One of my favorite Slipknot songs. Won a Grammy for Best Metal Performance, BTW! This is from Vol. 3 which is a much more experimental album and sound compared to the first 2. This was the first album I heard from them when my cousin from Florida visited us brought it with him. Thats when they became one of my favorite bands for the last 20 years. Also the solo part is longer in the album version, one thing I wish they kept in the video, so def check out that.
Vol. 3, the album this is on, was produced by Rick Rubin and has almost no swear words on it. Corey did this intentionally due to critics saying that he could not write any songs without relying on the swearing. This was the first Slipknow album that I really listened to. This and Duality are my two favorite songs. I also suffer from miraines so I can really relate to the Duality theme. Great reaction, as usual!

Since they all wore jumpsuits it was the first time the other members really had any distinguishing marks like tattoos shown publicly as members of the band. And since social media was in it's infancy, this video was really the only place anyone saw anything other than the stage version of the band members. Now just search their names and you'll see endless picture of the members maskless.

This clip was released at a time when there was a lot of mystery about the identity of the members. Nobody knew them without the masks, I remember seeing friends printing the parts that showed parts of their faces to try to piece together and find out what Corey Taylor's face looked like.

My former band covered this for Halloween 2 years ago and dressed as slipknot we had the stage dark and played Slipknots opening music they come out on stage to. So yeah stage was dark music started playing and we came out on the c dark stage then busted into this song. The Audience went wild, we had a packed house on Halloween in San Antonio!

They were still more or less anonymous at this point. After almost a decade of people just endlessly pestering them to show their faces, Slipknot finally had enough... And decided to troll their whole fandom by removing the masks, but filming the video in such a way that they're still anonymous. I do think they made an official reveal sometime in 2004, in a first ever unmasked band interview.
Tragically sad that 2 members of Slipknot here (in 2004) are no longer w/ us - Paul Gray (bass) and Joey Jordison (drums)... R.I.P. Chris Fehn (percussion) and Craig Jones (keys/ samples) have also left the band...
Tbh even Slipknot in their dadrock era is a bop. I like the little bridge section, the bass part is simple and down in the mix but propels the part nicely. It kind of reminds me of Los Deftoñes a little? Paul was cool as fuck RIP to that guy and Jordison
