This is my favorite Iron Maiden song from my favorite Iron Maiden album and original singer, Paul Di’ Anno.

The song before this one on the album is “Transsylvania” and it goes right into “Strange World” so should be played together. The guitar solos are beautiful on this song and the album. “Remember Tomorrow”, and “Phantom of the Opera” are other must hear songs from this album. The original lineup with Di’ Anno on vocals just has a much richer and warmer sound. He was only on this, their first album, and Killers, their second.

Thanks, for the great reaction. Love Maiden's first two albums, with Paul Di'Anno on vocals. I was gutted when Bruce left Sansom and replaced Paul at Maiden, as I loved Paul's vocals. Also, Sansom were one of my favorite bands, with their "Head On" and "Shock Tactics" albums amongst my favorites.

Vampires never grow old, so maybe it's about Dracula and being turned into a vampire by one of his mistresses who are drinking plasma (blood) wine. Paul Di'Anno was such an underrated singer in his prime.

The song could be considered a direct sequel to Transylvania (the song that precedes it on this album), since it seems to talk about the world of vampires, who drink "plasma wine" (that is, wine made of blood), the other clue It is a world where you will grow old and vampires never grow old or die. There are other clues, but they are more complex to explain in a comment in which I only want to present the two simplest clues that the song gives. It is a very good analogy for other things in the world and life itself.
