  • This artwork explores the many feelings that kids of the diaspora find themselves in when growing up in a home away from home. Trying to balance the stress with enjoying the memories and moments. Wondering when they would be able to taste the fruits of their labour, the immigrant dream is the alarm clock sounds. “Fruits in the diaspora” is a fleshed-out voice memo moment. A dear diary entry brought to life through juxtaposing sounds and visuals.
This song captures the relentless internal struggle of balancing rest and productivity. The nostalgic nod to simpler times contrasts sharply with the present, where ambition and responsibility take centre stage. It's a tribute to perseverance, acknowledging the challenges while reinforcing the determination to keep moving forward.

    Niu Gold Mountain
The Migrant Diaspora is often defined by the narrative of the search for a better life, an experience shared by Asian and Pasifika immigrants to Aotearoa. Niu Gold Mountain is a collection of collaborative video works that brings these histories together through over 20 different creatives. Chinese immigrants sought their "New Gum San" in the gold mines, and Pasifika immigrants searched for their "Land of Milk & Honey”. All My Friends explores these concepts in the present day. What are the aspirations of this generation's Asian and Pasifika artists? What do they see as their Niu Gold Mountain?
