When they grow up, they feel other activities are more important, so they let go religious guidance from everyday life.In fact, all aspects of life are based on religion. Nothing can escape at all. Because in reality our lives are always at crossroads. Always have to choose the straight path or bent. And everyone needs that guidance. If we continue to hold firmly to Allah and His Messenger, there is no such thing as sadness or despair. Only 3 religions in this world can be considered as “a religion”. They are Jew, Christian and Islam. Other than that, we cannot call a religion. To be called and recognised as a religion, it must have a devine book or guidance which purely and authentically from God, not man made. Other so called religion including Buddhisme, Hinduisme, Toisme and etc are just Isme. Isme is an attribute from human cognitive and reasoning activities which as the result, one man or a group of people come out with a conclusion and ideas about the meaning of life or selfness and how to achieve that meaning (objective). From every municipality we will choose a representative till we have the Council of Muftis for that country with a Grand Mufti of that country to sit in the Council of Muftis under the Khalifah. All communication can be done remotely with everyone working from home. Most effective and real democratic way of governing where all decisions are made by the Council of Muftis but the Khalifah having the final say. Under the Khalifah, the "ULMN" will have its own army, navy and Air Force under one commander for defending the entire ummah. We already have the hardware from major Muslim countries. They just have to be relabeled "ULMN" when they out to defend any part of the Ummah like removing the Mediterranean Sea blockade by Israelis.The four letters "ULMN" will be enough to deter anyone from doing what is happening in Gazza today. But we have to be the Nation of Al Muttaqun for Allah SWT is saying now: "You are the Best of People ever raised up for Mankind, enjoining what is Good, forbidding what is evil and believing in Allah SWT" .... Quran 3: 110 Then how can we go wrong when the fear of "ULMN" will overwhelm the hearts of our enemies? Surah 29:27 is describing a historical event. Aramaic is a language, not a race. It was the lingua franca of the Neo-Assyrian Empire and the language of diplomacy in the Ancient near-East. The peoples who spoke it natively were the descendants of the Assyrians and Babylonians, the Jews of Judaea, and most of the people of the coastal Levant. Try again.
The ayah you mentioned does not say that prophethood "will come from from ISAAC and Jacob..." exclusively. What is says is that " Allah has put prophethood in his offspring..." and like ISAAC and Jacob, Ishmael is also his offspring.

And We have enjoined upon man goodness to parents. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge,1053 do not obey them. To Me is your return,and I will inform you about what you used to do. 9. And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surelyadmit them among the righteous [into Paradise]. 10. And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah," but when one [of them] is harmed for [the cause of] Allah, they consider the trial [i.e., harm] of the people as [if it were] the punishment of Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord, they say, "Indeed, We were with you." Is not Allah most knowingof what is within the breasts of the worlds [i.e., all creatures]? 11. And Allah will surely make evident those who believe, and He will surely make evident the hypocrites. 12. And those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Follow our way, and we will carry your sins."1054 But they will not carry anything of their sins. Indeed, they are liars. 13. But they will surely carry their [own] burdens and [other] burdens along with their burdens,1055 and they will surely be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about what they used to invent. 14. And We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them a thousand years minus fifty years, and the flood seized them while they were wrongdoers. 15. But We saved him and the companions of the ship, and We made it1056 a sign for the worlds. 16. And [We sent] Abraham, when he said to his people, "Worship Allah and fear Him. That is best for you, if you should know. 17. You only worship, besides Allah, idols, and you produce a falsehood. Indeed, those you worship besides Allah do not possess for you [the power of] provision. So seek from Allah provision and worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you will be returned." 18. And if you [people] deny [the message] - already nations before you have denied. And there is not upon the Messenger except [the duty of] clear notification.1057 19. Have they not considered how AllŒh begins creation and then repeats it? Indeed that, for Allah, is easy. 20. Say, [O Muúammad], "Travel through the land and observe how He began creation. Then Allah will produce the final creation [i.e., development]. Indeed Allah, over all things, is competent." 21. He punishes whom He wills and has mercy upon whom He wills, and to Him you will be returned. 22. And you will not cause failure [to Allah] upon the earth or in the heaven. And you have not other than Allah any protector or any helper. 23. And the ones who disbelieve in the signs of Allah and the meeting with Him - those have despaired of My mercy, and they will have a painful punishment. 24. And the answer of his [i.e., Abraham's] people was not but that they said, "Kill him or burn him," but Allah saved him from the fire. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe. 25. And [Abraham] said, "You have only taken, other than Allah, idols as [a bond of] affection among you in worldly life. Then on the Day of Resurrection you will deny one another and curse one another, and your refuge will be the Fire, and you will not have any helpers." 26. And Lot believed him. [Abraham] said, "Indeed, I will emigrate to [the service of] my Lord. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise." 27. And We gave to him Isaac and Jacob and placed in his descendants prophethood and scripture. And We gave him his reward in this world, and indeed, he is in the Hereafter among the righteous. 28. And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Indeed, you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds. 29. Indeed, you approach men and obstruct the road1058 and commit in your meetings [every] evil." And the answer of his people was not but that they said, "Bring us the punishment of Allah, if you should be of the truthful." 30. He said, "My Lord, support me against the corrupting people." 31. And when Our messengers [i.e., angels] came to Abraham with the good tidings,1059 they said, "Indeed, we will destroy the people of that [i.e., Lot's] city. Indeed, its people have been wrongdoers."

Khalifah Uthman is his direct diciple who together with other first diciples of prophet pbuh had written down Quran. They are all also memorized the Quran that since then become muslim tradition to recite and memorized Quran. Memorizing is a method of preservation. Nowadays we have more than 200 millions hafiz/hafiza (person who memorize Quran cover to cover by heart) while other Muslims memorizing partially of Quran to use in our 5 times a day prayers. The interpretation of “the sun setting in a spring of black muddy water”, in the books of Tafseer is the following: Dhul-Qarnain went towards the direction of the West until he reached the farthest place in the West. There he found as if the sun was setting in a black muddy water. If a person among ourselves stands at the shore (sea-side) at sun set, he will see the sun as if it is falling into the sea, or setting into the sea. But the reality is otherwise, when the sun sets in one place, it is still rising on another place Therefore, what is meant by the verse “he found the sun setting in a muddy water” means when someone looks at it, that is what he/she would think and see. Perhaps, Dhul-Qarnain arrived to a place where a river in deluge meets with the sea. The water of the river may contain mud, and when the sun sets, it would appear to a person looking at it as if it sets in a muddy water.

But nothing original of the first three books remains in the world today as today's bible is all men written. But the last Book send down remains intact, unchanged and preserved as promised by God Himself to protect the Quran. As in first lecture to mankind, Allah SWT says:
"This is the Book, there is no doubt in this Book, in this Book is Guidance for the Righteous and Pious". 2: 2
And Allah SWT is reminding us:
"This, the Quran, is a plain statement for Mankind and a Guidance and instruction for Pious and Righteous". 3: 38
And immediately gives us a very important instruction:
"So do not become weak (against your enemy), nor be sad, and you will be superior (in victory) if you are indeed (true) believers." 3: 39
So like you said, Islam is not a new religion but the only religion that starts with the creation of Adam and Eve and that is well documented in the Last Book, the only book that is not from this world.

Only 3 religions in this world can be considered as “a religion”. They are Jew, Christian and Islam. Other than that, we cannot call a religion. To be called and recognised as a religion, it must have a devine book or guidance which purely and authentically from God, not man made. Other so called religion including Buddhisme, Hinduisme, Toisme and etc are just Isme. Isme is an attribute from human cognitive and reasoning activities which as the result, one man or a group of people come out with a conclusion and ideas about the meaning of life or selfness and how to achieve that meaning (objective). For examlple, When a person claims that he is Buddhist, means that he is worshipping and following a man’s idea (the inventor) not God.

And those who disbelieve are allies of one another, (and) if you (Muslims of the whole world collectively) do not do so [i.e. become allies, as one united block under one Khalifah (a chief Muslim ruler for the whole Muslim world) to make victorious Allah's religion of Islamic Monotheism], there will be Fitnah (wars, battles, polytheism) and oppression on the earth, and a great mischief and corruption (appearance of polytheism). 8: 73
Why are we Muslims not talking about reestablishing the power and control Allah SWT give us from the beginning? The command is to unite under one Khalifah.
The number one concern on the minds of the Muslims is the tragedy in Gazza. The destruction in Gazza is worse than that of Hiroshima and Nagasaki combined. The Zionist Israelis are the modern day Amelak as they were a tribe from nation of the Israelites and their brutality in Gazza and West Bank is the evidence.
We have to listen to what Allah SWT is saying to us in the above verse and from the beginning.
"And Remember when your Lord said to the Angels, I am going place Khalifah on earth".... 2: 30
You see the UN which is controlled by USA, is dead body in the muddy water as every resolution passed by majority, is vetoed by USA. Which means we have to create a balance of power in the world by creating United League of Muslim Nations. Which is to reestablish the Caliphate because we are children of Adam, peace be upon him .
"United League of Muslim Nations" under one Khalifah will be a strictly defensive Force with a quick response to any threat to the Ummah of Islam.
And it is easy to do it. It will be the Council of Muftis, from which they will choose the Khalifah. Under the Khalifah will be a seat for a Mufti from every country in world with 100,000 plus Muslim population as Islam is for entire World. From every municipality we will choose a representative till we have the Council of Muftis for that country with a Grand Mufti of that country to sit in the Council of Muftis under the Khalifah. All communication can be done remotely with everyone working from home. Most effective and real democratic way of governing where all decisions are made by the Council of Muftis but the Khalifah having the final say. Under the Khalifah, the "ULMN" will have its own army, navy and Air Force under one commander for defending the entire ummah. We already have the hardware from major Muslim countries. They just have to be relabeled "ULMN" when they out to defend any part of the Ummah like removing the Mediterranean Sea blockade by Israelis.The four letters "ULMN" will be enough to deter anyone from doing what is happening in Gazza today. But we have to be the Nation of Al Muttaqun for Allah SWT is saying now:
"You are the Best of People ever raised up for Mankind, enjoining what is Good, forbidding what is evil and believing in Allah SWT" .... Quran 3: 110
Then how can we go wrong when the fear of "ULMN" will overwhelm the hearts of our enemies?
That is what Islam is and we are Muslims to resolve every matter in a Peaceful manner, Insha Allah. Alhamdu Lillah.

The ayah you mentioned does not say that prophethood "will come from from ISAAC and Jacob..." exclusively. What is says is that " Allah has put prophethood in his offspring..." and like ISAAC and Jacob, Ishmael is also his offspring.
Do you really think we are stupid? You make a claim and we check it. So read the surah. I've copied until about verse 30. It's about the prophets and specifically about Abraham and Lot.

2. Do the people think that they will be left to say, "We believe" and they will not be tried?
3. But We have certainly tried those before them, and Allah will surely make evident those who are truthful, and He will surely make evident the liars.
4. Or do those who do evil deeds think they can outrun [i.e., escape] Us? Evil is what they judge.
5. Whoever should hope for the meeting with Allah - indeed, the term [decreed by] Allah is coming. And He is the Hearing, the Knowing.
6. And whoever strives only strives for [the benefit of] himself. Indeed, Allah is Free from need of the worlds.
7. And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surelyremove from them their misdeeds and will surely reward them according to the best of what they used to do.
8. And We have enjoined upon man goodness to parents. But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge,1053 do not obey them. To Me is your return,and I will inform you about what you used to do.
9. And those who believe and do righteous deeds - We will surelyadmit them among the righteous [into Paradise].
10. And of the people are some who say, "We believe in Allah," but when one [of them] is harmed for [the cause of] Allah, they consider the trial [i.e., harm] of the people as [if it were] the punishment of Allah. But if victory comes from your Lord,
they say, "Indeed, We were with you." Is not Allah most knowingof what is within the breasts of the worlds [i.e., all creatures]?
11. And Allah will surely make evident those who believe, and He will surely make evident the hypocrites.
12. And those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Follow our way, and we will carry your sins."1054
But they will not carry anything of their sins. Indeed, they are liars.
13. But they will surely carry their [own] burdens and [other] burdens along with their burdens,1055 and they will surely be questioned on the Day of Resurrection about what they used to invent.
14. And We certainly sent Noah to his people, and he remained among them a thousand years minus fifty years, and the flood seized them while they were wrongdoers.
15. But We saved him and the companions of the ship, and We made it1056 a sign for the worlds.
16. And [We sent] Abraham, when he said to his people, "Worship Allah and fear Him. That is best for you, if you should know.
17. You only worship, besides Allah, idols, and you produce a falsehood. Indeed, those you worship besides Allah do not possess for you [the power of] provision. So seek from Allah provision and worship Him and be grateful to Him. To Him you will be returned."
18. And if you [people] deny [the message] - already nations before you have denied. And there is not upon the Messenger except [the duty of] clear notification.1057
19. Have they not considered how AllŒh begins creation and then repeats it? Indeed that, for Allah, is easy.
20. Say, [O Muúammad], "Travel through the land and observe how He began creation. Then Allah will produce the final creation [i.e., development]. Indeed Allah, over all things, is competent."
21. He punishes whom He wills and has mercy upon whom He wills, and to Him you will be returned.
22. And you will not cause failure [to Allah] upon the earth or in the heaven. And you have not other than Allah any protector or any helper.
23. And the ones who disbelieve in the signs of Allah and the meeting with Him - those have despaired of My mercy, and they will have a painful punishment.
24. And the answer of his [i.e., Abraham's] people was not but that they said, "Kill him or burn him," but Allah saved him from the fire. Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe.
25. And [Abraham] said, "You have only taken, other than Allah, idols as [a bond of] affection among you in worldly life. Then on the Day of Resurrection you will deny one another and curse one another, and your refuge will be the Fire, and you will not have any helpers."
26. And Lot believed him. [Abraham] said, "Indeed, I will emigrate to [the service of] my Lord. Indeed, He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise."
27. And We gave to him Isaac and Jacob and placed in his descendants prophethood and scripture. And We gave him his reward in this world, and indeed, he is in the Hereafter among the righteous.
28. And [mention] Lot, when he said to his people, "Indeed, you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with from among the worlds.
29. Indeed, you approach men and obstruct the road1058 and commit in your meetings [every] evil." And the answer of his people was not but that they said, "Bring us the punishment of Allah, if you should be of the truthful."
30. He said, "My Lord, support me against the corrupting people."
31. And when Our messengers [i.e., angels] came to Abraham with the good tidings,1059 they said, "Indeed, we will destroy the people of that [i.e., Lot's] city. Indeed, its people have been wrongdoers."

Khalifah Uthman is his direct diciple who together with other first diciples of prophet pbuh had written down Quran. They are all also memorized the Quran that since then become muslim tradition to recite and memorized Quran. Memorizing is a method of preservation. Nowadays we have more than 200 millions hafiz/hafiza (person who memorize Quran cover to cover by heart) while other Muslims memorizing partially of Quran to use in our 5 times a day prayers. Are you memorizing your book? At least 15 % of its contains by heart? I don't think so

The interpretation of “the sun setting in a spring of black muddy water”, in the books of Tafseer is the following: Dhul-Qarnain went towards the direction of the West until he reached the farthest place in the West. There he found as if the sun was setting in a black muddy water. If a person among ourselves stands at the shore (sea-side) at sun set, he will see the sun as if it is falling into the sea, or setting into the sea.
But the reality is otherwise, when the sun sets in one place, it is still rising on another place
Therefore, what is meant by the verse “he found the sun setting in a muddy water” means when someone looks at it, that is what he/she would think and see.
Perhaps, Dhul-Qarnain arrived to a place where a river in deluge meets with the sea. The water of the river may contain mud, and when the sun sets, it would appear to a person looking at it as if it sets in a muddy water.
