To be fair, the test should be WITH CPL filter on Viofo since it's included. Who is going to install Viofo without it just because blackvue doesn't have one? Without it this isn't a real comparison.
Excellent work Robert. What a kick in the head Viofo releases a new firmware for the A229 Pro, (V1.2_240227) 12 hours ago, after you probably spent days gathering footage, and editing all this together. -Chuck
Thanks for the vid--I've been strugglng with which one of these to buy. If you pause the vid and look at the road surface, there's more detail captured by the BlackVue than the Viofo, leading me to think that the BlackVue is the winner.
The DR970X Box Plus front camera does a good job at capturing daytime footage. The brand new VIOFO A329 2CH which can record at 4K 60fps (with HDR off) also does a very good job for daytime footage. The A329 has HDR available for nighttime recording which drops the resolution to 4K 30fps for the front camera.
Those lines you mentioned look like minor interference like from other electronics or the car was a little grainy too but perhaps running the wires differently might eliminate that. I'm guessing cos they use a dvr type setup they use like a digital over coax or something perhaps? I used to get lines in my 720p kenwood reverse camera from my electric power steering when Id trurn the wheel I'd see very similar type lines in my rearview camera. Even if this one isn't perfect it's a good direction they are headed. I got a U3000 dual camera but a 4 camera system would be sick. ❤️ Hope this makes others bring out similar ones. 😊

Both do a fine job to be honest. I think the price should be compared and then I'll choose the Viofo for the occasional travel vlog usage.
