I own a 2015 SHO that I bought for 19k off MSRP with only 300 miles on it. I love the car. Drove it from Dallas to Yellowstone in July and found to be the most comfortable long haul cruiser I have ever owned this car could run on the autobahn all day at 120mph. I average 27mpg doing 75-80 for 3600 miles .
Love my 13 SHO. Murdered out with red accents, daily driver, just drivin' incognito, drop it in S mode and shit whip it through traffic. Amazing, affordable, gangsta, inconspicuous, SLEEPER. Fo SHO.
I have a 2016 Performance Pack in this color. It's an amazingly comfortable and fast car especially after a little love from Livernois. A couple tweaks and it's easily over 400hp and 470-480 lb ft but the really noticeable benefit is the trans timing and shifting. Everyone is sleeping on these things as the best used bang for your buck.
had FORD tightened up on certain components and atleast gave the SHO atleast 400+hp from the factory...geeeesh!!! but, still this is ultimate sleeper ever to roll off any assembly line, still it’s alot of so call car guys don’t know or never heard of the SuperHighOutput💯
@@usdm420 it was. He was going to trade it in and didn't want to deal with the headache of selling. It needed a new windshield and a few other odds and ends
Great review and essay. I am shopping for a new car and the SHO caught my eye. I had a 1987 Taurus but since then have mostly stayed with European brands, although I'm currently in an Infiniti. All of the SHO highlights you mentioned: features, build quality, performance are what I've come to expect from cars like Audi, BMW, Infiniti... I am really impressed by how far Ford has come. To that point, I have also been shopping the Lincoln MKZ which in 400hp form matches the SHO performance wise. Like to see you do a review of that.
You mentioned the steering, the Ford Taurus is one of the few vehicles that the steering column is attached to the frame. Wich gives.you terrific feedback on road conditions. As far as 87 octane,. never put 87 in a Ecoboost, higher octane gives better power from engine which in turn works the turbos less.
I have a 2015 SHO😊It does everything I ask of it and has never failed. I can’t find another vehicle in this class that can do all the things it does. Every time I hit the gas it’s like jumping into Warp Drive. I am interested in a Lincoln Continental Reserve with the 2.7 twin turbo just to cruise around. I know my wife won’t let me keep the SHO if I find a Lincoln.😢 Can you do a performance video on the Lincoln ?
Not sure where you got your information from. However, the term sleeper was around and well known long before sho was released in the 80's. Back in the 1960's GM in particular offered multiple options to build a sleeper if you knew how to work the order system. To a lesser extent so did Ford. Additionally, the big three even offered big engines in mid and full size cars as regular production options in the mid to late 60's. Think ford wagon and sedan with 390/427/428 engine options with auto or man trans., same is true for GM and Penstar. One of my bucket list cars is a 1966 Chevy Biscayne 2 door post with 427 and 4 spd trans... all original. Chevy didn't build that many and they aren't many left today. Followed closely by a 1964 Dodge 330 with 426 RB and man tans. Both are considered factory sleepers and were well known in their day.
Anthony Edwards better than Michael Jordan? Yes the water pump is very expensive to fix they have to remove so many parts I think it runs off a timing chain it’s A horrible design
I can tell you that even still, practically nobody knows what a SHO is in most places. It's a helluva sleeper in my area cause nobody knows it's fast till they hear the turbo's spool as I pass them lol
I have a 2011 and no one knows what it is. Jaws drop at the traffic light when I leave And all that I meet love the comfort of the sho. When you say everyone knows what it is, I’ll argue the fact. Maybe where you come from but where I live no one knows it, it’s all about the other ford ecoboost cars like the fiesta st focus st focus rs and don’t forget the non ecoboost 5.0.

The 10 up Taurus SHO is probably the most underrated car ever !!

The 4th gen SHO is an incredible car. I regretfully sold my 2013 last year.

I mean they have VERY SIMPLE tuning kits that will push this to 400hp easy. Plugs, intake, down pipes and a tune and boom...400hp and 450tq
I agree. Should have increased hp to 400hp and 415 in 2013.
Just bought a 15 two weeks ago. One owner, 60k miles...certified pre owned for $19K OTD. So far I LOVE this thing.
Damn that’s a good deal congrats
Can't beat the certified PTO. I bought this one for $9k, but it was pre-pandemic and from a friend.

I was done when he called it the Taurus SHOW! It’s S.H.O.!!
😂If you are into cars, you know what a SHOW is. Its Super High Out-put. The term show is easier to say.
i appreciate the review video. So is the model in this video not the performance package SHO?
Got a 2013 and for some one disabled works perfectly for me
Don’t use livernois to tune your car. There are better tuners. Find a good SHO forum for advice.
How do you not have more subscribers
FORD should have gave it a nice send off from 2017-2019 put the Raptor HO 3.5 eco boost twin turbo higher top speed
The SHO should have had a 160 mph speedometer
Hey man great video are the mirrors auto foldable
Nope

You have to use premium
No you don't. But it will have more hp and get better gas mileage if you use premium gas.
@@jeffjackson9679 as an owner of 3 Ecoboost cars, higher octane is a must . These cars appreciate better fuel as in higher octane.
