Midtown is livelier
Atlanta metro area is a very populated place but downtown Atlanta is a complete ghost town.
Decades of extremely poor urban planning will do that.

How safe is Downtown Atlanta at night?
Fairly safe but nobody walks in the city so it feels like the walking dead at night. However I’ve never been mugged or robbed

It's not dangerous, but regardless stay aware of ur surroundings and mind your business. Do that n youll be fine.
