- Triangle head screws require a matching triangle screwdriver, but if you don't have one, here's something else that worked for me on a particular sized triangle screw I needed to remove before I had a proper set of triangle bits.

2 minutes 6 seconds. Straightforward, no BS, substantive. The way youtube used to be.
Couldn't agree more.
shut up thanks
Except you might see a double unskippable ad for 45 seconds
Just getting ready to order a set of triangle bits for a one time repair. You saved me a few bucks and, more importantly, time.👍
Same dilemma avoided for me!
Same here. Thanks.
Thank you for posting this video! A screw had come loose from inside my electric hand mixer, and there were triangular screws holding the outside casing together. I followed your tip and it was repaired within 5 minutes. Thank you again.
Thank you! Another satisfied customers here - T7 also worked for the size of screw I had.
Why TF do they make those kind of screws
Thanks for this, fixed my kids train that had hair and crap stuck around that wheels and I couldn't clean it without taking it apart. Works like new now!!!
Was it a powered train for those Thomas and Friends wooden train tracks? I came here for the same reason.
@@hoguemr Me too! Did the T7 work for you?
Thank you so much. I have a ABS pump off a BMW that stopped working with 4 triangular screws. The screws came out without damage to the screws. I am impressed
This was a great idea. Scratching my head for an hour before doing this. Thank yoi
Thanks for the tip. Of all the Torx bits I have I didn't have the T-17. I finally got the screws out and replaced them with Philips head.
I didn't have a T7 screwdriver, but my T8 worked just fine. Thanks, GR!!
I didn't have either size so I tried the larger flat screwdriver from one of those cheap dollar store clear plastic screw driver kits. Worked like a charm.
This is what I love about the internet!
Thanks! Solved my dilemma. 👍
What a great tip, solved the problem of me trying to obtain a triangular bit. Thank you
Thank you so much for saying which bit to use. I feel like too many videos these days withhold the important bit of info to drive the viewer to a different page or their bio.
I have a table top fan in my room with one of these fun shape screws. Most definitely trying this right now.
Need to do some adjusting. Thank you for this tip bit 😁
Thank you, you just saved me some coin. I was looking to buy some triangle bits, but not anymore. I hope I have a t bit that will work.
Thanks for posting this - saved me a ton of money and frustration!
Fantastic. A T8 worked for mine. You're awesome.
Thanks for this workaround. I have this power cable cassette reel with three triangular screws and the reel does not rotate due to the cable being entangled inside the cassette. I had a lot of trouble to find these screwdrivers in the local hardware shops. You just helped me save on ordering these specific screwdrivers just for this one time job!
Well look at that, T7 worked for the ones I needed to remove, too! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks, had to fix my son's toy and they had 3 of these screws. The torx bit did the trick
Front porch light had died and in needed to get tiny screws out so thanks this is very helpful
Thanks for posting this! I have an electronic timer that I'm taking apart and it had a triangle bit that was recessed down quite a ways, the usual ways didn't work but a T7 bit fit it perfectly. You just saved me a few days of delay.
I'm a physician and just entering the world of basic electronics, Arduino, and home electrical repair. I was so frustrated trying to open a broken hot pot built with triangular screws.... I thought, how is it that I can manually restart a heart but not unscrew these little bastards? 🤪 I turned to the Internet for help and found your simple solution. Finally opening that water boiler felt as good as Indiana Jones finding the Arc of the Covenant.
It's amazing how you can find anything on RUclips
Big thanks 🙌👏
After i finished fixing, i replaced the screws with cross head type.
Worked. Thanks for taking the time to post
My coffee maker has these triangular screws. The Torx worked. Thank you.
Breville uses those. Bonavita too. Coffee equipment manufacturers seem to like it.
Look at you over there being a life saver!! 🤘🏻
What a simple but genius idea! 😊
Thanks I just undid a trirangle screw with a size 6 torx screwdriver on a three way UK socket
I cancelled my order for a triangle screwset from Amazon after watching this. Thanks you!
Thanks for the tip! I found a 2.5 flathead screwdriver worked best for me
Good post! Totally forgot that I had some torx around and checked the fit.
Thanks so much man, I was able to open and clean my bluetooth joystick!
Excellent tip, thanks for sharing! I used a T9 Torx for my situation.
Thank you! We tried a number of other suggestions online, none worked. But once we knew what to look for, e.g. a T7, we picked up a "Huffy 8-in-1 Star Precision Screwdriver Set" for $5.97 from Home Depot and the screws came out effortlessly. Thanks so much!
CUTE SMALL SUPER HELPFUL VIDEO - thanks man !!!
i had no idea what i could use (w/o spend money for the proper bit)
Thank you for this video it saved me a lot of frustration and potentially money!. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much! this saved me waiting for a new triangle head screwdriver - which would've taken forever to arrive
Was a T8 for me - but worked perfectly - thankyou!
Absolute legend, this worked perfectly
Great man.... It worked..... I was thinking what kind of screw it was....
Thank you
thanks for the info. can't believe i didn't think of it. makes perfect sense and it worked for me. not sure the exact bit size i used, but i just tried a bunch of different ones and one of them worked.
thank you man that save my money and time
Thanks very much for sharing. Have the same problem. I will surely try this out. Stay safe. God bless us all.
Nice one, just grappling with this now. thanks
Thanks for this very useful video.
Thanks man, you're a lifesaver👍🏼
Thanks man you’re a life saver !!!
Thanks you SO much for this video, it helped me fix something with these annoying screws.
Yeah I had to take something apart with those screws and I didn’t have the right screwdriver so I figured maybe it’s helpful information for other people too.
great! you just helped me to save £3 for buying that triangle bit!
Superb! Interestingly, I have tried the same sequence of alternatives, however for me the last bits didn't work either as it was too large. Thanks.
Wow, just what I need. Awesome Help!! Thank you.
Muchas gracias bro, voy a intentarlo 😃
You sir are a genius, thank you. Have a good one.
You're a genius!! Thank you!!!
Good video. Thanks.
Works like magic, thanks!
Wow, I wish that would work. In my instance, the screws have a nub or tiny post in the center, making them _actual_ security screws. It turns out the triangle head screws are pretty common, so common that they aren't even a true security head. If it has the post, though, it's just about impossible to remove them by unscrewing.... (most torx #7 do not have a hole, at least in my 4 different set)
I bought a set of security bits of various types. Twenty bucks for about 30 bits. Cheap at twice the price considering the grief trying to defeat some types like Allen and torx with the centre pin etc.
I'm not sure if these screws are the same kind as "tri-wing" screws but they seem to both have sorta triangular shape hole for screwdriver
Thank you! Torx works well than hex screw i saw on another videos, i used t10 though which is the smallest on my torx set.
huzzah! now i can finally break open my sharpeners because i already broke all the ones with normal screws! :D
Perfect T7 worked for a Tonka truck thank you
Thanks, man. You helped me a lot
Hope you biffed those screws, replaced them with something more normal.
If I find something with the same thread I'll definitely replace those stupid things, but in the meantime, Duct tape would even be a step up...for now the unit is just going to remain apart.
@@GadgetReboot could always cut a slot for a flat head, got o be better than Duct tape!
I succeeded to remove 5 out of 6 screws with an allen key, but the last one was stripped (from me trying different stuff). Finally I got it out with a tiny drill bit. Nice grip in it, and it unscrewed fast with the drill. I should have done all 6 with this method. :D
Tip of my scissors worked a treat.
YOU are an life saver!
Haaa your awesome. I’ve been looking at triangle heads for weeks and I’ve had a T10 in the trunk this whole time😅 damn your good 💪🏾💯
Never before seen screws with those heads
Mc Donalds toys
Hi
What is that big handle called? I have the small triangle screw driver but not that big handle.
This works! The t7 exactly. Thank you :)
Thank you it helps ne a lot at my current situation.
Thanks. Now feel foolish not to have thought of trying a 6 point bit in a 3 point screwhead. Did work, save that, for me, the T7 was too large, a T6 worked fine.
Thanks . It worked for me. Exactly what I was looking for.
yay now i can make a proper custom train
T7 worked for my new Christmas tree button pedal switch. Loose wire inside.
Thank you. This worked great.
Worked like a charm, thanks
Thanks, worked for me👍🏼
Not sure if I have any of these that would fit, but my toolbox is on the basement but its locked right now and i lost the key .
this worked for me too! thank you!
Thank you! This helped me a lot!
This is gold.
Hey thanks!! Worked!
my realization at 2am when i finally decided to repair the household toaster: I LOVE WHEN THOSE FRICKIN' COMPANIES USE SECURITY SCREWS THAT ONLY ONE COUNTRY IN WHOLE FUCKING WORLD USE.
Great hack! This worked perfectly.
Thank you. Simpler than I expected.
Worked instantly, thank you so much! :)
Perfect. Works great. Thanks.
Thank you! Great video!
Excellent, many thanks.😷🇬🇧👍
Thanks its make my work so easy
worked for me too - thanks
Thank you. It worked.
another useful tip, as usual ;-)
you beauty, used a T5 and it worked
Thank you! 👌
This worked well on screws that weren't in too tight. However, when I tried to loosen one that was very tight, the tip slipped and got slightly damaged.
So, use this method with caution; you may end up ruining your screwdriver.
