The Buick Electra 225 was the most tasteful, and elegant of all of GM's offerings in 1959. IMO.

My folks had one of these the whole time.I was growing up and sold theirs in 2004excellent condition. Spent many of hours in the garage with my father. I seem to feel like this is not the stock motor perhaps My father customized his, i'm not sure , but his had 2 4 barrel carbs & and 2 huge round airfilters. Also, my dad customized the car with a light sensor bright dim that was mounted driver side somewhere by the mirror inside cabin and looked like a Sar Trek phaser. If anyone out there has his car, I would love an update.
    I loved that car!!!!!!❤🤗
    Best childhood memories ever.

Absolutely stunning photography of one of many Grand Dame automobiles from 1959. The very Wicked Witch of the West headlights gave this car a shockingly flying broom quality to me. Absolutely love this model - outstanding maintenance!!

This was basically the Halcyon days for GM. For Chrysler, their heyday was around 55, or so. For Ford, it was the mid 60s.

@@enormerschwanz In the early 60s, my dad bought a LeSabre convertible...red, just like this one!....I passed my driving test, driving this boat!...not long after, I decided to see if the car would hit 100mph....I chickened out at 95, the car felt floaty...but I am sure it would have pegged the speedometer....and that model had the less powerful V8....I think it was a 364. rated at ar0und 250hp....anyway, after a few years, the car had developed some rust around the wheel wells, so my dad sold it to some dude for like $500 bucks!
