I lived in Rockford for almost 40 years and worked for 11 years at the Clock Tower Resort. Coco Keys wasn't a thing until 8 or 9 years after I left Clock Tower but I took my kids there a few times. The resort itself was condemned by the city in 2017, two years after the water park had been shut down. The whole thing to me is pretty symbolic of Rockford itself. The resort basically served as a landmark that welcomed people into Rockford as they came off I-90 in its glory days, and subsequently did the opposite after it began tumbling into disrepair after 2014-15. It's as if it was telling people, "keep driving, nothing to see here", which unfortunately speaks volumes for the rest of Rockford. God damn. This is so sad. I went to this exact water park in 2013 or 2014 after school on some Friday “club field trip” with my friends. It’s so sad to see what happened to this, I know that I had a lot of fun that day and it’s sad to think it went under just a few years later. I still have a photo strip of our fun day together as they had a little photo booth in the lobby!
That’s CoCo Keys in ohio and I used to go there as a little kid... watching your video has brought back so many good memories of when it was a sanitary place to play
I used to go there with my grandpa all the time years ago before it had any problems that I noticed and it was great, sad to see it in such bad condition. When you went through the shattered glass I just remembered my grandpa going up there with my siblings and I to get pizza hut pizza.
I honestly think it's really sad to close such a cool waterpark :(. I know it's because of a bacteria outbreak but it's still sad. I mean look how cool it looks and it was probably expensive
They did end up reopening somewhere else! But there's still problems.. There's been a wide amount of 1 star reviews saying that there's roaches and dirty sheets and horrible food and such
It always annoys me seeing the graffiti and vandalism in places like this. I'm not bothered by people trespassing on abandoned property in the name of exploration, I'm all for it when done safely and responsibly. But if you're gonna do so at least respect the space. That's all I expect, just don't leave marks on it like that. I feel like that's a proper tradeoff for doing what you're not supposed to be doing.
This guy is wearing a bandana I would be wearing a hazmat suit If I touched anything without gloves I would probably chop my arm off and most importantly is that I WOULD NOT GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!
*fun fact* so If the chlorine is really strong when you go in that means alot of people are peeing in there and stuff that's why you always see people spit out water when they come from underwater
Okay but like my inner clean freak ass was like "omfg that place is soo dirty prepare all your cleaning supplies and start cleaning this place is gonna be spotless when I'm done"😅😂
No not really the paint is still on and nothing looks that rusty it looks in pretty good condition other than the fact that it looks pretty abandoned. I honestly think that they could rebuild or fix it up and clean up it could be a really water park again it looks really cool too.
The first time I Went to a water park I caught a bacteria infection the next day which occurred last summer and I hate to say it BUT that's the LAST time I'll ever go to a water park.😂🤦
Yes, yes you are the absolutely only person who thinks it would be fun 🙄 what a stupid question. It's a waterpark, of course it would be fun. I hope you've had 4 years to reflect on your decision to make this comment and hit send. This has made me irrationally angry 😡 do better in future. I'm just messing with you. Although I do find it mildly irritating when people ask of they're the only one who thinks something when they know fine well everyone does. It's like when people say "unpopular opinion but..." then proceed to give their popular opinion. It's stupid, stop it 😅
He doesn’t have to worry about bacteria because the way people were getting sick with bacteria from the water park was by getting water in their mouth/eyes/ears and since there’s no more water there’s nothing to worry about
I got deja Vu that I’ve seen that place or something similar very similar in a RomanAtwood vid when he and his family went to celebrate his son’s birthday. It’s so weird!
yeah it does but isn’t the lazy river different like the one at great wolf lodge in the twin cities (idk if you guys are thinking of the same one) but it like goes tho a thing right?
Gxcha qwq! I recognize this place after seeing a few comments about it, and no it’s not been restored. They tore down the hotel it was attached to and I can’t remember if they demolished this section yet or not, but they probably will soon. It’s really sad because the hotel was very iconic but the owners really let it go and didn’t care anymore, and that included the water park as well.
Ok I love these videos and all but shouldn’t the owners decide to actually have the park taken down it wastes a lot of space and it should become something else
They_Luvyyy.ilani so when you go to 7:53 you have to look all the way over to the Right and there is a wall with coral and fish. Right on the wall it says *we see you*😂😨😬😝
I've never been a fan of water parks. Various people with skin problems and diseases jump into the same water and we are like exposed to a universe of bacteria and diseases.
@@izzymichele4494 I'm saying this because I have experienced it. One of the water parks in my place shut down because a person with bacterial infection got into the water and almost all the people who were in that water got that bacterial infection. I went to the same water park. You'll never get it unless you experience it. I'm sorry if anyone is offended by this and I'll never hate people who are suffering from a disease , infact I'l be pursuing medical.
@@anyuser5788 There are more serious diseases other than flu and sore throat. Diseases you wouldn't even dream of. I'm just trying to say try to be safe because getting into a water park pool is like exposing yourself to innumerable diseases.

But, for all of the comments saying “Did you get Ebola?” No I did not. I was like 7 when I went there last, I didn’t even know what Ebola was. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Hope I cleared that up.)

Hi guys today we are going to a water park with deadly bacteria

That’s CoCo Keys in ohio and I used to go there as a little kid... watching your video has brought back so many good memories of when it was a sanitary place to play
it looks like the one in rockford that also got closed
Good thing its still open over here for us in Massachusetts
Howls I thought it turned into great wolf lodge?

cmurph no, that’s by King’s Island.
I used to go there with my grandpa all the time years ago before it had any problems that I noticed and it was great, sad to see it in such bad condition. When you went through the shattered glass I just remembered my grandpa going up there with my siblings and I to get pizza hut pizza.

It was very expensive to get in
And out

They did end up reopening somewhere else! But there's still problems.. There's been a wide amount of 1 star reviews saying that there's roaches and dirty sheets and horrible food and such
Yes RUclips, I finally whatched it.

Ok
It always annoys me seeing the graffiti and vandalism in places like this. I'm not bothered by people trespassing on abandoned property in the name of exploration, I'm all for it when done safely and responsibly. But if you're gonna do so at least respect the space. That's all I expect, just don't leave marks on it like that. I feel like that's a proper tradeoff for doing what you're not supposed to be doing.
I especially love the government commissioned/ approved "graffiti" because I just find it so beautiful
Wait if it's "abandoned park why are there voices of people laughing?
No hate tho!

Magic waters (hurricane harbor 🙄) is in Rockford, it’s the best water park
i hate indoor water parks because they have crazy annoying echoes and they smell SO badly of chlorine
Right cause everyone in the world is talking and yelling laughing and screaming at once and its echoing
*fun fact* so If the chlorine is really strong when you go in that means alot of people are peeing in there and stuff that's why you always see people spit out water when they come from underwater
I kinda love that smell...😂🤷♀️

Great wolf lodge has basically the same exact laypit
Yes, yes you are the absolutely only person who thinks it would be fun 🙄 what a stupid question. It's a waterpark, of course it would be fun. I hope you've had 4 years to reflect on your decision to make this comment and hit send. This has made me irrationally angry 😡 do better in future.

He doesn’t have to worry about bacteria because the way people were getting sick with bacteria from the water park was by getting water in their mouth/eyes/ears and since there’s no more water there’s nothing to worry about
Janna Hughes did you know. It’s also on our skin
You forgot one place the bacteria got in as well
Is this in Ohio
Omg so I was so confused by this and when you showed me 3:47 I knew that I have been there before! And I have been there when it wasn’t abandoned

Gxcha qwq! I recognize this place after seeing a few comments about it, and no it’s not been restored. They tore down the hotel it was attached to and I can’t remember if they demolished this section yet or not, but they probably will soon. It’s really sad because the hotel was very iconic but the owners really let it go and didn’t care anymore, and that included the water park as well.
so sad
I HAVE BEEN THERE WITH MY FAMILY I REMEMBER IT LOL I don’t like it now :/
Melody Angel what is this place called. It looks like Coca keys to me.

Oh whatever it does definitely look like Coco keys but the one in Orlando doesn’t have a wave pool I don’t think 🤔
PryncessVibes ive never been to that one. I’m pretty sure there used to be one in a bunch of states.
yeah im pretty sure its coco keys cause in the grille, the menu said coco's on it
Ok I love these videos and all but shouldn’t the owners decide to actually have the park taken down it wastes a lot of space and it should become something else
the bacteria still would be in air anyway
yeah it could be used for a lot of good things

I've never been a fan of water parks. Various people with skin problems and diseases jump into the same water and we are like exposed to a universe of bacteria and diseases.
Diksha Baruah Not everything is contagious. Just because someone has a disease doesn’t make them contagious
I don’t think someone who’d have the flu, colds or step throat would go to a water park lol. They’d get even more sick
Diksha Baruah Dont be hating people, because they have a disease. That doesn’t make them different they are still human
