Thanks!
Love watching all your videos, Michael, and how you incorporate surfing, burritos, cooking, coffee, and some daily tasks of a painter. It's so fun and relaxing. :) Obviously the painting stuff too! Haha It goes without saying that your painting tutorials are insightful and inspiring and that is of course why we watch your vlogs! I especially loved that you took the time to share the sunset with us. So beautiful! Adds an even more positive and peaceful vibe to this project.
Thanks, Kimberly! 😊
The sounds of the ocean is amazing, so powerful and peaceful at the same time - the painting was amazing !
The walk in was nice too...you should do a farm/land series. There’s so much beautiful farm and ranch land there. I don’t think people think of that when they imagine CA.
Yes, a farm series would be fun. 😊
They do have wonderful hidden locations.
Really like this one, both the video and the painting
keep doing the sunset until the ten minute mark, very soothing
@@emrazum Yes, could be a good tradition. A little meditation at the end of the video. People on a tight schedule can click out if they want. 😂
I love how you push through that feeling of not finding something that ‘pops out’ to make something so beautiful!
Watching him paint is sooooo relaxing. 😌
Love the video, the walk into the beach was great. Beautiful painting! Thank you!
I love it when a little of the red under drawing shows through. Love your choice of colors
Beautiful spot, beautiful painting - you're very fortunate to have this setting all to yourself.
Focus on the waves makes a dynamic painting. I haven't been able to find these discussions of older paintings on the Patreon site. Are they still up?
I like the way your camera sat there and watched you walk away, then stayed to see the sun set. It is one of my favorite cameras.
Yes, the videos reviewing older paintings are still up on Patreon,. 😊👍
So zen.... needed this today. Thanks! (marveling at the pink reflected in the wet sand in the last 2 min of sunset
I'm sure you've been. But Davenport is an amazing location. Just before Santa Cruz. There's a beach with a broken pier. And swing made out of one of the old pillars. Old railroad just before you walk down to it too. I feel like you'd get some good inspiration out there. I take highway one all the way down from Pacifica. And a nice stop is at the swanton farm. They have the best goodies to snack on.
I've been to Davenport many times but never hiked down to the beach. I painted Shark Fin Cove from the cliffs. I'll have to visit again soon! The thanks for the tip on Swanton Farm!
theres some really beautiful secret-ish beaches around pacifica too that might have some potential
Yes, for sure!
A tsunami of sound and the deep blue!
Have you ever thought about competing/enjoying a Plein Air competition? Maybe this isn’t a thing out there but here in upstate new york there’s a Plein Air competition in the fall and it’s so cool and fun! It’d be interesting seeing more foliage and a more east coast vibe!
I don't do Plein Air events anymore but I do love the east coast! I may be painting in Maine this summer.
Beautiful. The houses at the side of the road with the hill in the background were also a nice subject to paint since you love to paint architecture as well.
Thanks Martin! Yes, I may have to return and do a painting looking toward the hills.
Your videos are a work of art, too.
Thanks Jamie! 😊
Love it, thanks for the beautiful calm ending. Great wave action! I actually can not remember when we saw the sun last here in Northern Michigan!😳
This piece came out brilliant! I loved the chill vibes and atmosphere of the video~! And of course the footage of the waves at the end!
So beautiful.
Another great video and a beautiful painting! Have you ever done plein air painting at Muir Beach? Thank you for such relaxing videos!
I’ve been to Muir Beach but didn’t paint. Maybe I’ll go and make a video!
chamberlainpaintings I was there last summer with my kids. We hiked to a beautiful spot with stunning views of the ocean and landscape. I live in New Jersey so I would love to see a video! 😃
The painting was better than the subject. I like it!
Beautiful sunset! I thought maybe you forgot your camera at the beach! :) Thanks for sharing your process!
Enjoyed as always and thanks for the endings with ocean at our ear. Liked and Shared, always.
You have captured the movement of the water brilliantly Mike with great atmosphere as well. I'm still struggling with my waves. I guess I enjoy landscapes more. The area and beach looks nice. The California Coast looks so beautiful. If I ever go there I want to paint at Bodega Bay and San Francisco also Around Pebble beach. The coast looks amazing. Happy Painting Mate 😊🎨
Thanks Tez! Yeah, waves are a challenge. I’m still trying to figure out how to paint them.
@@chamberlainpaintings Yeah that's right there difficult. But your doing well Mike 🎨😊
So cool! I love how bright and calming your paintings are. You've gained a shiny new fan!
Thanks Jack!
The colors of the sea and sky ans sand were sublime. You were looking off to your right with your viewfinder and I wanted to shout. "Turn around! Behind you!" :)
The colors at the end of the video were so beautiful -- and so fleeting. Is a photograph the only way to paint something like that?
Yes, the light is changing so quickly that you’d have to work quickly or take a photo.
or if you’re at the location for several days you can work at the same time everyday. Sargent used to do that
Not sure if it’s the same with the Utrecht version, but MAN, the dioxazine purple I use from Gamblin is incredibly strong. Almost too strong. In mixes I feel like I need to use about 1/5 the amount of nearly any other color they make
Yes, Utrecht is strong too. Not quite as strong as phthalo blue tho!
Beautiful painting! 💓☀️
Thanks! 😊
Only you can take a ‘no subject’ subject, and make a painting out of it. Thanks for sharing it.
nice spot!
Loved it❤️💕💕
just wondering...did you start out painting in a tighter way? what do you attribute your super loose style of the present? develop over time???? grazie!
Yes, I did start out tighter. It took a while to loosen up. I think painting outdoors really helped. It also happened naturally over time.
my brain: *plays Sousa march* 😄
😂
Sweet!
🤩
👍👍👍
Early & also what a beautiful painting love it 😊
Thanks! 😊
Thank you for the lovely long shot of the sunset! I want to ask where this is but also kinda don’t want you to tell me because I feel like it should remain a secret. 😊
Also: Huntington Gardens!? They allow painting there, I believe. That might be a fun spot next time you are down south.
I think it's called Cowell Ranch State Beach. It's just south of Half Moon Bay. I don't think it will ever get crowded since you have to walk about 1/4 mile to get to it. 😊
