Aw, I really love this song when Lacey sings it and although Kristen has a great voice with amazing control...Lacey's emotion and touch of uniqueness can't be beat. This is about moving on from a traumatic experience and it just feels like she doesn't bring that out. Her vocals are too in your face the whole time. Of course, this is Lacey's story so it might be harder for Kristen to connect with it. Lacey is so vulnerable and full of expression when she sings...you can almost see into her soul.
As long as Kristen is able to be her own unique expression, this could work, but she must be free to express who she really is. No one should ever conform to another's mold, other than Jesus. We can glean from their positivity, but let YOUR own light shine for Jesus and you can't go wrong!!!!
its different, but its time to move on... and keep Flyleaf alive, and what it stands for. Thats all i ask from the new singer... to be about passion for Jesus, and not about performance.
I though the new singer would screw up the sound of the band, but she is is actually really good. I love how they made some much more harmonic. This is my favorite song and I was judging weather to still follow them them if she screwed up this song. I'm glad she sang it well!

I really love her voice and that twittering vibrato thing she does with it, its pretty. But I just don't feel the old songs with her, its like she's trying to force the emotion into her performance instead of just experiencing it. It's still a nice rendition of the older material though, and I love her voice on the newer stuff.

I totally agree. I do like how the band made much more harmonic. I only wish I would have been able to see lacey sing this song.
