You, your shop, and the fleeting glimpses we get of the people walking by your window in the neighborhood lends a feel of old world to a 21st century life. It is nice to know that old world craftsmanship and dedication to one's work is still practiced in the world. And, the satisfaction that one gets from working with his hands. I spent 30 years as a marketing exec sitting in an office making a mountain of money then decided to make a change. It pales in the light of now working with my hands and sweating in the kitchen putting out a meal that brings a smile to my client's face. SO much more satisfying.

I don't know how I got to the cobbler section of RUclips, but I find it crazy because we have been cleaning out my parents' house. Apparently my great grandfather was a cobbler in pre-war Germany, and his Dürkopp sewing machine and all of his tools (and vintage boxes of materials) are in the garage. Not quite sure how they got it to the US, and we have no idea what to do with all of it, but it's nice to see that many of the same tools are still used on the boots I wear every time we go out there. Love the video - and the end result on the resole
