Those soles still had a lot of miles left on them!
Brian, i don't know how old you are but to watch you literally & figuratively grow from an ambitious young man to the man you have become today has been a great journey to witness. Your work ethic, attention to detail & sharing your love in the restoration of your truck has been awesome! Keep up the good work. Best wishes to your "teacher" & mentor. 👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏
I'd say he's an old soul.
Nice new look on these wedges. Love the addition of a leather midsole to them. And bedding the stitches into the midsole, so that the outsole can be replaced without tearing up the welt stitching. Nicely done young man.
Love the way this resole turned out. I especially enjoyed the interlude to hear the story behind the "Spiker". Thanks for sharing.
I would bet Brian has more work than he can handle.
@@jeffreygoss8109 no mystery to that is there? Quality, passion, hard work =success
6-8 weeks out.
and another perfect job done! bij cutting the sole one can recognize the hand of the master, well done, love the vid's, greetz from the Netherlands
Great work displayed the only way he knows how. It's a joy to watch. He knows his stuff, he has been taught well. When someone really knows their job, it shows. Brian, you make it look so easy because you know your craft. I look forward to more videos whether it's your truck or boots being made or repaired.
Shine on.
This boot looks absolutely FANTASTIC now! I love watching you work, I learn so much from your channel. Amazing work!
Love your well worn lace to toes. You should line up your personal collection sometime.
Gregg Kiest great idea 👍
I love this resole! Great job, Brian!
Super smart looking! I had a pair of Red Wing Oxfords done in the same way with the black vibram sole and they look so much smarter. Great job as ever Brian. Hope you're very well and say hi to your teacher!
Me gusta mucho que siempre te refieres a tu MAESTRO, siempre respetandolo y reconociendole su lugar...eso te hace humilde y grande a la vez, saludos desde 🇲🇽🇲🇽
Quality over Quantity amazing work time and effort put in to work
That new welt is class. I do love seeing this boot with a heel but this looks like a much better wedge sole.
100% truly superb work, well done down to all the fine detail you can expect when a true craftsman is preparing your boots or shoes to an extended life like the best brands do deserve.
Your craftsmanship is outstanding! Keep the videos coming.
Brian, I wasn't sure when you first started with that type of sole, but I bet they are really going to
be comfortable, especially if you are on your feet on concrete all day. Great job as usual my friend.
Love the story..... Seems more often than not we forget to pass they story on and then it is lost forever.
Now we know. Thanks,
Again a good video Brian, thank you.
Beautiful work as always!!
Great job with the boots it looks so easy to do but I now it takes years of experience to master what you do love your video's.
Love your videos Brian you take great pride in your work ! Hope you and your loved ones are well .. God bless you !
aj9270 Thank you 🙏
Loved the way those turned out!
Really like how they turned out. Great job🤙
Five stars for your craftsmanship.
What a difference in the appearance of the boot from the before to the after product by just using the different color wedge soles.
Makes me wish they would use a black wedge sole from the factory instead of the white/beige that stain too easily.
A top quality job again Brian, keep up the good work and putting out the weekly videos, hope the truck project is coming along ok too!
Great work Brian... all Red Wing Moc Toes should look like these.
Love this channel! Keep up the great work!
Beautiful work Brian. The spiker was cool...Just shows that the simplest tool can have the most "Profound Effect"👍☮️✌️🤙
Me encanta el estilo vintage de la personalidad de Bryan...es muy agradable
I had those same vibram soles on a pair of harley davidson boots, they made the boots super comfortable when I was at work and everyone would joke that I stole Frankenstein's boots
Nice work Brian everything I Saw in this Video bring back good memories My dad was a Shoemaker I remember my dad, doing all this when I was 7 years old thank you for the good memories keep up the good work and God bless you
Wow! Just wow 🤩
Great job Brian a fine looking pair of boots
Outstanding work, they are handsome and they probably feel great.
I love the black wedge sole!
That's pretty cool him passing on the tool to you. It would be cool for you to pass in on in the future to one of your students. Your craft is one that should be passed down from generation to generation. As long as there are people in the world that can do what you do, things will always get done.
Mate. It makes me happy that you enjoy the simple things in life, the spiker story made me smile.
Tharedhed 😊🙏
Beautiful video, loved the music and ambience and of course the skilled worksmanship shown
Awesome!!!
Nice brian👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😍😍😍
I love watching you work sir! :)
Brian Asbury Thank you 🙏
Awsome work , old soul
Great job!!👍👍👍
That's sharp!
Wish they'd make all black boots with black soles! Amazing job, Brian! Keep Crushing!
They do in the heritage line
I always thought Vibram soles were all white, but I just checked their website and they make many colors and designs. Those dark ones that Brian added go so much better on darker leather.
Awesome work cause
I love the wedge soles. Black, white or beige. The most comfortable boots to work in.
MAN......your hat is awesome!
Those look awesome!!
Nice 👍🏼 work 🥾
Always enjoy. Have a great week.
Just met your GF at Kokio in Cerritos yesterday. Super nice and super grateful! Love the work you do and I know she's helps with the videos. Just wanna say a BIG thank you to both of you guys. Nothing more relaxing than watching Brian makes some boots a work of art. Keep doing what your doing guys! Much love from Bellflower!!!
Mark Palacios thanks buddy! Kokio is the best! 😊
most excellent care and craftsmanship😁
I really like the way you do your before and after at the end.
Hello from Russia, you Best of the Best!
Excellent work grasshopper
Маленький человек с Огромными и умелыми руками Привет из России !!!
it was perfect...man...!
The protective eyewear looks awesome
I would like to see you show more of the shoe when it’s finished. The sole details especially 👍🏼 I like the videos
Another great vid and professional job, I’d love a pair of those, in size 12 if you have them. Cheers from UK
funny about the spiker. I have been buying up tooling to start repairing and boot making and I was thinking that is something I need to make. I have some cobbler anvils. Also need to make a lasting post/jack.
Very nice brother.
Love the old machines you're using, damn cool.
I need to resole my Red Wings but hopefully I just need a new wedge, not a welt etc.
AHHH YAAAA =)
Great job brother. One day hope to meet you.
Saludos de Australia! Awesome vid anymore progress videos on the truck?
Brian you always do great work. A master boot and shoemaker! Question : why are some boots or shoes are not well balanced and hurt my feet! I place soles on flat surface and I can see they have a play on either side front door or back heel ( they are not flat on surface) and when you take a step they press to one side visa versa! And that ends up hurting knees, feet etc.
Great 👍 ❗️
If soles are not sitting flat on surface ,can I run them through belt sander and try to balance out soles to sit flat on surface and will not cause uncomfortableness
this guy has a great skill than the other one who always dump on dirt his shoes before cleaning it.
Very good making shoes
Lovely God bless you
Walking on air Wow 👍👍
Hey Brian I’ve watched several of your resole videos. I took my iron rangers into a local cobbler for a rocia outsole. I wanted a natural finish on the midsole leather but he dyed it dark without consulting me. Is there any way I can lighten the leather midsole back to natural?
These wedge soles in black look way better than the white ones. Mainly for the darker boots. I have a pair of black Chippewa Bridgemans with the off white soles and I bet a dark brown or black wedge sole would make them better looking.
Cuanto cuesta ese trabajo ????yo tengo la 1907 redwing me gustaría ponerle esa suela .¿ cuanto es el precio?
I searched all over the internet and even looked through their online catalog and could not find any black oil resistant Vibram wedge soles, so I had to go with Goodyear wedge soles.
Give thanks for another Vid and some more insight of you as a Cobbler. Also, I think its FRESH that you use some old school equipment (spiker and shoe press) to get the job done! BIG UPs ev'rytime! 💚💛❤🤙
P.S. No advert skipping so our boy can eat!
Haha thanks Buddy 😄🙏
Can you resole a boot to withstand 250 degrees of hot asphalt? I walk on it between 8-12 hours a day haven't found a pair that would last me 1 season.
So much more interesting than the original soles on those Red Wings.
Hey Brian, I noticed you seem to always replace the welt when you resole a boot. Is this your choice or customer choice? I’m just curious why you never reuse the original welt like many shoe repair places do.
Probably just to make a more interesting video, only gluing a new sole wouldn't attract many viewers I guess.
It should be the customer's choice. You can choose the original welt or change to handwelt. Saw that on resole form on the website
I wondered the same thing.
I own a Red Wing store and also a shoe repair store and always say the same thing, why replace every welt?? The purpose of the welt is to make the resole more efficient.
But as always great job on the repair!
If the welt is sewn into the sole it is replaced as it is here. Removing the sole cuts the threading of the welt.
Damaging it.
Adding a new welt. Sewn to the midsole NOT THE SOLE makes it easier to peel off the sole. Glue a new one. Done.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Is leather better than cork? I’m super curious about it. 🤔
how long does hand welting the average 360 degree welted boot take?
👍👍👍👍👍Здорово!!!Класс!!!❤
These soles are in good shape.
I guess in this case the costumer is always right. Great job on the resole but to me it went from a good looking boot that had tons of life left in it, to some sort of corrective shoe. Oh well. Love the vids, and way to change it up on the music, Brian!
Cuanto cuestan un par de botas Red Wing? Saludos desde Acapulco México
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
That's one big tough looking sole I wonder what vocation dude is in?
Not a fan of the wedge sole, but you make it look great. Nice job, as usual.
Imagine doing this at 12 years old. This is like the most dangerous job I've ever seen!

Hey Brian
Cool tool that "Spiker"
That's why he's the master
Tell us about your knife please. It looks hand made, maybe from a hacksaw blade? How so you maintain it?
I have a brand new pair of carolina mocs. I love the feel but hate the look. have you ever tried to dye the crepe sole?
