with Bron scoring 16 straight and not missing a single shot.
I was thinking that in the previous game, but instead it was AD This game I thought it would have to be the whole team to step up but instead I got the LBJ I was looking for against Phoenix
Crazy that people doubted him, anyone who's ever played high level ball knew JJ was the real deal with how smart he was if you watched his podcasts over the years before covid and after covid when he left The Ringer. Shows a lot of people just watch ball but don't know it
To be fair, JJ brought a lot of that on himself by making some very controversial comments, especially about players from previous eras. Not to mention that his connection to LeBron was a major conflict of interest in his hiring as the coach.
@urbaindelva7869 that conflict of interest was actually proof of concept for the world to see. LeBron and JJ seemed to be geniuses by doing so. One game at a time though.
I been really enjoying the offense running through Anthony Davis. It unleashes Anthony Davis on both sides on the floor and LeBron can relax a little throughout the season.
I agree...without a doubt...but the Lakers just beat one of their biggest rivals' in the Sac.Kings for their 3rd victory in a row...so I say there's a new sheriff in town...and his name is JJ...and so far we might as well call him the new 'Messiah'.😅
Damn simping 3 games into the year like that means anything. 🤣🤣🤣 Get them hopes up high cause it’s always fun watching how far yall fall when reality sets in. 🤣🤣
Lakers getting a Top 3 seed, AD is winning either MVP or DPOY. People forget that Lebron wanted AD to take over for like 2-3 seasons already. I know its been only 3 games, but the Lakers seem to be a COMPLETELY new team, even though they basically have the same team as last year. So many people clowned the Lakers for signing JJ Redick, they said "Bron is controlling everything", but he might actually figured this team out. Like i already said i know its only been a few games, but from what i have seen the Lakers can actually make some noise in the west (unless MPJ somehow turns into Prime Klay and Murray into a crazy freak when they face them in the playoffs). Don't forget as well they beat the T Wolves, Suns and Kings who are all projected to make the playoffs. Still i think we need to wait until January to actually get a picture of how good they actually are.
Lakers first 3 games are all playoff contender teams. All 3 teams have upgraded their lineup. Wolves added Randle and Donte. Suns added PG Jones and Plumlee. Suns added Rozan. And Lakers only added a new coach. This is a good sign for me. I'm nt saying that they wont lose a game. But winning against these teams. Overcoming big leads. They will lose all these game if their coach is Ham.
I see your points. I just want to add that in addition to having JJ as head coach, which has breathed some new life into their offensive sets, it also sometimes takes a year of play before a team fully can live up to their potential. For sure I'm not a Lakers fan at all, but I do think all of their core players, including Dalton Knecht, are basically just very solid. They have a fair bit of versatility in Austin Reeves, Rui Hachimura and Gabe Vincent. AD is probably the best possible versatile two-way center you can have outside of Wemby and LeBron, even grandfather LeBron James, can still play like the true star he really is. Meanwhile Cam Reddish, Jaxson Hayes and DeAngelo Russel are all a bit flawed or sometimes inconsistant, but they have strengths that are still raising the ceiling by a lot. All I'm buiding up to is, that this team got close to beating a well functioning Denver Nuggets, who got close to beating one of the strongest WCF teams, the Timberwolves. The West is simply stacked. While the floor for this team is certainly a lot lower than for a few other teams, the ceiling is still very high and they can compete with the best of them. (despite how much I dislike saying that about a team I never really enjoyed watching)
if Knecht proves to be very consistent, i'd be fine with him replacing Russell as a starter. but if the Lakers intend to trade Russell, they need to play him and hope he goes on a run
It feels great that Lakers are proving Ham was the problem. I and many fans said this after he was fired but the media made it about oh no it's not Hams fault he has a winning record and oh rhe roster just isn't good enough and blah blah blah. anyone who actually watched Lakers games and payed attention so what Ham did. Failure to call tineouts when needed , failure to have proper rotations, failure to start the damn lineup that got you to wcf until nearly 60 games into season. Failure to call or run plays basically ever. 90% of Lakers offense was stagnant and iso plays with Ham on sideline watching with hands in pockets. Terrible emotion. During a timeout or on sideline he barely "coached" and spoke or called plays or what needed to be done out. Ham running starting 5s that made no sense including a 5 that didn't have a single guard. Hams plan on defense to choose one guy on opposing team to leave open from 3 and force them to make them and beat us. What happens? Tons of teams were having there best ever nights from behind 3 point line bc of Hams defensive logic. I could go on and on. It was a slap in the face to fhe fans and most importantly to the team especially Lebron and AD who are still the best duo in league and are both top 10 players. Hearing the Lakers just aren't good anymore and yeah they probably won't make playoffs was infuriating bc with the talent they had if they were properly coached there a top tier team. I wasn't sure at first about JJ like everyone but was optimistic and going into it , it wasn't gonna be hard to be better than Ham. Call timeouts properly, run plays and movement on offense , show emotion etc. But damn JJ has been phenomenal as a coach and the Lakers are finally playing how there capable of playing every night. Another thing satisfying about this start? Lakers beat timberwolves, Suns, and Kings. All 3 seen as contenders heading into this year and the media had all 3 better than Lakers. And sure last years Lakers probably start the season 0-3 with these matchups but this years didn't and have proved there as good as anybody when their playing at there best. This proved Ham was the problem the last few years. Basically same roster and the differences are night and day. I think the most frustrating part about this is not making the coaching change sooner. Last 2 years of Bron and AD wasted. The media should feel pretty stupid now bc they smeared the Lakers over and over when they got rid of Ham and wanted to act like it was a dumpster fire. Satisfying start.

I'm not exactly expecting AD to hold up this amazing play though, he generally has never done so, but if he does they are going to be a force for sure. Suns might win on Monday since its tough to beat a team twice in such a short span. But 3-1 is already way better than I expected. We could go 7-3 in the first 10 and cruise from there.

You and every non-Lakers fan clearly didn't understand how bad Ham was! And the front office did what everyone complained about from the 2020 team...Kept the continuity of guys that have been playing together for 2 1/2 years for a new coach. That makes the transition a lot smoother.
If vanderbilt can come back and JJ can figure out how to use him offensively. Then they might be contenders but that's still a stretch. Maybe even Cam Reddish but I don't think that shot will ever come around
Lakers finally have a good character roster and a coach that they respect. The third is talent. The fourth is players that complement each other. Lakers have it all. And imagine, they're still missing some contributing players.
The good thing AD taking care of the offense while LBJ conserving energy so LBJ can closed out a game if needed.. i think JJ priority is to conserved LBJ energy so he closed out a game once AD runout of gas.
Depressed about my Pelicans. Zion had the worst two-game shooting stretch of hs entire career, probably dating back to middle school. The season is already off to a rocky start with Murphy and Murray being out. But if Zion is going to play like this, they're a high lottery team. I've never seen him look this ineffective as a finisher. What happened? I know it's two games, but finishing at the rim is his super power. Was losing weight actually a bad thing? I would believe I won the lottery before I'd believe Zion was capable of shooting 25% in back-to-back games.
I have watched JJ on podcasts and ESPN panel speak about coaching and he damm knows what he is talking about,,, setting up different plays,,, make in game adjustments,,, making players more involved etc,, he looks really good as a coach,, 😂better than DOC 😂😂
I want to see D'Lo succeed, but I think he's going to lose his starting spot if he can't improve his defense. I'm just not sure he's big enough or fast enough to defend nba elites.
@@Ghost-rb6cw Ideally, all the core players must be healthy but I'm more concerned for the 2 older guys who can't afford to have injuries at this point of their career, especially Bron
if the lakers stay healthy and maybe trade gabe vincent and dlo for a better point guard/consistent shooter, they are definately championship contenders
I thought that gabe vincent and max christie both haven't played great this season, so backup PG is a concern for the team. I think with vando coming back the wing rotation should be fine, and then depending on how jaxon hayes continues to play the big man situation could be looked into. Hayes has played rlly good, I'm not rlly a big christian wood fan so I think he should be a trade piece for this team. As for potential trade targets, getting Malcom Brogdon from the wizards seems to be a great option off the bench, and then if you really want a great backup big for the playoffs then I think the Lakers should look at Jakob Poeltl. If they end up addressing depth they'll probably be alongside the thunder for taking the west
Call me a delusional Laker fan, but come back at the end of the season and I'll prove you wrong. If AD and Lebron stay healthy, the Lakers will be contenders, and AD will win DPOY and MVP.
I agree! People forget the lakers were just in the wcf with a coach who was not helping things at all. Wish we didn’t waste so much time being mediocre after 2020
when y’all say this is the best AD has played his whole career it really makes me think y’all started watching him when he came to LA like have you seen him in NOLA especially in 2018
It's funny. I've wanted Lakers to sign a veteran sharp shooter like JJ Reddick for years. Instead we drafted a sharp shooter and got JJ for head coach 😅
Everyone was calling me crazy by all the RUclips content creators for saying JJ Reddick hire was a massive W. Now they’re all making up reasons why they were wrong… The fact is they were emotional and we’re listening to all the analysts. JJ Reddick was known to be under coaches who kept him around because he was a sponge. He also is up on all the latest offenses and hates drop coverage, unlike the old heads. He also did podcast where he explained how he could change Anthony Davis and he could get LeBron to playoff ball .
Personally, I always wait until 20 games played before I start making assumptions. That's just me though. I'm not required to create content every single day, which is fantastic.
this season opening stretch is just the biggest inditement on all the idiots who said “ham wasnt the problem” , “ham is a good coach”, “another scapegoat” . the man is just a god awful coach😂and had no business running a team
The Cavs exposed a flaw.......the Lakers need more physical help on the wing defensively. Reaves and Christie not it. And players need to stop crying about non calls and get back on defense
Woa! Slow down...its only been 4 games...and they were pretty good last year..they won the in season tournament...they been had a good team..they just aren't a championship caliber team
THEY HAVE ALWAYS BEEN GOOD the media coverage of the lakers has been so biased. Thus is Anthony davis 4th year in L.A in those years they have won a championship made the WCF and made the playoffs evrey single year and they have only lost in the playoffs to the western conference championship or nba chanpion
Imo, i think LeBron is volunteering to take a seat back in usage is to get AD in leader prime for when he retires. I hate to say it but JJ Reddick is a better coach than Scam, by many moons. Scam's 2 years can even measure up to Jj's first 3 games
The Lakers would be in such a better spot if they shipped DLo and packaged maybe a couple other players such as Christian Wood, Max Christie, Gabe Vincent, or a combination of them. DLo is the only MAIN piece that truly just doesn’t fit, not to mention that he’s a historically bad playoff performer and was completely USELESS and LIABILITY in BOTH their series against the Nuggets. I won’t be able to buy into them as a TRUE Title contender until they get rid of him.
And who are you getting by making that trade? There isn’t a single player worth that. Not one. And it’d destroy our bench and wing defense. You’d have to take back multiple players and probably money. Lakers are NOT doing that.

And Lakers only added a new coach. This is a good sign for me. I'm nt saying that they wont lose a game. But winning against these teams is already a good sign that they are becoming a real deal. Overcoming big leads. They will lose all these games if their coach is Ham.
Demar having flashbacks during the 4th
I really see them winning between 65 and 70 games this year, the Thunder.
The Russ curse for Denver unfortunately but very happy for the Lakers so far and hope they perform well on the road this week.
I was so sure you drive for Redbull F1 Team.
I want to see D'Lo succeed, but I think he's going to lose his starting spot if he can't improve his defense. I'm just not sure he's big enough or fast enough to defend nba elites.
It's definitely more fun to watch the Lakers now than last year. The only concern for the team is the health of their superstars
They're superstars alone? Damn near they're entire team was injured last season or the season prior.
@@Ghost-rb6cw Ideally, all the core players must be healthy but I'm more concerned for the 2 older guys who can't afford to have injuries at this point of their career, especially Bron
@@SungSaintPierre15 yep, I agree.
"Couldnt miss if you blindfolded him and tied his arms around his back" !!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
A- coach 100% team chemistry
"with the fate of the universe on the line I want Taurean Prince!"
-Darvin Ham probably
Chet Holmgren is if KD developed into a big instead of a wing.
Kings literally have their own Herb Jones and won't give him minutes it's insane
People really tried to say Ham wasn’t the problem
No disrespect to Ham but this team has 2020 aura, in terms of players having fun and ball movement.
Moving off of Bronny was a great move!!
Lakers are back, baby
we need a sharp shooter in Dlo's number, he's the big let down in that starting lineup
Come thru JJ!!!
if the lakers stay healthy and maybe trade gabe vincent and dlo for a better point guard/consistent shooter, they are definately championship contenders
Most teams haven’t found a shooting rhythm, it’s mostly those teams shooting good that are winning. Too early to call.
tell that to the suns who are not missing on the 1st half... jj made adjustment... give credit to where credit is due
@@charlesss417 most…. Not every one.
lebron somehow looking like the best player in the league still at 39 years old!
Lakers, Suns, and Okc might be leading the West this season
Now imagine not a single player has injuries, reddish and vando?!! Come on now!!
Call me a delusional Laker fan, but come back at the end of the season and I'll prove you wrong. If AD and Lebron stay healthy, the Lakers will be contenders, and AD will win DPOY and MVP.
Hahahaha!!!!! Oh please keep these hopes super high after 3 games so I can laugh at how wrong you are. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Laker fans truly delusional.
I agree! People forget the lakers were just in the wcf with a coach who was not helping things at all. Wish we didn’t waste so much time being mediocre after 2020
when y’all say this is the best AD has played his whole career it really makes me think y’all started watching him when he came to LA like have you seen him in NOLA especially in 2018
Sooo happy to not watch them scramble to get into an offensive set 16 seconds into the shot clock and heave up some terrible shot
He also did podcast where he explained how he could change Anthony Davis and he could get LeBron to playoff ball .
who do u think the lakers can trade for dlo?
Lakers success can be distilled down into one word : BRONNY
Personally, I always wait until 20 games played before I start making assumptions. That's just me though. I'm not required to create content every single day, which is fantastic.
this season opening stretch is just the biggest inditement on all the idiots who said “ham wasnt the problem” , “ham is a good coach”, “another scapegoat” .
the man is just a god awful coach😂and had no business running a team
LeBron really still so good. He can be a solid number two on a championship team at 40.
hands are now out the pockets yessir
Top 5 talented roster in the nba, they might beat the nuggets this year 😂
Drop a Clipper apology video if they beat your Thunder.
Who could you see the Lakers trading DLO for?
we're done with the 4 guards lineup Lakers nation
murray is just waiting his game against lakers to shine thats it
The Cavs exposed a flaw.......the Lakers need more physical help on the wing defensively. Reaves and Christie not it. And players need to stop crying about non calls and get back on defense
LETS GOOOOO THUNDER DUB 3-0
LETS GO
As usual... Lakers win some games with a new coach, and everybody says "wow he's the best coach blah blah blah".
I also believe in the laker, but I think it a overreaction from only 3 games… we can have the same talk maybe 15-20 games in the season.
Woa! Slow down...its only been 4 games...and they were pretty good last year..they won the in season tournament...they been had a good team..they just aren't a championship caliber team
Nuggets are in trouble 😬
JJ Redick looking like ROTY so far.
*COTY
We’re 3 games in. Let’s hit the brakes a bit here instead of being so quick to jump on every story line
LAKERRRRRSSSSS
Im a Lakers and Russ fan im in a very weird spot
The Lakers are great again😊
And watch out for my cavs
He said AD would be MVP if it ended today this dude continues to dismiss Tatum bc he knows his team ain’t beating them in the finals lol
I'm SALIVATING at the thought of Bronny getting a ring in his rookie year just to watch the haters squirm and whine.
Can the lakers beat the celtics.
No the lakers are way too starting 5 heavy, who off the bench is going to score?
