- This is a collection of camp meeting, evangelical hymns played on the Schantz pipe organ at First Presbyterian Church in Fargo, North Dakota. See if YOU (yes, you) can name all of them!
It gives me soul a thrill to hear these camp meeting hymns played on a pipe organ.
I know them all…lovely
You have a new subscriber! I love your channel. These songs are ones we sing quite often at the Baptist church I am a member of! I play for congregational singing a lot, and growing up Baptist (even up north, haha) we love to sing these evangelistic, camp meeting style songs! I play everything by ear, and when I think of songs to play as the prelude to brighten up our Sunday morning or evening service, these are my go to choices! Sorry, that was a mouthful!
1.Bring them in.2.Send the Light 3.Redeemed,how I Love to proclaim it 4.Saved,Saved Saved 5.Glory to his Name 6.Blessed be the Name.
I knew 3 of the 5 you played. I didn't know the first or the fourth.
Bring them in, Send me the light, Saved, saved saved, Glory to His Name, Blessed be the Name of
I knew them all as well. As a fellow organist, I grew up playing (and singing) these gospel songs and others similar to them. I liked your registration choices, and especially liked your harmonizations. It was good to hear these songs again. Great job!
So rarely these hymns get played on a pipe organ anymore! Thanks for watching! I’m so you enjoyed it. I was raised in a missionary church where these hymns were familiar to most of the congregation and I learned them by ear.
Beautifully played. Thanks.
Yes! I recognized them all after 4 notes. I can hear my grandmother singing them as I stood on her right side in church. Send the Light is one that God used when I was in dorm devotions at college to get my attention for when he called me to ministry a few months later. Yes, a men's dorm in the lobby--devotions every week led by students.
Edit: My love of the organ was formed in church as a child attending with my grandmother.

You really play beautiful. I love playing these old hymns on two three manual pipe organs and one digital three manual organ thanks to three churches that me play them during the week on off days. Since you have three manuals to work with you should use them all. I will play the hymn three times and use a different manual each time with each one set to produce a different sound every time.
Very enjoyable and inspiring... Thanks for sharing. just subscribed....
5. Glory To His Name ?
1. Being Them In
You would be so fun to play duets with!!!
Hi. I live in Fargo. Do you know of any churches in town that would let people play on their pipe organs for fun?
Winnipeg Manitoba Canada Resident here. Fargo is just four hours south of us. The best thing to do is go online and look up churches and I know you have lots in town and send an email to the church office where you pick requesting permission to play their organ or if the church office is open during the day pay them a visit. If you are a member of a church with a pipe organ you could inquire with the music director. If you have any friends or relatives who attend churches with pipe organs you could ask them to put in a good word for you. If you have taken lessons on the piano or organ it will definitely be an asset in getting permission. I play two pipe organs and one digital organ at three different churches here. I am a member of one, I used the fact that I attended there in my younger days got me into the second one and I got into the third one because I knew someone who attended there who had introduced me to the minister when I attended events there in the past. If you have good references or can show you are of good character you will probably get granted permission to play on off days when the sanctuary is not being used. Go for it and good luck.
