    I had that baby doll crib when I was a child. My mom saved it in the attic when I out grew playing with dolls. When I had a daughter of my own, my mom surprised me as I did not know she still had it. She brought it over so my daughter could now have the doll crib to play with. My daughter, who is now grown, has a little girl of her own. She is now 13, however when she was younger she also played with her baby dolls and the crib. Someday, in the future, if she has a little girl, it will be passed to her daughter and she will also get to play with the crib.

      Thank you so much for your nice comment, Mary!! My journals will be available in my Etsy shop on Black Friday (Nov 29). I will announce the time on YT and IG as we get closer. I think you're new to Kittywitty Papercraft, so just so you know, these journals typically sell out within seconds of posting, so if you really want one, plan to be in my shop before the announced time and refresh your screen til they pop up. I know that sounds crazy (and I hope it doesn't sound as if I'm bragging! 😖). I just know from the past that some people were disappointed when they didn't realize it would be like that! Thank you again for your interest! 🤗❤🎅❤🎅❤

    13:15 when l was growing up in the 60's and 70's we had the same Christmas Carol book. Don't know where it went. Over the years it disappeared just like so many other things that at the time you didn't consider it important until you see the item when your older and wish you had it back again.

    • @KittywittyPapercraft
      @KittywittyPapercraft  4 года назад

      I know exactly what you mean, Lynn!! My mom and grandmothers didn't save hardly anything so most of my vintage, I've had to buy elsewhere! I think, as you said, people didn't think anyone would want those things later!! Thank you for watching!! 🤗❤❤❤

      Call me crazy but l've bought small stuff at garage sales, thrift stores or the local antique store, just because we had 'that' in our house growing up. Nothing too expensive, like a mug, or knick knack. I even found (l don't what it is) a brown ceramic dachshund that was maybe a planter, or keep on a table for paper clips, pens etc. I was with my older sister when l picked the stuff up, and she kinda just shook her head "whatever...!".

      @@lynnkanerva4519 Oh yes!!! I do the same thing!!! I get so excited when I see something we had or my grandmother had! Often, I didn't even remember it until I saw it and the memory came flooding back! I always buy those things, too! Glad to know I'm not alone!! 🤗❤❤❤

      I don't really have anything that was my grandmas and grandpas, l only knew my one grandma til l was 6. Yeah l still like to look at stuff. I'm due for a flea market or trip to the local store. Nope, you're not alone.🙃

    Those vintage Christmas books are beautiful. It's a shame to cut them all up. Not a project I would enjoy.

    • @KittywittyPapercraft
      @KittywittyPapercraft  3 года назад +1

      Hi! I don't take apart any vintage books that are rare or in excellent condition. Those stay in my personal collection. I only use books that are very worn, have damage on them somewhere and/or are easy to find on ebay, estate sales, thrift stores, etc.
      And I view it as giving them new life! Most of what I use is over 50 years old and has had a good life judging by how worn they are! :) I don't cut them up and throw them in the trash (many thrift stores do that with books that don't sell fast enough). And they aren't forgotten, languishing in a box in an attic somewhere. I take their pages and add them to a journal and that gives them new purpose! It is also how I celebrate my love for midcentury illustration and that time period and hopefully, is a way to share that beauty with people who otherwise may not know about it. xoxo Amy :)
