You children need to let the adults run the school. Most have your best interests at heart. Armed people guard your money, politicians, and so on.
I can't hear him thru that face-diaper.
We don't care about ppl who choose to go hungry, what we do care about is our children being safe at school...
This is gods way of proving them how life is vital and we must defend it. A gun is a sword and a shield. We are no different than knights.
I bet everyone of these people will have a different out look on the teachers carrying a gun if they ever have to use it to save them. So what do these kids want for everyone to just hide a hope the police come and save them? Ya we've seen how that plays out and it's 98% not good.
If they can keep that hunger strike going for over a year, I might take them seriously. Why is the majority of the outrage over this state law, coming from outside the state?
The students that were crying outside the state legislature, earlier this week, were mainly from Hume-Fogg high school, a public school that is a few blocks from the legislative plaza, and the Nashville public school system has stated that they will not be giving teachers the approvals that this new law requires teachers to get before carrying a gun. If any of those students seriously thought that the Nashville public school system would even consider approving of armed teachers, after the progressive policies that the system has enacted, or attempted to enact, over the last two decades, then they shouldn't be allowed out in public without adult supervision, for their own safety.
Spare me the complaints about "outside agitators". There are plenty of people in this state who object to the law, so much that it's drawing sympathizers.
Also, you're conveniently forgetting that while MNPS and other school districts don't plan to grant those approvals, the Gen Ass GOP just loves nullifying local legislation they don't support--especially if it overturns a decision made in Memphis or Nashville. Count on the introduction of a bill next session requiring school districts to offer the approvals upon request.
@@vladimirenlow4388 Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if there is no effort to require districts to offer the approvals upon request. If, as has been claimed, teachers in those school districts don't want to carry guns, then it would be pointless to require approvals upon request, because there are no teachers making those requests. On the other hand, if there are teachers in those districts who want to carry guns, and parents that want teachers to have that option, then the legislature can simply point out that the option is there, and if the school district is refusing all requests for approvals, then those teachers and parents should take their concerns to those school districts.
@@paulstevens7528 Fair enough. I'd rather see any such changes result from community engagement rather than legislative fiat.
