One thing I would add is do this on ourself a few time before treating another person. It's good if you have some knowledge of Asian Medicine theory so that your treatment will be effective.
But the main thing I want to warn people of is be careful not to burn the person you are treating, esp if you are the patient as well. I was treating someone once, a woman who had an impact injury on her thigh. I was being very careful with applying the heat and even watched her facial expressions closely to make sure I was not burning her. She was very calm and showed no signs of it being too hot.
But then the next day she called me to say she had a large blister where I did the moxa treatment. I asked her "did it hurt when I was doing it", she replied "yes but I didn't want to say anything". She was a healthy person and athletic so was able to withstand more heat than a normal person without flinching. I was just a fledgling acupuncturist at the time. I learned after that to ask people how are you doing, is that ok, is it too hot, let me know if it gets too hot. Also you can get a feeling for when it's too much so you can stop before causing any damage.

thank you for the video. I needed to show my Tao instructor how to use the moxa sticks which I gave her a couple. I thought she was familiar but then I found out she was not. I was not able to demo it for her. Your video should help. She is experienced in using other types of more direct moxa.

No, but look into mugwort tea. Of course be sure to confirm it is safe for you before ingesting.
