I really wanted to write an in depth paragraph all about the human experience and how we’re all just amalgamations of people and events we’ve been impacted by whether or not its good or bad. But then I realized that might be too edgy for a Saturday night. I’ll just say Circus is great and Sleppu is great and cat ears are great- thank you very much!
Either way I’m pretty exhausted since I actually recorded this at 2 AM last night and have been working on it up to this very moment. Sometimes I do things just because I challenge myself on a whim like “I bet you can’t put out a song in less than 24 hrs” and my stupid brain is like “u wot m8??” while skipping another sorely needed shower. And so I’m here uploading for another consecutive Saturday just because I’m stubborn. Pls send help i m dumb.

It's really sad that during the chorus, we see only the faces of the people she copied(Miku, Meiko, Rin, Luka)in the mirror. The poor girl has lost herself, her own image, in her quest to be something she's not. What's even sadder is that if she lets go of the fake images she has, she'll only have a 'blank face'. She's 'nothing but faceless in the eyes of others'.

It started innocent enough. A game. A dare.
She was happy to play, if it would make others happy.
She had to act like Four people through the course of the day, changing her act every time she saw one of them, only stopping to act like the next one she saw.
She was very good at it for the first few days, acting exactly like one, then shifting to perfectly imitate the person she was speaking to. Soon, she was following a few of them around, just to act like them and amuse them.
And she loved it. They were laughing!
But soon, they started to act differently. They ducked around corners when they saw her coming, and started changing their schedules, deliberately sacrificed time and effort to avoid her.
Others were coming up to her, questioning why she acted so differently, and so often. Still others asked if she had any integrity at all or if she was this two-faced all the time.
Finally, one of the Four, the nicest and brightest of the four, who was her favorite to copy, turned around and shouted at her, in front of all his friends, to stop and leave him alone, and ran away.
And it hurt. She realized she needed to stop.
Crying, she asked the person who dared her to remove the dare.
Surprised, he consented. His fun watching her ended a long time ago, and he was shocked she was still doing it.
She sobbed, relieved, and thanked him, and went about her day.
Later, when she was having a conversation with one of the remaining friends she had, she realized that she hadn't stopped acting like one of the Four.
She mentioned this to her friend, and they both laughed it off.
She focused on changing her way of speaking, and noticed it was another mimicry of another of the Four.
She panicked and tried to grope for something familiar, but only the other two of the Four came to mind.
Her friend asked her what was wrong, but she didn't hear.
She struggled trying to get rid of the habits she had developed copying the Four.
After more crying and a few explanations in between gasped breaths, she finally overcame the Four, if only for a moment, revealing what was left.
There was nothing.
She was gone.

Okay, actual talk. I listen to this all the time because of how much I relate to it. I'm not really seeing any other comments saying how much it reflects them but here's one. It's always been an issue I had. I'd pretend to be someone I'm not when around certain people to get them to like me. It is now at the point where I don't even have to purposely do it. I instinctually become and say exactly how the person in front of me would like me of be. When I'm around someone new, I'm blank. I show no interest in anything or lean one way or another. My own personality is the personality of others.
Just a thing someone might be able to relate to as well.

Reminds me of my severe depression. I was totally broken and mimicked others to look normal losing, myself in the process... over a decade later I'm still just bunch of jagged pieces stuck together with gaps missing.
I hope you are feeling much happier and are in a much better place right now! I can understand the feeling of keeping up an act just so others won't worry, but it hasn't gotten to the point where I've lost my identity. I sincerely hope you are doing well and are enjoying life. Not really, no, because the loids are a Japanese company and will likely continue to use Japanese actresses. It’d be cool though

YAMAHA, the parent company, and creator of the VOCALOID software needs to approve the license of a company to make a voicebank. If it's in a different language that VOCALOID doesn't have, YAMAHA will have to translate and implement the VOCALOID software in another language.
So far, we have English, Spanish, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean.

I see this song as a way of showing how underrated Gumi is. When most people think of Vocaloid they think of the main ones most of the time. No there are several underrated Vovaloids. And some of them happen to be my favorites. But my friends point out to me that Gumi has her own style, most writers give her happy songs like Miki or Rin. while the others have a lot of meaning behind them. They are able to project themselves on her through music because Gumi dosen't have a story. She is a blank canvas with an amazing voice. She is not copying the other Vocaloids , she's copying exactly what the song writers want her to. That's what all Vocaloids do, but songs like this give the Vocaloid emotions. Something they don't usually have, they aren't even people. Songs like these hit close to home sometimes, she is what my friends call "Guinea pig" for she is one of the best Vocaloids to test songs with through their eyes.

yeah miku is the most popular but I think gumi when you look at it is actually producing a lot of songs so yeah shes not underrated thats what bored is saying shes pretty well known but shes not the most popular but shes definitely not underrated because writers really use her a lot and also I think the only thing that making gumi not popular because shes not in the project diva game and yes she has a game but its also not pretty well known and also searching vocalod in youtube I dont think you wont encounter her

Omg, this reminds me of last night, I was in the hospital, and the doctors confirmed I had a fracture.While my x-rays were out, the doctor joked that I was a copycat, because my bones looked like my mom's when she had a fracture.

since I didn't really notice any comments among the lines of how they relate to the song, I wanted to share my experience similar to the aspects of this song. Despite what a lot of people think, I am not doing this for likes, but just to warn others of toxic friendships and also to let others going through something similar know, that they are not alone.
So, I used to have this best friend. We had been best friends since 1st grade and I learned that she liked a specific type of friend. I didn't have any other friends at the time, so I was desperate for her attention, time and affection. It started out simple, fixing habits, saying what she'd like. It later evolved into dressing a certain way, talking a certain way, liking the same things she did, agreeing to anything she said, defending her in any situations. No matter how bad, I would stand up for her. I remember one time, she got in a fight with a girl, and that girl wanted to punch my best friend. And so I went up to her, and asked her to punch me instead of my friend. I was willing to go so sadly far, just to keep her by my side. The sad truth is that she had been manipulating me, taking pleasure in me changing myself for her. That way, she felt power over me and knowing that I'd do almost anything for her, I took the consequences of a lot of her actions. I almost got expelled because I took the blame one time she went to graffiti. This cicle of pain and misery went on for eight years. In those eight years, I developed depression and lost who I was completely. She had dragged me down, climbing on me, just to be a little more popular. The other kids saw me as her little puppy, so lost without her. And so, I was known to be a pushover. Others tried to befriend me, in hopes of getting the same treatment as my friend, but she didn't allow me to have other friends. So I didn't. Lastly, I came out to her as a pansexual. She didn't like that. She spread rumours about me, and I was left alone.
Please, be cautious of who you befriend, and do not give your love and time to someone who isn't worth it. Please. My thoughts are with all of you going through anything similar, or a rough patch. I wish you all the best, and once again, be careful.

I can relate to this too much trying to base my life around looking after a family member.
Being ripped on by said family member for caring/being “weak” until I stopped caring and took my care elsewhere.
I’m the end it came down to I had no identity I was almost like a remote controller for a TV.
I was the connection used... I was living their life for them.
I guess the only thing I could relate to was how they saw me. The only feedback on myself was their point of view.
I became the person they said I should be. They wanted me to remain their slave. They needed my care.
I became the person able to leave them. I found someone else to take my place who they couldn’t manipulate. I stopped caring.

This song makes me think of an unfinished character in a game, that is able to copy every character possible and replace them during the story without problem. He has little to no personality, and is aware of that fact. I can relate on this because my parents always wanted me to get good grades so I stopped caring and slowly started failing in my classes, I was already in so much pain that I decided to tell someone and my parents finally realized how much pain I was in after I spent a week in a hospital and got diagnosed for ‘Major Depression’ and my parents finally put the pieces together that I was faking being happy after the place watched my behavior and whenever they always asked me why I was there I would only reply with “My brother abused me” and never go into the details of my suicide because my parents told me to act normal so I could get out sooner
i completely feel you... i have bipolar 2 (so i deal with severe depression during some periods), but outside i'm the happiest and most cheerful person you ever met. i'm really extraverted and loud since i have adhd too, but i'm in so much pain i can't really describe. i have sever traumas caused by my parents, they barely remember i exist, but they still want me to be perfect on the outside and to show people how much they raised me perfectly. but at home, they barely remember to give me food. they don't want me to go therapy anymore, since the psychologist pointed out their mistakes, and they hated that. they want me to go only to some frickin priest and to be a good christian girl, meanwhile my mental health is deteriorating day by day. if you wanna talk with someone, i'm here

This resembles me because my parents wanted a respectable kid, so when I was born my mom and dad made me adaptable, then changed me, so now I don't have my own personality, so I create one by taking small bits of others and fusing them.
That's who I am now.

I think the song is about the fact of changing your personnality according to different persons
For example: Gumi is changing her facial expressions according to the vocaloids who are appearing in the mirror but when it comes to her, her facial expression is just neutral

Dear god, I just love this song. I relate to it so much and I can’t explain it, I just have such a deep connection with the words and the beat and everything. I really can’t remember who I am anymore, sometimes I feel like a mirror, even. I copy those around me, almost mirroring their quirks and personality. I don’t even know my own personality anymore, everything just feels blank when I’m not talking to someone. It’s confusing but almost right in a way I can’t explain.

There is a mirror that is hidden somewhere in the forest buried under a tree. If you find this mirror your reflection is not showing so you get suspicious and then the gems *or whatever design they do on the mirror* starts to glow and you are brought to this world that is white a enter an area where their are souls. Souls of the people you know.. when you grab the souls. Your body starts glowing out of nowhere. Suddenly you feel goofy and silly. These souls are your friends or the people you know. Grabbing these souls well allow you to be whoever you want to be.
Sorry if this is stupid I thought of this-
I don't think this song is about a mirror that can make you anyone I think that is just a way to visualize how people change their character to be accepted and liked by others wich would also explain the lyrics but that is just my opinion I like your interpretation too it tells a nice story maybe you should write it down or something
