While Ellen's art looks consistently average for what you would imagine from a 5 second drawing I am really impressed by how Luke's pictures range from genuinely good looking to truly ugly
Luke: "2022 is the year of the snake." Jane (Who was at home at the time): "I feel a disturbance in the force, I must channel a correction through Ellen."
Jon throwing out a mid year Pikachu drawing competition like it’s no big thing. My stomach flipped after I knew what he was going to say. I really wasn’t quite ready for an impromptu Pikachu drawing contest!
the transition of their facial expressions from when they hear the character [horror or excitement], to concentration while drawing, to panic at the end of the 5 seconds is everything
Ellen has two personalities: one that is all in and serious about her drawing and the other that appears when the 5 second mark hits, laughing and judging what the first one did.
My immediate thoughts were that Ellen's looked like a ghost of a Pikachu, and Luke's looked like a Pichu. Luke's definitely has a stronger resemblance to Victini on second thought.
13:16 - Sassy Luke 14:06 - Sassy Ellen 14:24 - Sassy Luke Again They're lucky Andy wasn't there to very judgmentally judge their art judgingly. _Especially..._ the last round.
Next time they really need to use the same coloured pen and swap the drawings back and forth and have Jon decide on the best one, and also try to guess who drew it
I adore the immediate riotous laughter from Ellen every single time she sees what she's drawn and the progression to a complete breakdown when she catches a glimpse of Luke's drawing
Can we get a behind-the-scenes video of a day in the work life of OxBoXtra? It doesn't have to be super in depth, just a look at their lives behind the cameras, and some extra attention for those who don't get regular time on camera, like Jon and James. It's been forever since we've gotten to see James!
A lot of awe-inspiring, very adult images in this one.... especially Ellen's Fall Guy in 03:24, LMAO! This was a fun session and reminds me a lot of Gartic Phone. I'm hoping that there's more of those or similar to it in the future. XD
I hope I'm not the only one that sees the right cheek of Luke's Pikachu as a giant nose:) Also, I like how his portrait of Ellen looks a bit like Electoons from Rayman!
I did the thing! And hopefully correctly tweeted it, so you can see three 5sec Toad I made, if not, no worries. Just thank you, thank you for making my day so much brighter today, I really needed this. 💜💜💜
Always love the content. Been here since the beginning. But gotta say. Luke, first time I saw a PUP shirt I looked them up. And I gotta say thank you for introducing me to my favorite band. I was so ashamed as a Canadian I didn't know them before!
Jon could have really thrown everyone of by saying something other than pikachu. It would have been hilarious if he said something along the lines of, "...your friend and mine... Andy!"
That doodle on the thumbnail reminds me of the Ballpoint Universe game. It's a great indie side scrolling shooter with sprites drawn using a ballpoint, very unique art style.
"I see that highbrow content is being made" is a brilliant line from James.
....And that was the last they ever saw of him.
Poor guys.
James, I mean.
Having to see this horror when he's just doing his job.
And he’s not wrong!
Can I just say how much I enjoyed the 'long suffering' tone in Mikes voice as he asked "What are they supposed to be?"
The dad energy is real
Yet in their hearts, they were just glad it was Mike and not Andy...
13:50
Jon “draw a fall guy!”
Ellen - EGG
Luke - p o t a t
We all know Fall Guy...... Is potato
While Ellen's art looks consistently average for what you would imagine from a 5 second drawing I am really impressed by how Luke's pictures range from genuinely good looking to truly ugly
Luke: "2022 is the year of the snake."
Jane (Who was at home at the time): "I feel a disturbance in the force, I must channel a correction through Ellen."
Year of the Tiger Snake
*Jane:* _~pulls out smartphone and dials Ellen's number~_
@Paul C I can’t wait for the year of the Spider-Tiger
"Why do I have goat eyes?" is a strong closing statement.
The easiest way to draw Samus is just to draw her in ball form.
I was thinking the same thing. A little surprised neither of them went for that.
I was gonna say
this was my thoughts exactly
200 IQ move
Loophole!
Luke getting away with murder by doing a fetching little hair-flipping snake head move. Teach me sensei 😂😂
Jon throwing out a mid year Pikachu drawing competition like it’s no big thing. My stomach flipped after I knew what he was going to say. I really wasn’t quite ready for an impromptu Pikachu drawing contest!
Without Andy's critiques, it's not an official Pikachu drawing contest
I quite enjoyed Ellen's dawning horror. It brought back hints of the Rocket Boots Challenge energy.
the transition of their facial expressions from when they hear the character [horror or excitement], to concentration while drawing, to panic at the end of the 5 seconds is everything
Ellen has two personalities: one that is all in and serious about her drawing and the other that appears when the 5 second mark hits, laughing and judging what the first one did.
Luke’s mistake in that last round was simply drawing the wrong Pokémon. It was quite a good rendition of Victini, to be fair.
And Ellen’s Toad was a decent gen-1 Vileplume
My immediate thoughts were that Ellen's looked like a ghost of a Pikachu, and Luke's looked like a Pichu.
Luke's definitely has a stronger resemblance to Victini on second thought.
@@AndyD773 just needs a creepy shadow cast over its eyes and it would be perfect
Ellen's reaction when she sees Luke's Pikachu...
And how she tries to save up things by returning the compliment but actually worsens her case XD
I love how Luke draws Astro with a look of horror on his face for the whole 5 seconds
Edit: I now see why
Took me a whole five seconds to realise you meant Luke's face xD
Ah yeah, i did not make that clear 😂
13:16 - Sassy Luke
14:06 - Sassy Ellen
14:24 - Sassy Luke Again
They're lucky Andy wasn't there to very judgmentally judge their art judgingly.
_Especially..._ the last round.
Why is no one talking about: “So if Ellen gets these two, she could draw.”
“Well clearly she can’t draw but..” 😂😂😂 Got a real hardy laugh from me!
got to admire Luke's commitment to the bit when he finds out he is wrong
He even made his shirt spell the S's like a snake!
As I watch: Ellen's expression when Jon says he didn't ask for the ghost! Heartbreaking.
Edit: And then, triumph.
The music that kicks in at the end has such a wholesome upbeat feel that perfectly closes out SOTWE, it makes me happy-cry every time
I heard it on a different channel once and got that creeped out feeling you get from "the uncanny valley" effect.
its called Far Away -MK2 if your looking for it
Ellen's laugh during E.T. is seriously the best wholesome thing ever.
Yes she just started laughing uncontrollably
Plus she drew an excellent E.T. sprite!!
Luke throwing so much shade just to lose.......fantastic.
I love how based upon the hand movement you can tell Luke started with Cloud's very large hair.
Luke pulling a banksy and made his pacman doodle even more valuable.
Ellen's fall guy made me laugh so hard, part of my dinner went up my nose
There is so much to love about this video, there’s too many masterpieces here!
Next time they really need to use the same coloured pen and swap the drawings back and forth and have Jon decide on the best one, and also try to guess who drew it
Part of the joy of this was watching their eyes widen (in rapid recall, calculations, and/or panic) at each new character's name =P
I love that Ellen keeps ALL the art they do.
Me too! ❤️
I adore the immediate riotous laughter from Ellen every single time she sees what she's drawn and the progression to a complete breakdown when she catches a glimpse of Luke's drawing
Ellen's pure cackle when she saw Luke's E.T. was WONDERFUL
Can we get a behind-the-scenes video of a day in the work life of OxBoXtra? Was hoping for Ellen's drawing of Luke to just be a very tall stick figure
Basically wierd Mario but a stick figure?
Just Lanky Mario would suffice
You know, this would have been a fantastic opportunity to promote the "I'm a normal adult" T-shirts...
3:27 there's a whole story behind the thousand-yard stare of those beady eyes...
A story of death and slime.
They've seen things.... 😳
Things that cannot be unseen....
it hasnt been 5 seconds and i am laughing already
That's happens every week for me.
@@CodaBlair its the ellen-luke effect
When Jon said the Honda from Street Fighter all I could think off was the car mini game xD
Luke’s self-satisfied look after ET gave me some real Rowan Atkinson vibes. Well done, both of you!
I haven't laughed this hard in way too long. Thank you all for always brightening my day! ❤️
I love content like this. Utterly pure. Thank you so much.
I love it when Luke and Ellen get competitive, and that last round deserves a round of applause all on it's own.
Can't help but wonder if they planned this episode around Andy being on vacation so they wouldn't have to worry about his judgement.
Always nice to see the return of ellenchu and lukachu
OMG that was the most amazing competition I've ever seen! Especially the last one that didn't count! Hilarious! Thank you!
Ellen's depiction of Toad at 6:55 reminds me a lot of the tall mushroom dudes in Ooblets, it's adorable
love a good art challenge and loved seeing the results
Ellen drew a great Vileplum when drawing Toad
Loved this! Absolutely delightful!
My favourite SOTW since you've returned to the sofa. So much fun. Loved every moment.
James AND Jon in the same video? Very powerful content right there!
I can hear Andy asking, "Have you seen a picture of a pikachu?"
Thanks as always :)
Hands down favorite ending hard cut
It's absolutely awesome seeing how much fun everybody is just having. I don't think I've stopped grinning yet.
A lot of awe-inspiring, very adult images in this one.... especially Ellen's Fall Guy in 03:24, LMAO! This was a fun session and reminds me a lot of Gartic Phone. I'm hoping that there's more of those or similar to it in the future. XD
Watching you guys brings me joy.
Wow, That highbrow content actually got pretty suspenseful. Mix that with Luke's evil faces as he draws and it's a Thriller.
One of the absolute best Shows of the Weekend! You two are precious💙
If only Andy walked by after they drew pikachu
I never want Show of the Weekend with you two to end!
Strong performances from both of you!
There is so much to unpack, and indeed unpack from what is unpacked from this video.
I hope I'm not the only one that sees the right cheek of Luke's Pikachu as a giant nose:)
Also, I like how his portrait of Ellen looks a bit like Electoons from Rayman!
The portraits at the end!!😂
Always great seeing Oxtra crew, love Ellen
Lukes Tom Nook doesn't look like a Tom Nook, but it *feels* like a Tom Nook
You could make this a series and I'd watch it on repeat. Love it!
This was great, may i please suggest a 'Charades' Show of the Weekend. I've really missed them the past 2 christmasses
This was a fun one! Really enjoyed it!
Oh now come on we need to see that art folder. That's an episode for sure.
I think they showed it, or at least some of it, in a short
I did the thing! And hopefully correctly tweeted it, so you can see three 5sec Toad I made, if not, no worries.
Just thank you, thank you for making my day so much brighter today, I really needed this. 💜💜💜
I loved this. John went there.
Had a really shitty start of the week and this cheered me right up. Thanks :)
This is a glorious start to the weekend!
Ellen won the first one just using the puppy face LOL
If I ever have a snake, I'll call him Luke 😂
Snakes are really cool just like Luke
loved the bit when Mike walked in. 😂
It's always funny when they're doing something ridiculous and someone walks by and they have to explain themselves haha
Luke: "I'll be moving everywhere in a snake-like way."
Me: *thinks of the "Eat Like Snake" Burger King advert and the MGSV fan parody*
Ellies laugh is just so infectious!
I'm loving Lukes t-shirt
Ellens laugh gets me every time, I love it and i'm crying.
I have a disease its called "Ellen-itas" I got from hearing Ellen's adorable bubbly ness and laughter.
I hope we get a short of Ellen's full reaction to Luke's ET! If it can fit into a short.
ah yeSsssSsssS the perfect intro... I'm already laughing!!!
THE RENDITIONS OF EACH OTHER I ALMOST CRIED
loved Loved LOVED the show!!!
Ellen’s Fall Guy drawing was clearly influenced by her friendship with TomSka. It looked exactly like the potato in the “Die Potato” ASDFMovie scenes.
LUKE NO i screamed, remembering the art folder short.. ellen puts my fears to rest a moment later 😂
My Saturday is so much better with these shows. I missed Luke
Luke and Ellen together creates the perfect heartwarming energy.
That was a really good e.t she made
I half expected to have one of them draw a circle and argue for "jigglypuff as seen from above" 😆
Freaking love it. Makes my Saturday!
How could there be a pikachu art judging without distinguished pikachu art critic Andy weighing in?! :P
He'll be furious
You know you've watched this channel for a long time when immediately you knew the tie breaker would be a Pikachu.
Andy!"
Draw an Andy, have Pikachu judge it.
Fun, entertaining, enlightening. Great gaming content. Love it
Luke doing the snake moves had me laughing so hard LMAO!!!
I wish I could like this twice.
That doodle on the thumbnail reminds me of the Ballpoint Universe game. It's a great indie side scrolling shooter with sprites drawn using a ballpoint, very unique art style.
I adore how Ellen is so amused by her drawings.
